Reclaimed Oak Flooring

Crafted from centuries-old oak beams recovered from historic structures, our reclaimed oak flooring preserves original grain patterns and patina while incorporating modern wear resistance. Each plank undergoes meticulous restoration to maintain natural character marks and dimensional stability. Our thermal modification process enhances durability without chemical treatments, creating flooring that withstands contemporary use while telling stories of America's forest heritage.

Thermally Modified Flooring

Using controlled heat treatment, we transform reclaimed wood into dimensionally stable flooring with enhanced durability characteristics. This chemical-free process modifies wood structure at the cellular level, creating moisture-resistant surfaces suitable for modern environments. Our expertise ensures thermal modification preserves historical authenticity while meeting current performance standards for residential and commercial applications across Texas and beyond.

Custom Wood Salvage

We specialize in salvaging premium hardwoods from buildings slated for demolition, including barns, mills, and vintage structures nationwide. Our team carefully deconstructs historic sites to recover timbers that would otherwise be lost to landfills. Each salvaged piece undergoes thorough documentation and quality sorting to ensure only the finest materials enter our production cycle for transformation into bespoke flooring solutions.

Hi Pat, Beth and I love our reclaimed pine wood flooring that we had installed in our home earlier this year. We like it so much we did a couple of hall ways with some of the wood we had left over. We went with the walnut color and they look great and really accentuate our furniture. Everyone who comes over compliments us and asks where we got the wood.

WE LOVE OUR FLOORS! We were thinking about putting new floors into our Lake Highlands home and were not really sure what we wanted to do. Then Pat Hicks of New Life Hardwood Floors showed us some absolutely beautiful Reclaimed Antique Heart Pine wood flooring with the most amazing markings on it. We were sold!

Pat, the floors I purchased from you are my favorite part of my house! I love the fact that I am walking on floors that folks walked on in 1935 and that this beautiful wood is not being discarded. They are gorgeous, flaws and all, my favorite part. The crew that installed them was very professional and courteous.

Pat Hicks and his team at New Life Hardwoods are the best. We had a flood in our split-level home from the laundry room that quite literally spilled over into our den, kitchen and the bedroom/bathroom below. I was so fearful we could not match the gorgeous quarter-sawn oak from 1960 that was in the rest of the house. Pat Hicks was able to find reclaimed wood -- an exact match -- for our home, and his team installed and finished them beautifully.

My husband and I are very pleased, and Pat and the folks at New Life were a pleasure to work with every step of the way. The match is seamless! I cannot recommend his company enough, and his showroom on Slocum in the Dallas Design District is a must-see.
