Tar in Plumbing wrote an untruthful response to my post of poor service. Called the office was plumber was here. The woman was rude and I could hear her saying I am a complainer and to leave. The plumber was here maybe 25 minutes and he seemed unconcerned about my plumbing issues.

The builder of our townhome in OTR put our furnace and AC on the second floor to get more airflow to the third floor. We ran into a problem with the AC drain overflowing to our kitchen ceiling in the second floor. We called Tarvin for help as we needed someone soon. Dave came over the next day and we got service at a reasonable price. Dave not only fixed our problem but spent time helping us figure out how to prevent the issue from happening again.

He took us step by step through the process and even explained that it's actually pretty normal to have some buildup in the pvc pipes from dripping water lines. This was above and beyond and much appreciated. And we weren't gouged the service. When this happened we were concerned because we have had bad experiences with plumbers in the past. Tarvin is our go to plumber from here on out.

Tarvin plumbers helped me with toilet installs and a water heater install and their follow up is great. Many years ago we had trouble locating a large enough gas water heater and they drove to KY to locate one. They will go the extra mile and the owner called us personally to see that this was done.

I have used Tarvin Plumbing for a few plumbing issues throughout the years. I have always had great service and value from them. Today I had Phil come and replace a leaky shut off valve for the dishwasher and I also had Phil replace the shut off valves at the meter. Phil is very courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. Phil has also replace a garbage disposal in the past for me. I am planning some bathroom upgrades/remodel and I will without a doubt be using Tarvin Plumbing; especially Phil.

Tarvin Plumbing is the best in Cincinnati; decades of experienced, professional and responsive. They do more than plumbing - full kitchen remodels. I would definitely call them again!

Tarvin replaced a broken flush valve on my guest toilet. I had purchased a replacement valve thinking of doing the work myself, but decided to let a professional do it. I asked if the valve purchased by me was acceptable. I was told after it was installed that it was about an inch shorter than the original. Because of that, I have to now hold down the flush handle until the bowl empties, and the supply valve now constantly leaks water because the float does not go up high enough to turn it off.

So after the $214 payment, I still have a defective toilet. I contacted Tarvin and offered to purchase a new flush valve and supply valve from them if they would not charge another installation fee. They refused. They refused to offer any consideration for the problem. I feel that a professional plumber should have told me that the flush valve would not work rather than install it and then tell me it wouldn't work properly.

Every plumber I have meet that works for Tarvin is amazing. They always take the time to explain everything to me and never make me feel dumb when I dont understand something. They are great at what they do and I never have to worry about the quality of their work.

Ellis was very thorough and fixed our clogged drain caused by food particles from our kitchen sink. The price was excellent. Ellis and his apprentice were very professional. I'll be calling Tarvin Plumbing again. Service: Unclog drain

Fantastic people! Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Did multiple different jobs I needed done! Got the job done quickly and efficiently. I am appreciative of all of their hard work and will definitely use them for all future plumbing needs

Every time I asked the plumber a question he would reply "I'm not sure, what do you think?" Didn't instill confidence, but they got the job done.

They did the job they came to do fine but then before he left he said that he would check my pressure. He told me it was a bit low and asked if I wanted him to fix it. I ask what it would cost and he told $159. So I told him to go ahead and fix. Then when he asked for payment it was $259. I asked why it was $100 more and he said for his time. I said it did not even take an hour to fix and he said, yes you're right it will only be $90 for my time.

I told him that I asked the price up front and he did not mention that the $159 did not include his time as I would not have had the pressure changed if I knew it was going to be over $250! So I called to explain to the office manager who sent me an invoice that was higher than the $90. She said I knew that it was going to be more because they sent me a price sheet last week and it was actually $120 on top of the $159. even thought the worker told me $90.

I did not know how long it was going to take and why I asked the price upfront. She did not make me pay the additional money and they did the job so I am giving them 2 stars but she was not nice about it and I would not use them again.

Had Tarvin come out for a clogged PVC pipe for the washing machine unit. There initially was some confusion because water pressure was checked which might have led to a water heater leak that started soon after. They came out again free of charge and they refunded me for the original visit because of the water heater leak that they were able to fix.

Mark Tarvin came out the second time and explained everything in great detail and also gave me competitive quotes on replacing the appropriate malfunctioning equipment. At the end of the day what you want is accountability and professionalism in a company, and you definitely have that with Tarvin. Would recommend them to friends/family.

I hired Tarvin because of their high ratings and common sense approach to diagnosing a storm drain repair. Unfortunately, on this multi-step repair they either miscommunicated or mislead me a few times. Despite considerable attempts to communicate somethings were not completed as contracted and discussed. One example which seems completely out of character, considering the reviews- one of the drains that had just been cleared of debris and roots by a Tarvin plumber was not covered up nor repaired to prevent more debris from falling in.

I ended up configuring a temporary fix with things I had on hand. Our agreement was I would supply material so it and the other downspout that needed connected would be repaired. When I went to purchase supplies I was told not to purchase anything yet. When I gave them the opportunity to follow through on what was discussed they basically told me -it was my problem. The other problems were annoying but I could overlook them. In general I imagined a much better outcome considering the other reviews and spending 7000+ dollars.

Have been using Tarvin for years at two different houses. My outside hose faucet became inoperable and I called Tarvin. They were in the area and 15 minutes later Brent arrived.needed some internal parts and did not have to replace the faucet. Was done in less than 15 minutes and very reasonable charge. Very Happy!

Very happy with Tarvin plumbing. David had been out to the house a couple times and every time he gets the job done right. Very friendly, knowledge and timely. Highly recommend

I'm very satisfied with the service I received from Tarvin Plumbing. They scheduled me quickly and the plumber (Brent) was knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. Prices were fair, especially for a high quality, no-fuss job.

UPDATE: Tarvin did send unexpected compensation for the vanity and refund. They (unexpectedly) went above and beyond to fix the situation so I will revise to 5 stars. STEER CLEAR- here's my notes and a photo. Up front I discussed with Ellis I wanted to keep to $120 bill. Ended up over $180 ( even with his "gracious $25 discount "). Didn't have parts to fix pipes even when I discussed what I needed on phone.

I Went to HD after he told me 3/8 size needed. It needed to be 1/4. Luckily I checked. He was in his truck when I returned from Hd and claimed most of the time I was gone, he was cleaning the pipes. charged me for parts at end I didn't know I was getting charged for. Why didn't he have me get them when I was at Hd? He ended up using a completely different part than he was originally going to use that I grabbed just in case at hd.

I never knew I was going to be charged $24 for additional parts until he was done. Then he said he could take them off after they were put on? Also, when he was there about an hour and hadn't began soldering, he let me know he could leave if I wanted him to. Called to complain and spoke to i believe mike. he's a piece of work What a joke. Tarvin Plumbing is an excellent company. They are very professional, kind, and do wonderful work. We had both of our bathrooms remodeled and a third bathroom with a sink reconstruction. It's absolutely gorgeous! They were so patient while my husband and I chose what we wanted for our designs and they did exactly what we wanted. These folks are extremely professional and very reasonable in their rates. I had two outside faucets as well as my inside sink that leaked. With a finished basement a previous plumber said the outside one would need to be replaced which would involve cutting through the inside drywall. I am happy to say Tarvin did both and never needed to go inside through the drywall. Kitchen faucet works great. Tarvin is my new go to for any plumbing problems.

Tarvin Plumbing was extremely responsive and professional when our old hot water heater died. The morning after it died, I called Tarvin and they were at my home with a new hot water heater TWO HOURS later! They were efficient in installing it. There was a weld that did not hold, and they came quickly when we discovered that and fixed it quickly. Their pricing was fair. Tarvin will be our plumber from now on.

Tarvin Plumbing did my total kitchen renovation. From demolition to installation and everything in between, the job was done efficiently and with tremendous skill by friendly and courteous workers. The work was completed on time and exactly the way I wanted. I still use Tarvin (and have for over 25 years) for my plumbing needs and would not hesitate to have them do another renovation.

Tarvin Plumbing has been great to work with. They are very thorough and responsive. Appointments were easy to make, and they were on time for all of them. We hired them for repairs in our master bathroom, and were very happy with the work done, so we had them back to complete more work on the exterior of our house. Highly recommend!

Tarvin has saved the day for my wife and I twice. First we had something burst on a bathroom sink that led to an unfortunate small flood. We feared the fix would be costly and a hole would end up in the wall, but nope. Tarvin came as fast as they could, fixed the valve, no damage to the wall and it was under $100. Next, we had a clog that just wouldn't go away despite a paycheck's worth of clog remover, so I called Tarvin again. 30 minutes later clog gone and everything in good working order. The workers are always nice, service is great, repairs are affordable. I will not use another plumber in Cincinnati. I am a big fan.

Tarvin Plumming has been to my home on several occasions and completely remodeled two of my bathrooms. Their friendly staff made it easy in helping select a design that would accommodate my needs. The work was done in a speedy, professional manner and everything was done exactly as stated and turned out better than I even anticipated.

Fun Fact: Tarvin Plumbing has been in business for 108 years and is now being managed by their 4th generation. Shout out to Tarvin for coming out and fixing a clog in our sink. My landlord called them and within 20 minutes I got a call that someone was on their way. 30 minutes later he was at my door - talk about service! I am having guests stay the weekend and I was anticipating having this problem for at least a few days and Tarvin saved me from a hostess nightmare and a sink full of dirty dishes.

Full disclosure - I can't speak to the price since my landlord booked them, but I can say that they were insanely quick and the nice man that came was very friendly and worked quickly to solve the problem. Very satisfied and would highly recommend! Pro tip: Don't forget to take advantage of their Yelp deal!

These guys were great - the plumber who came out to fix our clogged toilet really tried hard to minimize time spent and expense of the overall repair. Super nice, honest guy - I would definitely call them again.

I use them for my single family rental properties, my commercial space, and my own house. I also use them for any properties I manage for others. Very timely and efficient! I've had them do over 20 jobs for me and I'm always happy with the work.

I called Tarvin first thing Monday morning to see about getting a gas line run for a new stove. The girl explained they have two different ways to schedule an appointment. 1) Choose a day and they will be out first thing around 830am. Or 2) give them your schedule over the next few days and if they finish a job and can fit you they'll call and see if that works for you.

Well I work 8am-430pm Monday to Friday, and apparently those are their only service hours. Luckily, I was off work on Tuesday and asked if there was anyway they could fit me in on one days notice and they said they would try. I got a call around 10:30am Tuesday saying they could be there in 30 minutes. Perfect! The guy showed up, installed everything for the gas line from the basement to the new stove and was finished within an hour and a half.

I wasn't super impressed with their price, it seemed a little high to me, but I've never had this type of work done before, so it might be right in line for the industry. It was $80 for parts and $180 for labor. But the guy was already there, and I hate having to schedule stuff like this, so maybe I paid for the convenience of not having to look for someone else and get quotes, etc. I was glad they were able to accommodate my schedule.

My wife and I moved into our first home only to find out the previous owners did not disclose a back-up issue in our unfinished basement. Tarvin snaked my clean-out line and found a collapsed pipe on the city side of my property.

Thought I'd give Tarvin a try, they're just a few blocks from my home; I've been using Halpin for eight years. The plumber Tarvin dispatched was not exactly seasoned. After six minutes he said faucet switch-out required tearing out tile -- a $400-500 job, in labor alone. But, he'd have to charge me for the six minute service call blocks from his office.

Unlike other plumbers we contracted, they don't do estimates. Called Tarven; they offered to charge $36 for the 6 minutes. Should have quit then and called it a day. Plumber suggested switching out shower faucet cartridge, to perhaps fix the temperature control -- a $70 part and promised he'd do it as fast as possible, within the original 40 minute $72 quote, a total of $142 -- 15 minutes later he handed me a bill for $212. Plumber arrived at 8:26, left at 9:12. Wrote the check for $212 and chalked it up to "disappointed but wiser" customer experience. Won't call Tarvin again.

We had a toilet emergency that needed to be attended to. I called Tarvin Plumbing, they were out that same day, Jim was very professional and did a very thorough job on our plumbing. Our sink was clogged and draining slow, he fixed that while he was out as well.
