O'Neill Plumbing O'Neill Plumbing was originated in 1917 by James O'Neill. After working out of his home for several years, it became clear that he needed a shop. Times were good, indoor plumbing systems were on the upswing and construction of new homes made it apparent that West Seattle was a good place for a local plumber.

The first shop was located adjacent to the now Husky Deli at the junction. Times have changed and so has the business. Presently operating three divisions consisting of service, contracting and underground utilities is much more complex than business years ago. Still a local community business concentrating its efforts in West Seattle, it has expanded to include the greater Seattle area and the Eastside.

We had an old hose bibb that was dripping and a ball valve that was supposed to shut off the water to that hose bibb that was no longer shutting off completely. I had someone from another plumbing company out earlier in the week for an unrelated drainage issue (I wish I had contacted O'Neill for that one as well). They gave a rough estimate of $12-1500 for the repair, but then never got back to me like they said they would.) On a T&M basis that seemed quite high, and he gave me a mealy-mouthed response about cost of materials, labor (even though I knew their hourly rate) and that they guarantee their work.

I found O'Neill and gave them a call. They said the job sounded pretty straightforward and estimated at the most an hour per part of the job but said they would come out to give a free estimate. Colin and Frank arrived in the time window they said and quickly came up with an estimate of an hour total labor plus parts. That included cutting into the inside wall to replace the hose bib properly instead of unscrewing the old one from the pipe coming out of the house and putting on a non-frost free one, which the other guy wanted to do. Colin found a bit of an issue with the way the pipe was inside the wall and suggested that it would be a better fix if they went further back along the wall.

All of this without adding to the additional time estimate. When all was said and done, we have a new valve under the house and a new frost free hose bibb, all for less than half what the other guy said it might cost. If I need a plumber again in the future, I know who I will call.

I contracted with O'Niell Plumbing to replace my sewer line. The project was done on time, the crew did quality work, cleaned up at the end of each day, was very easy to work with and kept me informed as to their progress. I would highly recommend O'Neill Plumbing.

Great experience both times I had O'Neill help me with a repair. The plumbers appeared to be experts in their field and were very courteous and friendly. The pricing appears to be fair and the job was done right. I will use again. Service: Shower repair

Bobby, Frank and Julian came out and saved.the.day. I called 12 other companies and they all said they wouldn't touch the problem (septic flooding into the backyard) because the system was old and we are in the city of seattle. I have used O'Neill many times, it just didn't occur to me they would look at my septic. When I called them for a referral, they said "we'll come look at it!" They sent a superhero.

You know you are off to a good start when you get the guy who just looks like he has been doing this for a while, he gives you a big smile, and says over and over " We are going to get to the bottom of this!" The other companies charged $450 just to show up and O'Neill came out and troubleshooted for quite a while and charged me NOTHING. They came back the next day and flushed the system (no one else wanted to try) and it worked!

I am a seriously grateful homeowner. For more serious customer service examples, while some of the guys set up, Bobby walked around my new (old) house and helped me figure out the main water shut off, turned the irrigation back on for the spring, and looked at my malfunctioning water heater all while never once seeming condescending. Lastly, they had to stretch a hose across the sidewalk so Julian stayed at the street all day to make sure no one tripped! To keep himself busy he swept my entire driveway. I couldn't make this stuff up. Good guys, good job done. Thank you!

We called O'Neill's at Midnight and they had a team here the next day to fix our very clogged kitchen sink. A big thanks to Reyde, Farmer and Bobby for jumping in on short notice and clearing our stubborn fat berg. Our sink is finally draining normally again! Service: Drain cleaning

Burst hose bib stopped Spring yard cleanup. Called O'Neill and they were on-site in under 90 minutes, replacing the hose bib in under an hour, despite the difficulty of working from a crawl space. Service: Plumbing leak repair

Phenomenal Customer Service O'Neill Plumbing lined our old sewer line with plastic in West Seattle in 2018. In February of 2022 we had a sewer inspection prior to putting our house on the market and were surprised to hear that there were roots in our line. I called O'Neill plumbing the same day and got a call back from Bob who said they would take care of it.

The very next day a crew of three showed up at the house. They pinpointed the problem location in our line and then dug down to the line and repaired the compromised portion of the line. The crew of three spent the better part of the day at the house, the hole they had to dig was quite deep. The next day another gentlemen from O'Neill Plumbing brought by some top soil to fill in the top of the hole dug the day earlier. My wife and I have had O'Neill Plumbing perform other plumbing work over the years and we have never had a negative experience. We recommend them without reservation.

I made a really dumb mistake of forgetting to disconnect a hose from an outdoor faucet right before our temps got down to 20 degrees. Recipe for a burst pipe at 3am! Ugh. I started calling around to places at 4am and O'Neill was the only service using a real employee to respond to the overnight emergency number (most use a call service who have no connection to the business).

Not only did they call me back a couple of times to let me know they were trying to schedule around a major snow and freezing event, they surprised and delighted me by letting me know that they had a cancellation and could fit me in by 1pm. 2 members of their crew rolled up right at the time I was told and had the pipe replaced and my water back on within 30 minutes.

They also didn't charge a "cold weather extra fee" like I was expecting based on reviews from so many other plumbing services. Thank you O'Neill Plumbing! I will sure to call you first this spring when I am ready to replace some galvanized pipes.

We have used these folks for plumbing for at least 15 years. They have always gotten to us as expediently as they could. The work has always been done by professional and courteous plumbers. Their work has always held up. I can't give a higher recommendation, really. In today's episode, I had raw sewage backed up into my bathtub. I called them first thing on a Monday - they were already full, so I went on their waitlist.

I was called less than 2 hours later saying they had a plumber available. Nels and Connor were the awesome plumbers they sent this time. I got a full explanation of what was going on, and suggestions on how to go easy on our pipes in the future. The problem itself was quickly resolved. (I also learned that a disposal is not a magic space age food obliterating laser gun, but something that does a mediocre job of chopping some stuff up and not really doing anything to prevent pipe blockages.)

I called for a running toilet and unfortunately the part that was needed wasn't in their stock for weeks. They were able to offer an alternative solution. We were able to order online sooner and will attempt to fix on our own. I appreciated the same day appointment and professionalism by Farmer and Reed. They understood our need to get the parts in sooner. They only charge if they perform the work. I'm going to reach out to O'Neill in the future. (I've used another plumbing company and they charge just to give me an estimate)

I used O'Neil this summer to re-pipe, install new kitchen and bath fixtures, new drains under kitchen and bathroom sinks, new water heater, new outside faucets in home. Re-pipe was to be done in crawl space--which is very difficult since the work is performed in awkward positions. I had stressed to the service manager as the re-pipe was being done should the plumber come across anything else that should be repaired/replaced to notify myself for authorization to repair.

After the entire job was completed, O'Neil had to come back twice once to repair leaking kitchen drain and repair tub drain. The tub drain repair was a separate job. My question to the service manager why was this tub drain not noticed by plumber since the re-pipe was directly under the corroded tub drain? There was no insulation or sub flooring blocking the corroded tub drain.

I never received a satisfactory answer from service manager. Fast forward to Dec 27 2021. Frozen pipes throughout house. I was extremely upset since I had spent over 10K in this plumbing job. After 6 days without water, I went in crawl space to find the frozen pipe myself. Turns out another main shut off valve added near a crawl space access hatch and the valve was not insulated.

As made my way underneath the I discovered 90 degree fittings and tees were not insulated as well. I unfroze the uninsulated additional man-shut off valve and had finally had water flowing. I also insulated some 90 degree and tee fittings. I never contacted O'Neil about the frozen pipe issue.

Professional, courteous, and efficient. Our basement bathroom/laundry room drains started back flowing sewage on a Sunday, after Christmas, in a snowstorm. They were honest that the earliest appointment was Tuesday (but no other plumbers could come earlier either), were punctual even though they were concerned about ice on the roads, treated my home with a respect that past plumbers have not (covered their shoes, did it scratch tiles), and got the problem fixed in an hour. There's nothing like living with sewage for two days to really appreciate a good plumber!

Last night during a midnight trip to the little boy's room I realized that my normally dry bathroom had turned into a walk-in tub. There was water all over the entire floor and it was almost at the point of seeping out of the bathroom. After sacrificing a roll of paper towels to clean it up I found out the culprit was a broken shut off valve under sink.

I got online and chatted with O'Neill Plumbing's chatbot. Within ten minutes a real person wrote me back saying they would call in the morning. And they did! They called at 7:30 and there were two plumbers at my door by 8. The plumbers - Michael K. and his apprentice - were polite, quick, competent and efficient. They figured out the problem right away and got to work.

They wore masks and booties in the house. It took them about an hour from start to finish to fix the issue. I've used this company a few other times and have always had similar experiences. I know finding contractors can be super frustrating - especially for smaller jobs or emergency repairs. O'Neill makes it easy!

From initial diagnosis, to talking through repairs, to actually fixing the issue - Jeff R. went above and beyond my expectations for a gas fireplace shutoff valve repair. ONeill's bid came in less than two other highly regarded plumbers, and they even found a way to replace the valve without cutting a hole in my drywall (other plumbers said no other way to replace w/o cutting). Will definitely call Jeff & O'Neill for any additional gas plumbing, and likely any traditional water line plumbing as well.

I also had an emergency request with a clogged sink in a condominium and wanted to prevent any further damage. They were prompt and so professional. John K explained everything thoroughly. He was quick and efficient. I had just had foot surgery and I was on a knee scooter, he even offered to go to 711 for me if I needed anything. Just very kind. He also mentioned that he really liked working for his boss and a great dispatch gal as well. I believe if you like the people you work for it shows. A huge thank you to John K and this company. I would highly recommend!

So impressed with this company! We needed a hose bib fixed. They came the next day and we're so incredibly efficient and kind, and made it happen for us surprisingly quick and for far less then we expected. I will be going to O'Neill's for all our plumbing needs from this point on.

I waited 2 1/2 weeks for this company to get me scheduled for an estimate. Today when I called to confirm they are coming between 12 and 2, they didn't see my name. Then he looked up my address and said the estimator was out of the office all week. They never bothered to call me to change the date. It took me calling them! My brother drove 150 miles round trip to meet with the estimator who is a no show.

This company cannot be relied upon to keep a scheduled commitment. There is no way I could trust them to keep to a bathroom remodel time commitment that relies on cooperation with another vendor who will be doing tile work.

These guys are fantastic. KJ showed up right on time, went right to work and finished the job in record time. He tested everything to make sure it was in good working order before he left. I ended up paying a lot less than I had anticipated. I have used O'Neill before and never had a bad experience. They're my favorite company to recommend. I give them my highest recommendation. Thank you O'Neill and thank you KJ.

I needed a plumber fast to fix a leaking faucet. I had heard about O'Neill Plumbing on a local home improvement radio show. I thought they might only be interested in major remodel jobs, but that thought couldn't be further from the truth. I called and spoke with a representative named Kellie. She was very nice and professional. Much to my surprise, I was able to get an appointment the day I called. Todd and Jordan arrived right around the time Kellie said they would.

Both were very pleasant and accommodating and a pleasure to speak with. They made the repair very quickly and with no mess to clean up after. I found the entire service call to be completely satisfying and stress-free. I wish to thank Todd, Jordan, Kellie, and everyone at O'Neill Plumbing and hope to have you service all of my future plumbing needs. Thank you again, and please take care and stay safe!

These people are pathetic. No service. No customer service. For service - I met with them to discuss a whole house water filtration system and they said I needed to figure for myself what parts and system to use. So no service. For customer service - I did do my own research and selected a system and corresponded with Jeff Richter and about the parts and then he just disappeared.

His last correspondence to me was that I should buy 40 feet of pipe - that's right 40 feet! As if I were doing the whole neighborhood. So no customer service either. If you care about the people you interact with - then I highly suggest you keep looking.

After having another plumbing company attempt to resolve my clogged kitchen sink drain, I reached out to O'Neill. I was able to quickly schedule an appointment and John Keigley came to my home to diagnose and fix the issue I was having. John was able to fix my drain in under 30 minutes while the other plumbing company took over 2 hours and did not resolve my problem. John took the time to explain what the problem was, offer clear and friendly advice about the issue, and charged a very fair fee. I cannot recommend O'Neill Plumbing enough, and John is an excellent plumber and kind man. 5 stars!

Todd and Jordan were able to get here just over an hour after I called on Saturday afternoon with an emergency request - I can't imagine a better response time, and none of the other 4 companies I called could even come close. They were thorough, explained everything they did like I deserved the info as the homeowner but not as though I were dumb or uninformed - other middle aged women who've dealt with less skilled communicators understand what I'm talking about! Todd and Jordan were responsive to my requests, offering services with clear info on what things cost and how long they'd take. I absolutely recommend O'Neill.

When I called, I was told about the company's time and materials policy. I just wanted to feng shui an ugly nonfunctioning little water heater by getting rid of it and making a cubby in the unused space for my laundry basket. An electrician had assured me that what I needed was a plumber since the water heater was not connected. I assumed the job would take half an hour and that would be an okay price for the job.

Two men came, took a few photos and and told me they couldn't do the job because it required an electrician to move wires. Their 15 minutes was charged at $185. What I hadn't realized was that all the wires hanging down were live and the electrical box would have to be moved permanently to do what I wanted. Not worth it. I am 72. I recall when venders would give estimates free in order to try to win business.

I try to do most things myself because when men come to do it, I get ripped off, but usually they do something. I just got through shingling my shed roof for less that what it took for these two "plumbers" to do nothing, take my money, and not feel bad about it. The time-and-materials company is now off my list.

I have used O'Neill plumbing on several occasions both at my primary home and my rental, and have always had amazing service. Most recently I had an issue with my sink at home and I had to have it looked at twice. The second time they sent someone who spent an hour there to make sure that it was all working properly, and the company did not even charge me for the follow up!

Their service is impeccable, all of the people I have dealt with are courteous, knowledgeable and simply wonderful, which is rare these days. I highly highly recommend this company.

On the quality of the staff, I have to give them high marks. However, their visit fee is pretty high compared with other local firms (I found out subsequently) and although they assessed the problem the first visit, they then needed to order the parts and then charged the full service fee again for the second visit.nearly $700 to replace a spare part that cost less than $50.there must be a better way.!

Responsive and quick, showed up early for both the estimate and the repair. Quoted us less than other companies for a hot water heater replacement and were able to fit us in first thing the next morning. They were clean and respectful in our house and followed all Covid safety guidelines. Did a great job in a surprisingly quick time. Couldn't ask for more, we will definitely be hiring them again

The one star is for the actual physical service of threading a pipe which they completed and so far seems to be working fine. If I could give O'Niell Plumbing a negative star on customer service, I would. They have a major communication breakdown in their office, from general questions, scheduling and billing. Expect to be surprised when you get your bill with unexpected charges/tool rental fee, and expect to get the runaround and blamed for them being late, not showing up or misunderstanding about what you're being charged for. I can't even go into details about how many communication breakdowns I had with them because it would surely surpass the allowed character count limit.

It's been a while since I've needed a plumber, but I have used O'Neill before. For me, what began as a slow draining tub, then became a fully clogged tub. I tried to snake the drain myself, but couldn't get it cleared. I think that I lucked out in calling O'Neill, as they came and tried with their commercial snake, but then after further review, needed to run a camera down the drain.

This is where the fun began. The tech showed me the camera footage, and he said that you shouldn't be able to see dirt/soil from your drain, doh. I guess my 100-year old house and the cement sewer drains had given way. At this point you have an option: you can do this liner thing where they fix it through the existing pipe, or you can replace all the pipe.

In my case the cost was about the same so I had them replace the whole thing, from my house to the middle of the street. It cost about $11,000 and tore up my yard, but I was very happy with the service and the price provided by O'Neill. Particularly when I saw my neighbor having to do the same thing, but he had to pay $20,000.

Nelson came by this morning and, while my appointment was for 8:00 I received a phone call yesterday saying he would be at my house between 8:00 and 8:30. Not ideal. So he showed up at 8:20 to effectively replace my toilet innards. I had to rush out to get to work this morning, but it appears as though he did a good job, and left the toilet functioning and now using less water per flush with my new hardware!

Will update if the toilet condition changes. The reason for a three star instead of a four star review is the price. $280 per hour. I was expecting about $100-120 an hour, and I think the most expensive plumber I've had before this was something along the lines of $150/hr. I've had someone come in and replace an entire toilet before for under $200. So, including the one part he had on hand that I needed, the bill was $332. I'm trying to do the math, and I'm struggling.

A $90,000/yr salary would be $43/hr. Add overhead of 200% for truck, tools, office, health insurance, etc, and you're at $130/hr. Even with travel to and from, which is about 10 minutes from the office, and I'm at $173 for an hour of work. Uh uh, nope.

John was very efficient and cleared everything in less than 1/2 hour and with some time left he took a look at my water heater. It was a tough clog because I tried to clear it myself removing some pipes and using a manual snake. I wish I had called O'Neill's earlier and saved myself the time. I've worked with them before and would work with them again.
