This place is shady! We had our heater/ac checked 5/13/22- 4 different households and the same guy tried to sell a compressor thing that cost $200 to each one of us! I guess they have to sell items now too! My heater was just blowing air when it came on and was told - needed a new heater @ $13, 000. Luckily we had a home warranty and that guy was HONEST!

No new heater needed- just a new board circuit! Yep you just lost 4 family households by this dishonestly! Shame on you Sierra Air! How many other people have you taken advantage of?

Adam Van is superb! watching him working he is dedicated, honest in his profession. He really did a good job tuning up my furnace. He explained all the things he did.!I will recommended Adam! For sure next month air condition tune up.! See you next month Adam.!

Called to get a second opinion on a quote for a 1:1 swap out on my 22 year old air conditioner. The home advisor, Ty was very pleasant and thorough and gave me several estimates on different options for my heating/air conditioning needs. In my research, I found Sierra Air to be one of the more pricier HVAC establishments, but they appear to do a thorough job and back their service by warranties. Larger Northern Nevada company and still growing. More estimates to get and no decision made at this time. It is a "big ticket" item to consider.

I can not say enough great things about this company. On time, respectful, kind just to name a few. I had a furnace from the 80s and it was just time to upgrade. They beat a competitors pricing by a surprising amount. My Technician Anthony is AMAZING! I can not believe how professional and efficient he was. During the main install he was helped by Rudy who was also wonderful.

After the guys left I was hearing a whistle sound. Anthony came right back and very quickly figured out my intake vent (not a part of the incredible work they did) was loose due to the wrong screws and fixed it without hesitation. This company is the real deal and Anthony is worth his weight in gold. It is so nice to know there are still honorable service guys who go the extra mile!

I needed duct cleaning and scheduled it well in advance. I got a text saying the technician would be there shortly. An hour and a half later he is not (we are not hard to find) I'm then told he won't have time to do the service because we have renters checking in at 4pm. (This was communicated day one and we expected someone to arrive at 11am) I was hopefully this company would be reliable but sadly they were not. I was really hope all of the negative reviews were wrong but they were not. Everything was communicated up front so the companies excuses are quite useless.

I called 5 furnace repair shops in the Truckee area. Sierra Air was the only one that answered the phone and was able to service my furnace the next. 4 days later and I still have not received a call back from the others. I received a text that they were on their way. I received a call with the exact time of arrival. John was friendly, knowledgeable and explained everything to me and what I needed. I highly recommend this business. You won't be sorry. They are located in Reno but service the Tahoe area.

I've had seasonal service to my home for the past several years. This year I had Adam who explained the workings of the heating and air conditioning systems to me. He was on time, professional and very mindful about the work he was doing. Given the age of my home both systems appear to be working well.however, after reading various reviews I can only hope I'll be prepared if one of them stops working. Laurel L.

I have used Sierra Air for over 40 years and they have always provided the best service for furnace and air conditioning installation and maintenance. Since Ron Ford sold the company to a corporation out of California, this has all changed completely. We had our furnace go out last month and we called Sierra Air to come out to repair it. We were told they didn't have any available times for over a week.

I told them I was a Comfort Club member and she said "Well that makes a difference". She looked at the schedule and said "Nope, it is still over a week". I finally said we would try to get by until then but weren't happy that it would take so long. Later that day, our furnace started working again and I called back and told her that it was now working but we would still like someone to come out and check our furnace and thermostat.

She then informed me that since it was now working they would not be able to come out until the end of January since it was no longer an emergency. We made the appointment for January 31st between the hours of 2 and 4. January 31st the office called and asked if we would move our scheduled time up to between 4 and 6. I said that was not acceptable as we had other plans and we made the appointment over a month ago so we felt it was fair that they show up within the time scheduled.

At 3 p.m. we received a call saying we were still on the board for the technician to arrive between 2 and 4 but he was running a bit behind schedule and he will call before 4 to let us know he is on his way, Needless to say, no one showed or called before 4 and when I called the office and asked where the technician was she said we were still on the board for service between 2 and 4.

I pointed out that it was now after 4 and no one had called to tell us anything. I told her I was very disappointed in the service, or non-service, their company was providing. I then told her to cancel our appointment and we would call another company. I cancelled our Comfort Club membership and will no longer use or recommend Sierra Air to anyone looking for a good HVAC company.

I also saw that this same corporation bought out Jet Plumbing, who we have also used for many years. With the customer service we received from Sierra Air, we will no longer use Jet Plumbing either as customer care is obviously something they do not care about. When big corporations take over these businesses that were locally owned and operated, the personal service seems to go out the window.

I was amazed when I saw all the negative reviews on Yelp and the boilerplate responses to these negative reviews. Most also said when they called to talk to someone about their complaint, their calls were not returned or they were not satisfied with Sierra Air's response. I would suggest anyone considering using Sierra Air or buying their Comfort Club membership, save your money and call someone else. Anyone else!

As others have said, a complete rip-off company. They came to do a heater repair on Dad's property (that I pay for). It was a simple repair. I looked up the cost of the part they replaced and even assuming they charge full retail price, the remainder of the cost which was labor would have amounted to over $400 per hour because it took him 2 hours to do the task including travel time. Taking advantage of senior citizens. Also, they don't give an itemized invoice and that is probably because they don't want you to know how much they are really charging for parts and labor. Also, they don't offer to leave the old part behind which makes me wonder about that as well. You've probably seen the expensive commercials they have on TV about their "friendly" technicians and "Million dollar smile".

I don't want a million dollar smile, I need a reasonable cost repair. I will instruct everyone in the family to NEVER call this ripoff artist again. Apparently I am not the only one by looking at other reviews. Sierra Air don't email me to ask me to call and hear any explanation. I am an electronics engineer and I know exactly what was the problem and what it should have cost. You charged family about 3 times what it should have cost.

In addition to my own poor experience, I've posted another neighbors experience with Sierra Air (see the 'photos and videos link). Avoid this company. They are the worst HVAC on Reno. Employee Ricky tries to make it look like they care by lurking here on yelp and asking unsatisfied customers to call, but when I called for resolution, they did absolutely nothing. Hire someone else.anyone else!

I had another vendor install a furnace 9 months ago and then had Sierra install a whole house humidifier last month (which I love!). On a very cold morning, the furnace started shutting off before the house reached set temperature. I called the furnace company and they said, over the phone, that it was probably the new thermostat that came with the humidifier.

Although I personally suspected that the furnace was overheating, I called Sierra, explained the situation, and Jason said "we'll look it over; you shouldn't have to go back and forth between vendors." :-) They came out ready to put in a new thermostat, but, before doing that, Jason inspected the furnace and showed me that it was flashing an overheating error code.

He left AND DID NOT CHARGE ME FOR THE VISIT. I then called the furnace people and they came out and fixed the furnace problem (overheating. They increased the fan speed and cut back the flame.) Smart: I will now recommend them to all my friends. I love excellent customer service!

I'm in Vegas and I had mistakenly contacted this business while trying to contact a local business with the same name. I still got a call back almost immediately, even though they knew I was out of the service area. They are super kind and helpful.

Did they fix it yes. They told me 270 for a transformer. I later found the part number for under $30. So where is the extra $240 coming from. They don't itemize their expenses very well. I was charged a 'level 2'. No one could tell me what that means. How many levels? Why 2? What is their hourly? Nothing explained. In all they charge too much for no explanation as to why.

If they could clearly explain maybe I'd feel better but I have a bitter taste after this experience. I'd honestly let them take the transformer back too. I would recommend someone else.

We had Sierra Air come out and do a PM on our heater just to prep for winter. Will came out and was courteous and did a great job, he was very knowledgeable. I also like to grill service people on how they like their job. It gives a good indication of a great company. Will spoke very highly of Sierra and the respect for their employees which makes me feel good that I selected them. They will be out in the spring to do an AC service. I know they'll do a great job. I highly recommend them for any HVAC work.

I am rather confused and perplexed. I bought a platinum system in April. At the time I was given a 5% discount for becoming a member of the club. We were told the cost included two years of the club, hence the discount. When I called to schedule the first visit I was transferred to four different people. Three could not find anything about the club in our file so they said I needed to call the salesman.

He stated" no you didn't pay for the club in the $21,891 price. You need to pay an additional $20 per month to get that". So why did you give me the discount? Second, I was told as part of the install they would check the airflow from the registers. That was never done. I was called by the cust service rep today. She said no Josh did not include the club in the cost of the system. She also said I didn't call in to schedule the duct test to make sure the system is balance. Shouldn't that be part of the install?

DO NOT get roped into paying $20 a month for their "home comfort" program. I did and regret it. It is a scam. It is suppose to give existing customers priority, but it took me four months just to get an appointment for maintenance. i have since cancelled the appointment. I am pretty sure I can take five minutes out of my day to replace the filter on my HVAC system and save another $90. Plenty of other options out there.

I signed up for Sierra Air's Comfort Club which includes an AC check and a heating check every six months. Although after the first AC service last week, Sierra Air caused a perfectly running AC unit to shut down completely and then had the gall to charge me for another visit to fix the system. Btw, during the AC check, the maintenance tech didn't even check the coolant level in the system when they came out so what exactly do they do for $220/yr? Overall, I would not recommend Sierra Air. Their maintenance program is terrible. At least the service tech who came out after they broke my system knew how to fix it. Yet charged me $700!

I hate to leave such a bad review after so many others have had better experiences. Im leaving this review because after a year of owning this a/c we had a maintenance technician come over to deal with some preventative maintenance on the unit. Two days ago it does not work now, although you can hear the a/c start up. It has been in the upper 90's/low 100's. we called and they gave us the bogus excuse that they do not have any fans/ small a/c units that we may use for the time being. Though, the equipment that they have are all being used by other house holds.

We have small children and elderly people who have health issues, as well as animals (some that cannot deal with this weather). They gave us an appointment for next week. I find it amazing that this company has some really amazing reviews, but I guess it depends on special circumstances. Had some other problems with the equipment (a/c unit) with pipes freezing up during the summer. Im fed up with the service and would not recomment this provider.

We installed a whole new heating and ac system and have had at least one (major) problem every time we started using the furnace and the ac. Also a member of the home comfort club for 3 years since the install, and have never received a filter yet. They always bring the wrong size despite me communicating that repeatedly. Currently waiting for someone to come out because our AC only blows room temp air. Had to purchase window units to get cool air in certain areas of the house and another one now because the whole system isn't working. Wishing I had spent my $9,900 elsewhere 3 years ago.

I actually have 3 different reviews. I had different experiences with different staff. William did the estimate and he was very considerate. Friendly and informative. I greatly appreciate his help. Landon was the one who came to install. He did wonderful! He and his helper were patient and helpful! They were considerate of everyone in our home. And even with our dogs! Cody was a little curt.

He did what he needed to do, but he wasn't too polite. I debated on how many stars to give because Cody made the experience bad. But because Will and Landon were respectful, 5 stars works. And because I was so happy to finally have central air, 5 stars works. The HVAC system works great, so 5 stars work. I do recommend that Sierra Air let their staff know they represent the company, not just themselves.

Despite an underwhelming start, I ended up engaging Sierra-Air after concluding that they had the best overall package. I am glad that I gave them a second chance because I had a fantastic experience this time. Josh was communicative, professional, flexible within limits, and followed the plan. Big kudos to the installers, Nick and Dan; they were equally professional, cordial, and transparent on each step of the way. Moreover, they made sure I was pleased with the final results.

This is our 7th year of having Sierra Air take care of our heating and air conditioning needs. This past visit Carlos was our technician. He was very polite and conscientious about wearing his mask and covering his feet before entering our home. All of the work he performed for our Spring tuneup was done professionally and in a timely manner. Thank you Sierra Air and keep up the great work.

Disappointed with Sierra Air, my wife joined their Home Comfort for several hundred dollars per year. They installed our water heater and air conditioner. She called today to get our air conditioner turned on. They can not send a tech out until August. That would be over 3 months and towards the end of Summer. I am recently disabled and on Oxygen 24/7.

We live in Donner Springs where they are located. She told them to forget it, went outside with our grandson and unwrapped the air conditioner, turned it on and with in minutes had it working. Very disappointed with their scheduling. She did call them back told them about my disability so they put her on a waiting list. Really if they are doing that good they need to hire more technicians.

Still gave them three stars, when they do come out they are very good. Update on my post, wife spoke to Rickey and he handled the issue immediately. A service man will be here tomorrow. Excellent customer service skills. Will upgrade my post from 3 Stars to 5 Stars.

I used Sierra Air to replace my HVAC system. Everyone from the estimator (Will) and the installers (Ryan and Trevor) were outstanding! We almost went with a box store but the quote from Sierra Air was comparable. And the service was well worth it. Ryan and Trevor were on time, professional, cleaned up thoroughly and explained my new unit completely. Nobody likes spending a good chunk of $ on these things but they made it a little less painless. That's how you do good business. Thank you

Unfortunately, I have ended my long patronage of Sierra Air. I had been a member of the home comfort club, with a monthly fee, for many years. This fee allows for certain benefits that have dwindled to being useless and just a way for the business to make money without providing service. Last year, I could not get an appointment for our furnace service (comfort club gets two service checks a year) until February (middle of winter).

This circumstance put our "cycle" off, and a scheduler advised us to forego our Air Conditioning service to "reset" our cycle. Today I called for a service on our furnace for the winter, and I was told I could not have one, as I already did in February. It seemed an easy thing to fix, as I did not have my A/C serviced; just move that service to my furnace, and the A/C to next spring seems to be a reasonable solution given the difficulty in getting appointments.

The manager that called me back said the solution I asked for was not allowed and began a long-winded explanation regarding scheduling, which had never been explained in the past. She said customers should be scheduling their furnace checks in June due to demand, which negates the need to pay them monthly if there is no priority given to those paying for that privilege.

I asked several times why this "protocol" is not explained to comfort club members, and I received a half-hearted apology. The easy fix would have been to allow me to use my A/C service for my furnace service (the Techs perform the same actions) and keep a long-standing customer. I have been a customer since 2015, and in the beginning, the service was phenomenal.

The appointments were not "months" out as they are now, and I felt the monthly fee was well worth it. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case. The only positive is they agreed to refund my fees for the comfort club, and I will move on to another service provider.

If you have a furnace or air conditioner, consider calling Sierra Air and sign up for the Home Comfort Club. For less than $19/month, a friendly, considerate, knowledgeable service person will perform routine checkup maintenance on your equipment twice a year( a/c and furnace). The partial invoice for my a/c unit is below: Work Description: REPLACED FILTER. CHECKED THERMOSTAT, TIGHTENED ELECTRICAL, CHECKED DISCONNECT SWITCH, CAPACITOR, CONTACTOR. CHECKED COMPRESSOR AND CONDENSER FAN MOTOR START LOAD AMPS AND RUN LOAD AMPS. WASHED CONDENSER COIL.

Also included is guaranteed service 24/7/365 without any overtime/holiday rates charged, and discounts on parts if needed. The peace of mind alone is well worth the cost. I appreciate their friendly, prompt service, and they are LOCAL! Even if you don't sign up for the "club", these guys are the ones to call for all your HVAC needs.

I'm giving them three stars because I'm averaging four stars for the response time of coming out same day and fixing our A/C same day (Weekday not a weekend or holiday though) with two stars for the fact that the price was pretty steep in my opinion. Long story short, it was the fan capacitor but the total cost was $300! $70 for visit (we have a contract so it's a little cheaper than the typical visit charge) and $230 for labor and part!

I had to work a twelve hour day the next day and we didn't notice it not working until 8pm that night and would have not had that part or I could have done it myself. That's like less than half hour of work and a maybe $20 part if that. I guess I'll order some capacitors and have them on hand so I don't get myself in this situation again. We already had got a contract with them and our first service (a/c cleaning etc) is coming up and will update review at that time.

Happy Happy Happy! I was giving a next day appointment after calling. All the other companies in town (Winnemucca) are at least 2 weeks out for anything having to do with air conditioning. Our technician Joe Bryant was super knowledgeable on what he was working on and explained everything that was doing and what was going wrong with my a/c unit. He saved me thousands of dollars!

Instead of just throwing a bunch of expensive parts at it he tested the components thought to be bad and confirmed exactly what was wrong with it. Just want to say Thanks again and great job Sierra Air also shout out to Joe Bryant for making me cool again. pun intended! Great job keep it up. This is exactly what Winnemucca needed.

Sierra Air is awesome to work with. I have had them out to both our houses for service and they have always been excellent. The service is second to none. Tony has gone above and beyond for us when we really needed it and our heater stopped working in the middle of winter.

I called this morning and they got someone over quickly to get my AC up which was down after the long weekend. He was professional, polite, and courteous. I also had him put a suggested addition on my pump to extend the life of it.

I've been doing business with Sierra Air for more than five years. They have consistently exceeded my expectations. Their technicians are thoroughly trained and can/will explain their test results and note whether or not they are normal or out of range.

Excellent AC/Furnace company! They replaced an old furnace in one day and suggested other updates that would improve efficiency. Very knowledgeable - very friendly. Certainly not the least expensive company, but they do quick, friendly, and quality work.

Too expensive, a $20 part (furnace igniter) at Home Depot, charge me of $357.75 and a service fee of $135 service pay is ok but the parts is too much.

Sierra Air is the best we EVER encountered. We just purchased an 11 year old home. It had gone thru 3 prior owners. We were pretty sure our ducts had never been cleaned. Pets were also part of the families who had lived here before.

Sierra Air Conditioning and Heating is by far the best HVAC company in the N. Nevada area. We have been using them for years and they are just fantastic. If you have any geothermal questions weather they be about heating or cooling they can help out.

Sierra Air Heaing and Cooling is great for all air conditioning and heating repairs, sales or installs. They do geothermal heating and cooling with duct work cleaning in reno/sparks and carson city. I use them for all my rentals in Northern Nevada.
