SunShare Community Solar is an easy, affordable way for you to enjoy clean, renewable energy. Instead of putting panels on your roof, we build large solar projects called community solar gardens with thousands of panels. You subscribe to a portion of the energy produced in the community solar garden, along with many other residents who share your commitment to renewable energy.

So far, we are saving a little money each month as we start up our solar garden subscription. But the best part, far and away, is being less dependent on fossils fuels to generate the electricity we use. I am quite happy to be participating in the SunShare's Community Solar Program here in Minneapolis.

Working with sunshare is a great experience! It's good to know that there's an affordable option other than rooftop solar.

I wanted to participate in green energy but the location and type of our house makes solar panels impossible. SunShare answered my need. The transition was seamless and they made all the arrangements with Xcel so I still only receive one energy bill. It could not be more convenient. The sales pitch at the time involved some discussion of small cost savings over time but the real insensitive is that you can feel good about doing something to help save our planet.

It's hard to live green in an apartment. I was feeling guilty all the time about not doing my part for the planet. When I heard that I could use solar power without panels, I was so happy. Then I signed up and SunShare was awesome. They are so knowledgeable and helpful, I didn't look back for a second. It's a no-brainer.

I have been a member/subscriber to SunShare since the launched in MN three or four years ago. At first, we were waiting for the solar community garden to be built. Then it became operational and has proven to be a good decision. My SunShare credit on my Xcel energy bill is consistently $10-$15 more than the bill I receive from SunShare. This resulted in my building quite a "credit" balance in my Xcel account. SunShare had done an initial calculation of what I might save per year and their estimates have been correct. I would recommend to anyone to look into it.

I signed up for Sunshare without really doing my homework first. A couple months later, I was able to cancel before it actually began. I did so because I finally got the time to talk to the people at Sunshare. First off, the fellow I talked to said that more most of the time that you are saving money on your electric bill, its only going to be about 5%.

He said that amount was "pretty common". Another actual user of Sunshare told me the same thing. So get this: When you sign up, you have to sign a contract for 25 YEARS. I asked the Sunshare employee, "Well where does this $500 savings come in that you advertise"? He says, "THE $500 SAVINGS IS STRETCHED OVER 25 YEARS". Wow, that comes out to $1.66 per month savings on your bill!

What this all boils down to is this - You are saving a decent amount of money, but the majority of that money is eaten by Sunshare. Do you want to sign a 25 year agreement to save $1.66 monthly? Not me. (It is true that sometimes you will save a little more than 5%, BIG DEAL)

I just signed up. Was very simple did it right on line. Hope it lowers my bill some. Will be better for the environment. I checked into solar panels for my house but I would not get enough sun. Next best thing.

Very informative briefing from the staff at St. Cloud on Thursday. I await my results of the assessment.

I've had SunShare since their first solar garden opened. It seems to work as advertised-- I get a credit on my utility bill every month. But they almost never give out any information about how much power was generated in a month, either in total or per panel. So, it's pretty much impossible to get a good picture of how it's all working. It's like a black box, you sign up and you get utility bill credits, but you almost never know what's actually going on.
