McQuillan is absolutely fantastic! The technicians are so professional and utmost friendly and courteous. The quality is bar none. They were the best working team I have ever been around. My only disappointment, is that I didn't get to meet and shake hands with the two McQuillan brothers. They can truly be proud of their staff. My wife and I truly appreciate the quality of the product. Thank you all! Sincerely, . Bruce and Jackie Thatcher

I had two technicians come out for unrelated repairs. Derek for electrical work and Mike for plumbing. Both were very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional! They were able to identify each of my issues and they both gave me more than one option for repairs with a clear and concise estimate. Derek stuck around for me to install my Ring doorbell to make sure it was getting the adequate voltage to function properly, we both were excited when it powered right up!

It was a source of much frustration for me when I couldn't get it to work properly prior to scheduling an appt with McQuillan Bros. Mike was able to install a new downspout in my shower and improve my water pressure quite quickly. He had me check it out prior to him leaving as well and I was happy with the job! Pricing was fair and work was fast but VERY well done. I'm looking forward to using this company again for future projects!

I purchased a new AC unit because the sales guy offered me a great deal. Even though my old AC unit was still working fine, it was old and I was worried it would break down and I would miss this great offer. Paid almost $5000.00 and I have had to call Mcquillan bros. EVERY single summer to fix something that goes wrong with unit since the new AC installation.

Of course it's always the hottest days of the start of the season that I turn the unit on for the first time and find that it doesn't work! For some reason it's always that the air doesn't get cold or the AC unit isn't spinning! I have to call a tech out and every year pay $200 + for service! This year I called and I got a Friday service appointment and they gave me a window of 8am to 4pm.

I sat by my phone all day, and even called the company 3 times to make sure they were coming.and what do you know. 3:30pm on Friday I'm told they couldn't get anyone out and I'd have to wait for Monday! They sure are accommodating and super nice when they are selling you the unit but when you call for service when the unit doesn't work properly you get dumped into voice mails, passed around to 4 different representatives, lied to and ignored.

Oh yea and you sit ALL day for a tech that NEVER shows up. I decided to call another company, my air is now working and I don't have to wait until Monday in a hot house for Mcquillan bros to service the unit they installed! If you don't have to use this company I would suggest that you shop around.

I called with multiple plumbing issues and was able to get the date & time that was convenient for me which has not been my experience with plumbers in the past. The front office folks were professional and communication was was great. Don Doty was personable and listened to my project list. He gave me straight forward information and provided reasonable quotes along with advise on future projects I have in mind.

He completed the work quickly and with quality. While plumbing work is expensive, it usually doesn't pan out to use someone who may be cheaper because you get what you pay for and plumbing done right is important. I will definitely use McQuillan Bros again and will be signing up with their Home Care Club!

Best price I could find, and they installed next day. Good customer service; they had a rubber mat for the stairs and took the time to keep my house clean. Polite install crew that did a little bit of extra work to make the finished install look good. It's rare to have contractors treat an install like it's their own house but that's how it felt. Would recommend to anyone.

The technician that came out was nice. He spent about 45 minutes showing me pictures of fish he caught. The job I had to have done wasn't too incredibly complicated, just put a T valve in. He quoted me a price of $375.00 I almost fell off my couch! I had a handyman service do it for $75.00 Nice guy, just a bit rich for my pocketbook. He said the price was that high because he didn't have the part that he needed and would have to run to Menards and buy it. Um, sir that's not really my problem and I don't feel I should pay for you to go shopping for a part that you said yourself that you should have in your van.

They are terrible! please save yourselves. they came in and installed a brand new system for air conditioning in our house last year and could not figure out what the issues were as the system leaked and would not work. They had to come out 10 times to try to fix it and at one point when I would call them they stopped returning phone call.we installed a 17000 dollar system and this year its leaking again but I will not have them come back to our house. worst Experience ever, will report them to Better Business Bureau.

I'd say the quality of their work is good, but I'd be cautious to trust them with their recommendations and pricing. Spend your money wisely and go elsewhere. I've had a number of services completed with them and suspected that I was paying too much; even after negotiating. My most recent bid for a humidifier replacement was 3x the quotes I received from two other reputable HVAC companies ($1800).

Even with a discount (for a part they repaired the week prior that didn't fix the problem), their bid was still 2x as much ($1200). When I asked why their pricing was so high, I was told it was because they'd need a permit, etc. A permit is not necessary based on my other two bids. The other companies quoted me $750-800 for reference. McQuillan techs also recommend a gamut of additional repairs each time they visit.

I tried calling back to talk to a manager to discuss my past two visits and was told someone would call me back. This company isn't passing the smell check. My personal opinion is that it's a money grab and all of their technicians are incentivized to tell you things are broken when they are not. Their team seems talented; but management is training them that commission is more important than operating a fair and respectable business. Update: Three business days later and still no word from their Customer Service/Manager who was supposed to call me back.

My humidifier that was "turned off" by the technician continues to leak water which I discovered today - there's an entire pool of water now in the basement from this leak (did they not know how to properly turn off a water line?). If they weren't going to fix it, they should have at least disconnected the system that wasn't working and ensured the leak was stopped (or told me they couldn't get it to stop). Both visits the technician did not bring me back to the HVAC unit to visually discuss/review what was completed during the visit. I'm beyond irate with McQuillan Bros.

A McQuillan plumber came to give me a bid and was able to install a new toilet immediately. He was great to work with. While he started the job, I went to Lowe's for the toilet. Service oriented and a very responsive office team when I had a billing question. Highly recommend.

I could not be more pleased with my recent experience with the HVAC team from McQuillan Bros.! Dave, Shawn, Steven, Jake, Keagan, and Kou were all incredible to work with on a very complicated and extensive project to install two separate High Velocity A.C.units as well as a dehumidifier in a traditional home that was built in 1929 and had never been updated before.

The team consistently came up with creative solutions for complicated structural challenges in ways that honored the aesthetics and preserved the architectural integrity of the home. They went above and beyond to do things the BEST way, which was often much more involved, more physically demanding and laborious, and certainly much more time-consuming.

In fact, they wound up working a full extra day in order to make certain that every single design wish was met. On top of that, we had many laughs along the way, and felt I could trust them completely in my home. Besides being extraordinarily skillful at what they do, they also demonstrated great character. While many contractors are often under pressure to work as quickly (and as cheaply) as possible to get a job done, the customer then suffers the consequences of a poorly executed plan - or work that is imprecise or inconsistent. However, my team from McQuillan Bros. worked with incredible speed, never once wasting time, while making sure to communicate with me fully and frequently about my options throughout the entire project.

From venting the HVAC in the attic in such a creative way as to ensure I did not lose any floor space, to helping me determine the very best placement for the compressor and dehumidifier to maximize their effectiveness, to choosing the best placement for the supplies and returns (as well as the registers) in precisely measured and uniformly symmetrical ways, I can say that I was thoroughly impressed by the workmanship and quality of my HVAC team! These guys were EXCEPTIONAL to work with, and I would not hesitate to recommend them with my highest stamp of approval! They won't disappoint.

Larry was the gentleman that serviced the humidifier on our furnace. Larry was very professional, personable and went the extra mile to explain what he had done and how I could change our system from season to season. I would call on this company and Larry for any future issue should they arise as well as highly recommend this company.

Steve was great and thorough. He explained everything very well. He replaced the water heater anode at a price of $597.48, which I thouhgt was high at the time, and it took about 15 minutes. I was shocked when I checked the price of a water heater anode at Home Depot and found it was $42. I like McQuilan's maintenance service but in the future I will be getting a 2nd estimate on any repairs.

Two techs from McQuillan bros came to install a furnace & AC at my house today. Troy & Steve came right on time, were very professional and knocked the job out in the time that they advised. They cleaned up the mess that inevitably comes w/ any installation and then hung around to answer all of my questions. I would recommend this company to anyone, and if they do, to request Troy & Steve.

Great experience! Service: Repair water heater

Clint and Mike at McQuillan did a wonderful job installing a new boiler and new fin tubing and baseboards in my home. The project took two separate visits and about 3 days total since I ordered some of the materials myself for the baseboard installation, but they scheduled me quickly once my supplies arrived. Not only did they walk me through any issues or trouble spots with my install, they took the time to show me my options and customized the baseboard install to suit the space.

They communicated well and consistently so I could understand what was happening. I had them install new baseboards and the end result looks great and exceeded my expectations. I'd definitely recommend this company, the service from both sales and the technicians themselves was excellent from start to finish on my project.

So. This is about being out and about in a van labeled McQuillan Bros. I was cut off in traffic to a point where I had to slam on my brakes. I snapped a picture at the next stop light but there's no license plate on the vehicle. A little later the vehicle had pulled into a turn lane and I passed it. The driver was on his phone and not watching at all.

I don't know if this is representative of being to busy or something else. I do know that the way a person acts in public reflects on their place of work. How can I be expected to trust this company to work on my home if employees are not careful/respectful when driving?

This is a continuation of the same project: We hired them for a gas line pressure test. We're $6000 in so far. They left on Friday without finishing or communicating with us. I called 4x on Saturday and requested a call back with their answering service, no response. Monday morning I called at 0806. I was told my project was on their schedule for this afternoon.

I asked why not first thing this morning as my tenant has been out of hot water since Saturday. I asked for a manager. The managers were in a meeting and couldn't talk to me. Karen said she'd have someone there between 11-1. Steve and Troy came out. It's 2:35pm. I have just been told the crew that came out can't do the work and now it's scheduled for tomorrow.

The manager still hasn't called me. My tenant will be out of hot water and gas for at least 1 more day. You're gambling if you hire them. They don't care about their customer service. They don't care about you. They'll take your money and won't back up their work or service.

Mike and his whole team delivered above and beyond what we expected. The tradesman did a fantastic job installing the new boiler. We have dealt with several different companies at multiple properties and this was by far the best experience. We will be using McQuillan in the future for all of our HVAC needs. When the guys finally arrived, they were great. Getting them to my house was an astonishingly painful chain of bungled appointments, rescheduling, and miscommunication. At some point they finally showed up to replace my chimney liner but. didn't bring a new chimney liner! (What?!) That said, the person who did the rescheduling was very nice, and the guys who did the work did a good job. But everything in between was absolutely exhausting and frustrating.

Second time they have not shown up for a scheduled appt. we're supposed to be here between 7&8 am to repair gas leak & they don't call & it's impossible to get a hold of them. I live about an hour away from the property the work is at, so super inconvenient!

A zero star review would be more fair, because no work was ever done. I made an appointment a about a week out. it is busy in all service areas, so I was fine with this timing. I took the afternoon off from work, to be home for their appointment. About half an hour before the visit, the scheduler called and told me that the service person had a family emergency.

We re-rescheduled in a few days. On the second day, I again was able to take the afternoon off. Again, a short while before the appointment, I received a call about the technician's family emergency. This seemed a bit fishy, because if it was the same emergency, wouldn't they have known it was continuing? Well, I was desperate by now, to get the problem fixed. Yes, it happened a THIRD time. Shame on me for allowing it. Clearly, this was an excuse that people like me would believe. I refused a fourth appointment, and changed to another company.

Really surprised by the reviews all over the place, we had a great experience with McQuillan Bros. I needed two boilers inspected and certified in my duplex, and after calling for a few quotes, they were the cheapest by far. During the inspection, there was a piece that was broken, and they had the part on them and were able to fix it right away. We didn't need to make a second appointment or deal with any hassle. I would definitely use them again.

Called with a furnace outage on a Sunday on the coldest day of the year. Promised they'd come by 5pm and they never leave people in a bind and always work Sundays. Never showed. Kept calling up until 10pm. Still said they were coming. Showed up the next day. No apologies. Then they just wanted to sell me a new furnace. Not interested in repairing what you have, just selling new equipment. Be aware that many furnaces warranty their parts and companies selling furnaces fail to mention. You have to ask.

Their service guy came to do a boiler tune-up check and the quote to fix it was so high that I decided to get a new one. Their salesman happened to be close by, so he came ASAP and sat me down with a fancy brochure. The quote was insultingly high. It really was. I was baffled - I am still baffled. The very nice salesman said that they may not be the cheapest because they did an extra fine job, explained some technical stuff that he implied was unique to their service as well as the fact that they will put drop clothes down, clean up after themselves, etc.

But all of the companies I'd talked to do all of this. It's pretty standard. I told the salesman the price was too high and. I was in luck - something or other had been missed and there was now a slight price reduction. I went with another company and the company I went with was scratching their head about the McQuillan quote as well. If you want reasonable pricing - go somewhere else.

Bad experience and complete loss of trust. We called McQuillan Bros. for a simple task: move our water pressure tank so we could have drain tile installed in our basement. The technician arrived without the equipment needed to do the job and gave us an estimate for $2000. This is what they wanted to move the tank and then move it back?!? The drain tile company thought the estimate was way off and was kind enough to let us move our install which (was scheduled the next day!) We are so grateful Rite-Way helped us out when this company put us in a really bad position.

When the plumber eventually left he gave us an estimate for $18,000 worth of work. We just wanted a tank moved and maybe a new water heater. It was ridiculous. Also a platinum, gold, silver level of service $$$. Very old school sales tactics (We offer financing!) and they essentially wasted our time. I'll update this post when we get a plumber in here prepared to do the job and not try and charge what are horrible almost criminal prices.

Do yourself a favor and do not use this company. We wished we didn't. UPDATE. UPDATE. UPDATE. We ended up finding a gentleman to come out and drain, unhook and move the water pressure tank and then come back on another day and put it back and hook it up. He charged us $455. He also came out at the times we need him to. Again. Do you research, get recommendations and find the neighborhood small town plumber. McQuillan Bros. didn't have our best interests in mind.

I am not one to write reviews of businesses, negative or not, but in this case, I feel I must. During a polar vortex in Minnesota, when the temperatures dipped to -29 Fahrenheit, our steam boiler unfortunately failed. McQuillian Bros. came to our house, assessed the situation, and gave us an initial estimate of $60 K (!) to replace the boiler, which we were forced to agree to as the temperatures inside the home were already dipping below freezing.

This was later lowered to $50 K, which we are still paying. In other words, they had us over a barrel. We had either to sign a contract to pay them this exorbitant amount or risk the pipes freezing and compromising the entire house. In talking with other HVAC professionals, we learned what we had already suspected, that this was price-gouging and (really) a form of extortion. Subsequently, our insurance agency also confirmed our suspicions.

When asking McQuillan for the documentation we needed for the insurance company, McQuillan refused to provide detailed receipts for the work, and would not verify what they paid for the boiler they claimed to ship in from Pennsylvania, as well as for other parts. STAY AWAY FROM MCQUILLAN! We feel cheated.

We have an old home (1905), which we've lived in for 16 years. Recently there was a strange odor coming from the boiler. I called McQuillan Bros. The very old boiler needed to be replaced. The whole crew from start to finish, was very courteous and professional. Both Nick and Mike took the time to patiently explain everything. Nothing felt rushed. I was extremely impressed with how they cleaned up after the job was done. Josh also patiently explained how to set up the new thermostat.

After one of the owners, Matt McQuillan, unsuccessfully cleared a bathtub clog to the tune of $350.00, he drafted an estimate covering work that was necessary, and two other estimates covering additional work I was considering having done. I contacted McQuillan twice, but no response was forthcoming. While a one-star rating may seem to unfairly asses this business for what little work was done, I rate it this low for not giving me the courtesy of a reply that would have taken all of fifteen seconds. In the interest of fairness, though, this seems to be a practice that cuts across several trades, yet I think it's a shoddy way to do business.

Last fall as I prepared to deploy to the Middle East with the Minnesota National Guard, we decided to replace our boiler, so my wife wouldn’t have any added stress while I was gone. The opposite has occurred. After I left, the boiler and hot water system was installed. That went fine though they left a big hole in the floor when they removed the old boiler.

Shortly after the new boiler began having problems losing pressure and my wife smelled gas. When the pressure drops below a certain level the furnace shuts off, so the house gets cold and there is no hot water. McQuillan came out and looked at the system, determined that the expansion tank had failed and replaced it. They said the gas smell was just old pipes.
Things worked for a bit, but then started losing pressure and shutting off again. McQuillan came out, added water and the system came back on.

A week or so later, no pressure, no heat or hot water. McQuillan comes out and determines the expansion tank had failed again. It gets replaced, water added, the system is back on. They showed my wife how to add water to keep the pressure up
In asking what was causing the problem, McQuillan kept telling us that its an old house, and you have leaky radiators.

We looked. A couple of radiators had a little rust line from the valves, but no water and the pipes were dry when our carpenter touched them with a Kleenex to check for leaks or moisture. Through out the winter, this keeps happening with my wife having to regularly go down in the basement to add water. She keeps looking for any sign of water leaks around all the radiators and heating pipes.

It is frustrating and stressful. In early March, after being gone for the weekend, she came home and the boiler was out and the house near freezing. McQuillan put in an automatic fill valve to add water whenever the pressure dropped. Still insisting that the pressure loss had to be leaky radiator valves. When I heard about this from my wife I asked if they had done a pressure test on the system to try to determine where the leak was occurring. McQuillan said no, that isn’t standard procedure. (Other boiler installers said it is the standard).

We hadn’t been able to find any water leaks from any of the radiators or pipes we could see, so I didn’t want to keep pumping water in afraid that the leak might be hidden somewhere. So I had my wife turn it off unless she was going to be gone for more than a day. The pressure loss keeps happening. Also the gas smell is still there, so my wife called the gas company to come out and check.

They found not one but two leaks in the gas connection creating a danger significant enough that the gas company immediately turned off our gas in the middle of the winter. At this point McQuillan had been out to the house 6-8 time and things were still not right. We tell them the systems isn’t working and they need to start over. McQuillan goes through the system again and fixes the gas leak.

They determined that the expansion tank was actually too small for our system and replaced it with a bigger one. Soon again no pressure. Not being able to find any leaks throughout the house, but unable to account for the pressure loss, we start to consider replacing the valves that showed a little rust. But I wasn’t convinced that was the problem as we weren’t seeing any water.

We continued to push to have them reinstall the system. After the tenth+ visit to the house, McQuillan arranged to have the local rep from the boiler manufacturer come out to look at the system. During this they finally decide to do a pressure test. When the boiler was isolated and a pressure test was done, it was discovered that there was a crack inside the boiler.

This took no more than 45 minutes. The water leaking to create the pressure drop was running from the crack inside the boiler through the condensation hose to the laundry sink—which is why there was never any water on the floor. So at this point they replace the system and four radiator valves that showed some rust. We will see how this winter goes.

Regardless of whether or not it is your standard protocol to pressure test at the time you install a boiler, about the second time you were called out because of a loss of pressure it would have been the prudent thing to do to determine what the actual problem was. Certainly it should have been done before installing the auto-fill device, which only masked the problem by adding more water whenever enough had leaked out somewhere.

If there had been a hidden leak in the piping, all that continuous leaking could have led to significant damage. While they didn’t charge us to replace four radiator valves, because they didn’t pressure test the systems, we don’t know if the valves actually needed replacing. The value of replacing something that may or may not of needed replacing is speculative at best.

As a result of all this, my wife had to miss multiple days of work dealing with all these issues that we should never have had to deal with, and were exactly what we were trying to avoid with having McQuillan install a new boiler. Instead, a complete nightmare at a time when my family was under intense stress already. We still have a hole in the floor.

Not a decent company which you can trust. I enrolled their home care program during summer when our AC was broken, their only suggestion was to replace the AC because it's old. Later our friend helped us replacing one part and the AC was working fine. As our furnace was also old so I asked for their furnace safety check service, and nightmare started.

The technician put a red tag to our furnace because there was a fine cracking which could leak CO and my husband was warned to not turning on the furnace, if turning on, we took our own responsibility. It's fine, it's 20-30F outside and we have a baby and elders in the house, also we installed several CO detectors so we have to turn on the furnace.

Then we found the thermo stat lost the temp control, our furnace kept heating to near 80F unless we set up the temp to be 73. We called and complained and the company kept to claim that by law this furnace has to be shut down, and the solution they can provide is either fix it ($5000) or replace it ($7000). We were screwed-up by them after their visit, the problem is not the fine cracking, the problem is that the technician did not put back some wires in their correct positions and we lost the thermo stat control!

At least our thermo stat should work as before if they did their job. How they do the business is to sell their units and trying hard to not fix it but to replace it. I am done with this company and if you have old units running perfect at home, stop calling this company to do any test, which they want is just big project not helping you solve your issues.

My older AC unit bit the dust during one of the hottest weeks of the summer, McQuillan Brothers sent Brian out to diagnose the problem and he was incredibly friendly and thorough. There were significant problems discovered with both my heating and cooling systems due to the age; he clearly pointed out where the issues were and explained why they were a problem and required immediate attention. Andy came out to review the size of my home and what the future system requirements were.

He presented three different options of new systems and explained the differences and pros and cons of each setup. He quoted me upfront pricing on the work and put me in contact with Niall to schedule next day install. The installation team arrived promptly the next morning and quickly and efficiently removed my old system and installed a a brand new system.

They walked me through the operation of everything and gave me a clear breakdown on all that was done. It's never a fun day to hear your HVAC system requires replacement, but the friendly and professional services that were offered by McQuillan Brothers is absolutely top notch! I highly recommend this company to anyone seeking honest and quality HVAC service.

I had a leaky junction where the ice maker saddle was connected to the water source. Andy diagnosed the problem and repaired the connection. He convinced me to make additional repairs for the water pressure, which may have caused the connection to leak. Also, changes were made to the hot water heater and the buffer means on the water line. I was not prepared for such extensive work which took him many hours to complete.

The copper tubing that was removed and taken away. I would have chosen to have this recycled for credit. The label on the water pressure reducer was removed. I suspect this was the instruction label on how to adjust the water pressure should I chose to do so, Why was this removed? I appreciate the fine work and skill that Andy accomplished, but I am wondering if the work could have been more efficiently, thus at a lower cost. I do not mind paying a premium for skilled labor, but I believe the up charge on parts is much too excessive.

We recently had a significant amount of work done on the boiler system and pipes in our vintage home. We're a young family that tends to DIY, but we know when it's time to bring in the pros. McQuillan carries an excellent reputation as a skilled, honest, union shop. We had an interesting experience working with them that could have turned out very poorly.

We think it's worth singing their praises still, however, because of the manner in which they responded to what could have been a bad situation. It's always good to know that a company will correct an error if it is made. McQuillan went above and beyond. Our original bid was done by a very nice gentleman who apparently overpromised and underquoted what was to be done. Unfortunately, this didn't seem to be the first time this had happened and he was quickly let go.

The short story is that our basement pipes ended up being abated and removed by a subcontractor before McQuillan's install team caught that the correction to our problem would be FAR more expensive and difficult that had been originally discussed. We were left scared and frustrated with no heat in our home and a toddler. Within hours of the situation arising, the owner of the company was at our home personally to apologize, explain how they were going to handle it.

The project was completely in no time and we were given a very significant discount to remedy the situation. The installation professionals were thorough, profession, efficient, and friendly. Care was taken to consult with us on the placement of most every pipe to ensure it fit with our future vision and use of a very disjointed and old basement. Despite a few hiccups along the way, McQuillan came through and did wonderful work. We will certainly work with them again when we are in need of their services.

Good service.but $549.00 to install a kitchen faucet I supplied? Their guy was here 1.5 hours total. Thirty minutes of that was sampling my water and trying to upsell me. When he quoted me the $549 price I asked why so much and he said it's just the company's standard fee. Not negotiable. He knew our faucet was broken, we were in a rush (non-emergency) so I just feel McQuillan totally took advantage of my situation. Will not use or recommend them again. Make sure you get some idea how much they'll charge before you're responsible for the non-refundable $69 visit fee.

If you're in a pickle, they do it once, they do it right, and they replace it with the right parts. I was in a pickle. I paid for the $250 after hours / weekend service call, then the $718 with the $100 off coupon so $618. If you're a regular customer you get a better deal then that, but I really don't plan on being in such a bad situation again. If you're hoping for the cheapest guy these guys don't do that.

But he was a nice guy. Honest, hard working. He gave me the quote before he started. For reference he replaced 1 rusted galvanized steel pipe with a brass fitting, copper pipe, new quarter turn value. Then hooked it up to the toilet. So over all. He did a good job, was good to work with, just a bit pricey. In the future I'll probably get a few quotes.

We recently had excellent service from his company. I had always used Schwantes in the past, but have been repeatedly and increasingly disappointed with poor service. Recently , our furnace was failing to fire and distribute heat. The woman I spoke with to schedule the call with was professional, friendly and thorough. John G. arrived at our house when scheduled, explained the facts with our less than awesome furnace and offered multiple suggestions for continued use. We will continue to use McQuillan Bros for furnace service from this point on. Thank you John G!

Installing a boiler is a multi-step process that includes several visits from the HVAC team, city inspectors and the like. John G. was there for the beginning steps of installation, and by luck of the draw was there to finish the project. His delight at being there for the start and finish was genuine. It was fun to see someone who really enjoys his work. Many family members have also used and like McQuillan Brothers.

The receptionist was exceptionally good. Friendly, articulate, and well informed. The technician was also good. Put his booties on before he came in. Explained our system to me and looked deep into the corners of our boiler to see every detail. I opted to hold off on replacement of an expensive part that is not yet failing, and he did not pressure me at all. I signed up for the annual inspection plan.

John was super awesome! He was a pleasure to speak to, was right on time, and gave it to me straight. I had mentioned that I needed to leave the house by 10am and he said that it shouldn't be a problem. Sure enough, at 9:50 he had completed his project, showed me how it all worked, AND cleaned up. Awesome service, great price, I highly recommend!

John G. came to my home when the plumbing in my basement sprung a leak. As he repaired the leak, I told him of a future home project where I will be redoing most of the plumbing in my home, as well as adding an additional radiator to the system for a new bathroom.

The tech from McQuillan Bros. came out to clear roots a a blockage from our sewer. He was prompt, friendly and helpful. He was very informative as to our problem, if we needed further fixes and helped us to know exactly what we we are dealing with.

John came over for our plumbing problem. He was very friendly and helpful. He explained what needed to be done and asked for permission to continue. The problem was minor and did not take long to repair.

Matt came a did an estimate for a new furnace and air conditioner. While ultimately we decided on a different company, Matt did a very thorough assessment and educated me on the process. He also took a look at my very slow running kitchen faucet and gave me some ideas of what a handy homeowner could accomplish herself.

Matt was on time, personable and professional when he came to give us an estimate on our service needs. I was impressed that they can get someone here so quickly to do the service as well. Very happy I called McQuillan Bros.

We were very pleased with the work done for us by McQuillan Brothers. Matt, was very pleasant and prompt, gave us a very competitive bid. Kris K. and Brian A., removed our old boiler and water heater, and installed the new equipment.

Since the beginning, we've been fans. They go out of their way to explain issues and to accommodate the (in our case, jerry-rigged) specific installation. A matter of practicality-and neighborhood, local service.

Matt was very personable, obviously experienced, knowledgeable and helpful while he was at our house televising our sewer. Beyond that, and what actually matters here - following up - they are extremely poor.

Had one of the service people come out to inspect a boiler. It was not working at the time. Was quoted several parts and $ for replacement totaling $3500.00 in parts and labor. First part, Temp relief valve $499.00 to replace. Can buy one at the hardware store for $17.00. Next part: Flame sensor replacement for $499.00. Can buy one on-line for $49.00 Next part:Ignitor replacement for $356.00, can buy the kit on-line for $86.95.

Replace the heat exchanger for $1999.00. Can buy the part on-line for $800.00 (this one is almost plausible, however all parts bolt on very easily. I asked about replacement, he gave an off the cuff quote of between $20,000 and $30,000. You can buy the same exact unit I own for $3700, three water lines and a gas line to hook up. Simple Cleaning, $899.00 ( you use mineral oil and burn off the residue with a click of a button on the machine itself, for just this purpose) Diagnostic $200.00. This machine gives error codes that you can look up in the manual. I had the codes and what was wrong before they came out. Absolute SCAM.
