After careers on Wall Street, Mike and Doreen picked up stakes and moved to New Mexico in 1990, where they made a dramatic lifestyle change and purchased Ernest Thompson Furniture. Over the years, they've added five more companies to the Ernest Thompson family. Doreen still loves her role designing furniture and enjoys long time relationships with many of her customers.

Mike concentrates on the financial side of the business as well as overseeing the marketing activities for all of the Ernest Thompson companies. When they're not working, Doreen likes traveling to San Diego where she grew up as well as spoiling her grandchildren.

Carved within our furniture is the history of centuries past, with influences taken from cultures throughout the Southwest, including Native American and Spanish colonization.
