Had a channel drain installed by Ware Landscaping last November on my driveway. My driveway created a real challenge for the company but Greg and his team were very accommodating and made sure everything functioned right and kept water out of my garage. I appreciate their patience and dedication. Good company. Service: Drainage solutions

I had new soil and sod laid and the guys did a great job. They worked hard and responded to questions and changes without any problems. They made sure everything was in order and cleaned up after the job was finished. I have also used Ware for a water filtering system and I have not had any problem since they installed it as well! Thank you so much for such a great job my lawn looks wonderful!

We will only use Ware Landscaping from now on. We are customers for life! Not a paid advertisement although it may sound like one. If you want to know more about our experience let Mike know and we would be happy to share more. It all started with the need to replace our front porch and walkway and has ended most recently with an amazing new back patio and the development of a great friendship. Yes, after three years of projects I consider Mike a great friend, I'm not sure how many companies can say they walk away with not only completing the job but making a new friend as well, but Mike and Ware Landscaping can. Mike and Ware landscaping have provided piece of mind to myself and my family for both our Naperville IL and Wisconsin homes.

Both required large drainage remediation projects, both needing french drains and 1 home required the building of a new permeable paver driveway to take away 1000s of gallons of water away from the house on externally rainy days. In addition to helping keep both homes dry, Mike and We will only use Ware Landscaping from now on. We are customers for life!

From the first phone call to plan an estimate which was answered by Connie, the initial design and estimate by Mike, to the completed project and final walk-thru by the operations manager Greg everything was 100 percent professional. The team walked us thru the plan, laid out everything from the plan, reviewed the layout against the plan, made recommendations for improvements based off their experience, listened and answered my questions and even used one of my many suggestions.

A very professional and highly skilled team with the ability to take an idea into a picture and then take that from a picture to a dream come true. I would recommend Ware Landscaping for any of your needs and I have already sent neighbors his way that stopped by to admire the workmanship. Below are just a few of the pictures that will take you from start to finish.

We had a wooden deck for a front porch that was starting to age. When we removed it we saw that there was a concrete slab underneath it that was pitched toward our house, creating an issue with standing water up against our foundation. We had Mike come by to advise us on the best solution, and he suggested permeable pavers. We were able to come up with a custom design with him that day.

The crew was fast, friendly, and tidy. I'm sure they do much bigger jobs than our little patio, but this project made a huge difference for our home and we are so pleased with it. Thank you Ware!

Mike and his team did an incredible job at our house. From the moment he arrived, he was kind and professional. He listened carefully to our situation, asked great questions and investigated our property. From there he created an excellent plan and proposal for our home. We had water flow problems on our property and this was the perfect solution.

Once the work began they were hard working and always helpful if I had any questions. The work was completed and we are so happy with he result. Not only is it an excellent solution to our problem but our property looks amazing. Thank you Mike Ware and the entire team!

Ware Landscaping came completely redid my whole yard, and my wife and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. They also built us a patio, that we just love. Here are some before, during, and after pictures. We would highly recommend, Michael, Francisco, Leonardo, and the rest of the folks at Ware Landscaping.

Mike, Greg and the rest of the crew made our back yard dream a reality with a drainage system to remove the stream that flowed through the middle of the yard, which flooded every rainstorm and stuck around for weeks. To complete the look in came a perfectly designed beautiful hardscape patio that we can't wait to use this summer. The entire crew were incredible, so friendly, knowledgeable, and paid attention to every detail. Highly recommend!

On June 26th 2018 Ware Landscaping provided an estimate for landscaping/drainage work that they recommend we perform around our property. Mike (our contact person and owner of Ware Landscaping) asked for a 7,000.00$+ deposit before scheduling the work. As his website provided a number of testimonial and we were able to verify credentials, we signed a contract and submitted our deposit ($ 2,397.49 via credit card, and the rest via check).

By August 14th, Mike had yet to provide an update on the progress of his plans for the work, including submitting all the necessary paperwork to the City of Glen Ellyn. At the start of our relationship, we mentioned that the property lines were not well defined, and that we resided within a Flood Zone. He assured us that he specialized in properties located in our area, and that the City Inspector of Glen Ellyn was a friend of his (when meeting in-person he stressed this repeatedly, and took his phone out to try to call the Inspector with us present).

He was adamant that our project was scheduled to begin shortly, and that we would receive an update soon. On September 10th we requested an update on all paperwork. Mike told us (in writing) that he was working on scheduling for our work to commence, and that because he knew the inspector of Glen Ellyn really well he could setup an appointment between himself, the inspector and our neighbor to answer any questions he might have about the upcoming work.

On September 21st we contacted Mike to let him know that he was expected to set a date for the project to begin, as we had planned on finalizing the work before the weather took a turn for the worst. His response was that he was planning to start on our project the following week, and that he wanted to schedule another meeting to finalize. As he was corresponding via e-mail and text with my husband, I decided against waiting any firther, and called him to demand that he give us a concrete answer instead.

He apologized and said he would stop by soon. On September 26th Mike began excavating in the backyard-portion of our property. Two associates of his performed the work on an excavator and were on-site for a total of 4 hours (documented via security camera footage). Mike left shortly after they started working. That same evening, when we returned home, we found a notice from the Village Inspector on our doorstep, and a ‘STOP ALL WORK’ sign posted on the edge of our yard.

We connected with the Village inspector who denied ever speaking to, or even knowing Mike Ware. Allegedly, Mike never inquired after which permits were necessary to execute this project, and never presented any plans to the City. We were very upset by this revelation and called Mike to ask that he explain why he had been professing the existence of a relationship with the Inspector of Glen Ellyn, and that all paperwork was in order.

His response was that, in all of his years of work, he had never encountered any issues with projects where he had failed to file the necessary paperwork, and that he was unaware that we were located in a Flood Plain. We replied that requesting permits was our financial responsibility, but that it was his responsibility (as a professional) to execute the paperwork (something we had made very clear from the start).

He denied any responsibility and, when we mentioned his numerous affirmations of being a close friend of the inspector, he insisted that in all his years of work he never encountered any issues of this kind. At this point we asked that he return our deposit in full, and he denied our request on the basis that we had signed a contract that stated that all deposit payments were final and could not be refunded – he also mentioned that he was happy to resume work whenever possible.

At the possibility of losing 7k we consulted the Village and presented Mike’s proposal to their landscaping engineer. He informed us that, even if Mike had asked for his assistance or had submitted his plans to the City for Review and Approval, they would not have approved his plans. Our location requires for strict landscaping rules to be followed, and his plans for our property were not in-line with their policies.
Mike would have known this, had he studied our land the way a professional of his caliber should, before beginning the work.

The city suggested that we mention this to Mike, and that a refund would be in order on the basis that we supplied a down payment in connection to a project that the Village would never approve-of. He denied any responsibility and offered, at the most, to return 3K worth. I insisted that he refund us in full, and he insisted that the ‘trench’ in our backyard is a reflection of over 50 man-hours worth of work, so his team was owed a certain amount for their efforts.

We have security camera footage documenting his ‘intervention’ on our property, and his claim is absurd. They were there for a little over 4 hours, and he blatantly and knowingly lied to us repeatedly. He also left all workers unsupervised and we were not informed by Mike, or the supervisor on duty, that the work had been halted by an inspector. We filed a claim through the Attorney General of Illinois and will now explore other avenues. Happy to provide additional details to anyone who might benefit from them.

Mike and his crew just completed a transformation of our yard. They re-graded our front, side and part of backyard equaling 40% of an acre lot. We had water in our basement even though we have an interior drain tile system and sump pump. They installed a permeable in ground drainage system around our entire home, re-graded and put new sod in. It’s rained twice and our Sump pump is bone dry!!!

Not only is The property protected from water, puddling of water and any interior home flooding, the yard is transformed and aesthetically beautiful! We highly recommend Ware Landscaping and his crew!!

We have used Ware Landscaping now at both of my houses. The first we needed to remove an above ground pool with rocks and pavers along the sides and back fill then re sod the empty space. They were prompt, affordable and did a fantastic job. You cannot tell there was ever a pool there!! The second was a month ago they removed a bunch of trees and debris from my yard.

Again backfilled with dirt and sod. His team took a couple days to complete and they cleaned up when they were done and the yard looks amazing! Highly recommend Ware Landscaping!!

My husband and I were more than pleased with Ware Landscaping. Mike is friendly, professional, and easy to talk to about lawn and garden issues. He did general Spring clean-up, some landscaping, and laid mulch. What a huge improvement in our yard in just a few hours! The high quality of service and competitive pricing would be hard to match. Everything looks so beautiful.

In 2008, my husband and I sold our home in eight weeks. Our realtor informed us that the buyers commented on the beautiful yard and landscaping before they entered the house. Ware Landscaping helped sell our home by designing an unique, affordable plan that accentuated our home that added to its value. Working with Michael Ware, the owner of Ware Landscaping was a pleasant experience.

First met Michael when he was this young kid who introduced himself to me and offered to mow my lawn. His goal was to earn enough to buy a birthday gift for his sister who was turning sixteen. I said okay just to humor him, but was left speechless at what a great job he had done. He was only thirteen then. Michael was my official landscaper ever since. That's been nearly eleven year.

This year the decision was made to redesign the half acre of landscape on my propety. There were bushes that dated back so many years and had not been maintained Without hesitation, I hired Ware Landscape Design to do this job. All of the very old bushes that butt up to the house in front as well as back, were removed. Most of the other evergreens were either removed or relocated.

The workers removed all the old decorative rock and installed 15 yards of mulch. Weigela (Wine & Roses) were installed/positioned on the south end next to the garage. Ground cover...Geraniums, lilacs, boxwoods, yews as well as climbing hydrangea and knockout roses were strategically positioned around the entire house...front, north end and near to the back of the house.
Ware Landscaping had installed a culvert underground a couple of years ago, where the yard had eroded downward. immediately behind the house. Grading was done and new sod installed the whole width of the house.

Everything presents so fresh and new. Hard to imagine that it is the same landscape! The blooming has begun. The job was completed in the time estimated and the cost $3500.00.
