Waldman Plumbing is one of the oldest plumbing and heating service companies on the North Shore. We have been serving customers for over 100 years and are now on our 4th generation. We are proud to say that we have become known for our personal and prompt service. One century ago, Jacob Waldman, newly-arrived in the United States, started Waldman Plumbing and Heating.

He rode his two-wheel bicycle, carrying his bag of tools, from job to job. Over the years, his son Phil followed him into the business, as did Jacob's grandson Mike and great-grandson Jeff. Today Mike and Jeff Waldman are the heart of Waldman Plumbing and Heating, serving residents and businesses North of Boston and beyond.

He was personable. I showed him the 2 corroded parts I wanted replaced on my hot water tank, he looked at them and the rest of the hot water tank plumbing and suggested replacing a breaker valve. He calculated the bill based on replacing these three parts to be $1050. and I agreed. When he finished and presented the bill it was $1315. which was $265. more than I had agreed to because he added what he said was replacing a shutoff valve to water heater.

There was no shut off valve on the hot water heater before he put one on it, and this was not discussed or agreed to prior to him installing it. I found this upsetting and was disappointed that he did this. Poor business practice.

Arrived on time: Jack was pleasant. Helpful, courteous, explained our options and issues in detail. While he was here installing a sump pump, he discovered a leak from the furnace, (which is serviced by our energy provider). Because of this, we were able to get this addressed by our contracted service plan. Waldman plumbers to the rescue once again.

Jeff Waldman (on phone) and Tim Marquis (in home repair) listened closely and analytically, and were familiar with the intricacies of our aging (ancient!) oil furnace & steam heat system. We learned we paid double what we should have on our last furnace repair, money that should have gone toward a new one, given eco credits available. Tim & his very polite apprentice Aaron (I think) made quick work of a steam pipe repair, fixed 2 faucets and figured out a hot water issue. Also helped us figure out steps for our upcoming bathroom repairs. Worth every penny, & we'll be calling again soon!
