Nothing but great things to say about the paint job Prim did on the interior of our house. They painted all the walls on our 1st floor and the baseboards. Very professional and all the paint came out perfectly. Melvin and his crew were absolutely the best. Before the project, we were concerned a bit because their bid was significantly lower than the other 2 that we received, even without the 20% discount they had going on at the time. But, after day 1, I could tell the crew really knew what they were doing.

The finished product was amazing. It's rare these days that a business exceeds your expectations but Prim Painting did just that. Prim painted the interior of our home, walls, trim, painted doors: finished basement, first and second floors, and garage. Every step of the process went fine, and the price was fair. We received quotes from 3 companies to paint our exterior trim and repair a few damaged trim boards. After reviewing the quotes, we went with Prim, primarily due to their outstanding 5-star reviews. They warned us in advance that they were overbooked and running several months behind. After about 2 months, Aaron showed up at 7am one morning (without notice) to repair the rotting trim boards.

He did a fantastic job and I was very impressed with his workmanship. A few days later, the painting crew arrived (also without notice) to apply the quoted 2 coats of paint to our trim. They applied 1 coat (missed several spots entirely on our chimney) and left our yard, roof and gutters littered with paint scrapings. We just assumed they were coming back the next day to apply the quoted 2nd coat and finish cleaning up.

After several days, we contacted Prim and were surprised to discover that they were in fact complete and the 4 areas of missing paint on the chimney were the result of wood that was 'too far gone' to paint. I was a bit skeptical, especially since one the the missed areas was on the metal (not wood) chimney cap. However since our chimney is 30 feet tall, I took their word for it and agreed to have Aaron come back out to repair. Aaron arrived several weeks later (also without notice) and started on the 'necessary' repairs.

When he was finished replacing 6 additional trim boards on the chimney, I was shocked to discover that only 1 of the 4 areas 'too far gone' were actually repaired. According to Aaron, the wood on the other areas was perfectly fine and were just missed by a 'sloppy crew' (his words, not mine). See attached photos from AFTER Aaron completed his chimney repairs Ultimately, the job is complete and looks good.

However I only received 1 of the 2 quoted coats and ended up having additional boards replaced which were likely not necessary. Both of these failures are the result of the 'sloppy crew'. I tried to express my frustrations multiple times via voicemail and email, however they fell on deaf ears. I am assuming the poor communication and poor workmanship (aside from Aaron) are the result of Prim being overbooked beyond capacity. Obviously other have had tremendous experiences, we were just stuck with the short straw.

Prim Painting was responsive throughout the whole process from the quote to the finished product. They picked up on every small detail from caulking the ceiling due to a crack to taping over everything, literally everything! Our job needed cathedral ceilings painted and three layers painted on the living room, entry way, and most of our second floor. The job was completed in one day. They are a company of integrity and great quality of service. We'd highly recommend for future projects.

I had Prim paint the exterior of my home. They were very efficient and their crew was very polite. Prim let me know when I fit into their schedule and they followed through as expected. The paint job looks wonderful and I couldn't be more pleased.

Would not recommend. We used them for interior jobs and were happy. So we hired them to paint our exterior. The $4000 estimate we received was high, but we felt it was worth it for a thorough and top of the line job. We have a 1900sqf Tudor that is about 2/3 brick, but it has lots of windows and exterior doors and the typical Tudor architectural details--all of which needed a paint job.

As the process continued though, we learned that the doors weren't included in the estimate. I'm angry about that but, with hindsight, I can see that the estimate could be read to exclude them. So I take responsibility for not being careful enough in my review--although it makes no sense to me that we would have received an estimate excluding those items in the first place, particularly because they were in the worst shape by far.

We ended up paying another $300+ (on top of the $4,000) to have them repaint the doors because I just felt too defeated to find someone else. Then, when we get the invoice, there's a surprise $150 charge for painting a window overhang--strangely, we have 4 identical overhangs and PrimPainting seems to have taken the position that the quote only included 3 of them(?), despite the quote not specifically mentioning the overhangs at all.

The whole thing seemed underhanded and full of hidden nickel-and-diming, but with hundreds of dollars. Worst part: they didn't scrape or sand the flaking paint, just painted over it. Total scam.

I am writing a review for my elderly client who had some work done on his house by PrimPainitng. These are his words: "What a terrific job those workers did on my deck. I watched them from my kitchen while they worked. From the power washing of the deck [which was done two weeks prior to the staining] to the staining, it was done professionally & timely.

The painters were so detailed while reaching into every crevice of my deck. I have a large Wisteria that has wrapped around one of the posts.the painters worked carefully to stain the areas of the wood you could still see among the branches. I have had Prim do 2 jobs for me in the past year. The first was an office the second on was the interior of my house. Both times, the quote was reasonable and the job was done on time and with no surprise add on charges.
