We worked with James River on a recent kitchen renovation which started as the pandemic started ramping up last year. Despite many groups shutting down their activity, James River remained on schedule from start to finish. The project manager overseeing our project was present every day and responsive no matter how big or small the request was. From the top of the team to the subcontractors, we felt everyone that worked on the house was respectful, talented, and focused on helping us achieve a great outcome. We would use James River again in the future and remain appreciative of their time and effort.

We completed a two-story home addition and large kitchen renovation project with Adam, Ken and the JRC team in 2019 and could not be happier with the results. They understood our goals, stayed within our budget, and completed the 6-month job on time. The project was beautifully executed and is exactly what we envisioned. I contacted James River Construction during a a true nightmare of a renovation. President Ken Felts came out to our home and put our minds at ease by walking us through the process and outlining what James River could do to help. Ultimately, we had to put the project on hold but I felt safe and secure moving forward with James River after vetting a number of other contractors.
He even rolled up his sleeves in 90 degree weather to assist us in moving refrigerator to a second story apartment. I won't forget his act of kindness and I look forward to working with James River in the future.

The team at JRC is truly the "triple threat" of contractors in Richmond: high quality, great value, and professional through and through. They completely remodeled our master bath and kitchen to stunning results. Everyone was patient and thorough as we worked through the design process and anything that needed to be addressed along the way. As Ken, the founder, says, "Getting the last 1% right is the most important part, " and that puts JRC in a different class than others I have worked with in the past.

Andrew did our master bath several years ago, so when it came time to update our 22 year plan of kitchen, he's the only one we called. His work is meticulous from beginning to end. He helps you design the space, uses quality materials, stays in budget and left the work site spotless at the end of each day. We love our new kitchen!

Full Kitchen Replacement - Demolished and removed the kitchen down to bare wall studs and built new kitchen according to our specs. Coordinated all the proper experts for electrical, plumbing, drywall, and all the rest. Accepted last minute changes with no argument or delay in the job. It came off exactly as expected.
