I order keys online and they didn't work the guys at grotts fix me up thanks to a great staff

Tremendous experience, brought a safe sentry brand circa 2008. Battery pack had gone out on the keypad and we didn't know the combination and lost the key. They were able to work quickly to get this open and give us options. I thought the rate they charged was rather fair when compared to others. I would recommend.

Best place in town to get a key made. They make them ALL. No question here if they can make your key or not. They got you covered.

Get in, talk to the guy, got a key duplicated, $3 dollar charge but a $5 minimum on a card. Go home, use the key and it works, 30 minutes round trip. Faster than the hardware store, better service than a machine, a business I can trust and call if anything more serious happens.

After failing to get a simple car key cut at multiple hardware stores I made the trip. In and out in 10 minutes and they waited for me to check that the key worked. They know their stuff, and I will definitely be coming back if I need more lock/key work done. Service: Copy vehicle key

I had locked myself out of my apartment twice the week that I had to call Grott. The first time, I had my landlord bring me an extra set of keys and of course I locked his set of keys in the apartment and a locksmith was needed. The technician that came out was Andrew and I thought he was super chill. I thought he was kind of young for a locksmith, but he remained confident and creative while trying to get me into my apartment that has some really old locks on the doors.

Once he got me inside of my apartment, he was able to make me additional keys as well. This saved me a trip of going to a hardware store to have them made. The only reason I gave them 4 out of 5 stars is because they don't offer frequent flyer rewards and that's something I could definitely use.

Called and asked for a duplicate key to be made and explained all the details and answered all his questions. He told me they could help me and they gave me the amount they would charge me. I gave him year, make, and model. I asked if I should call 1-2 days before to schedule an appointment. I was told yes, if I didn't mind to call to make sure. they weren't doing a job that took a while.

He said it would only take 10 minutes to do what I needed. So I called a few days later to schedule an appointment. I was told by the lady that no appointment was needed it was " first come first served". I advised her that the man I talked to previously asked that I call ahead of time. She said no appointment needed. Being that we are nearly 3 hours away we wanted to make sure it was ok before we drove the truck to them.

The man ask that I bring the truck in and not just the key that needed duplicated. So my husband took the truck in and he was told they could not do it. I was furious because we would have never driven our truck 3 hours for NOTHING. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE.

Staff is friendly and helpful. They are quick and knowledgeable. Also a laid back atmosphere. They have an amazing variety of house keys. They have keys with oversized tops that would be great for small hands, or people with arthritis. Also a nice selection of safes. I came to get a key cut for my Carmy (they can also program car keys!) and got to see so much more they offer. Will definitely be back for several items!

Excellent, immediate same day service. I would definitely call Grott for any lock or key needs and be sure to ask for technician David. He was polite, efficient, and knowledgeable plus he cleaned up everything. Good job!

Absolutely the rudest people I've ever come into contact with. How are they still in business? I suppose their target market is composed of people with no standards for customer service. My visit was in a business capacity, so you can be sure that I will never seek them out in a personal one. Their key-cutting work was quick, I'll grant you that, but it's not worth the bad treatment.

I dealt with two people in my 15 minute ordeal, and the second one (responsible for scheduling service calls) SNUCK UP BEHIND ME while I was explaining to the first (who cut the keys) what was needed in the service call. Did the first one stop me? No. He let me get halfway through my schpeel, then peered at me over his glasses and pointed behind me, interrupted me, and said "Tell her." I turned around to find a scowling woman peering over HER glasses, looking exasperated.

Our conversation was, to put it mildly, frustrating. If you're looking for an alternate local locksmith, I suggest Burdine on Leestown; I've had nothing but PLEASANT experiences with them over the years! If it's only keys you need and Burdine is too far away, go to Wal-Mart. You'll get better customer service there.

When I went in they were very rude and grumpy. They weren't able to make the key I wanted but they could've at least been nice about it. I called another locksmith who came to my house and did it within 30 minutes and he was actually nice.

Location: Off of Pasadena Drive Parking: Small lot in front I went here after having gone to 5 other places to replace a home key. I live in a loft, so the keys aren't "standard". After running all over town (on a Sunday) to try to have copies made, I was directed to Grott Locksmith by three separate people. I finally got fed up and waited it out until the next day.

So glad I did. I was amazingly frustrated after visiting so many places without success. I walked in, held the key up, and 3 minutes and $3 later.5 new keys. I can't say that I often will need their services, but if so, would go here first.

I called the other day to see about getting the locked changed on our rental property and was sent to dispatch. The older gentleman said it would be several days and when I expressed surprise he promptly hung up on me.

Made me a key for me that "couldn't be made". Nice guys, too. Reasonable price.

I am always for the small business. I love these guys. They have good prices for a fine service. Haven't taken a key in yet they can't duplicate.

Shop local, shop small. In a modern world, it's difficult to find trade shops that will try to repair the broken items before pushing you to buy the new. Sometimes cheaper and newer is a bigger sales pitch but the quality is sacrificed.

I called Grott the Locksmith to inquire about the price and time needed to make and program a spare key for my Honda Accord. I was told the cost for a remote key was $80 and that included programming and that the process would only take 15-20 minutes. I asked the person on the phone to clarify two more times since I had been quoted a price almost double from the dealer.

He assured me that the price was correct. Since I lived almost an hour away, I made a special trip to this merchant based on this phone call. I stopped at the Winchester Road location later that afternoon. I told the guy behind the counter that I had called earlier and wanted a key made for my accord and handed him the key. He went to a catalog and told me that they could do a NON-remote key for $125.

I told him of my conversation earlier in the day on the phone and just shrugged his shoulders and said that they could not do that. I told him that I was very specific in my questions and he just looked at me and gave me a sarcastic shrug again. He was rude and did not even want to try to help. I told him that they were providing horrible customer service and he just said, "what are you going to do." I grabbed my keys and walked out.

These guys have it all - Poor quality work AND rude people! I paid them $40 to rekey my lock. I'm now here for the 3nd time in hopes they can make the lock actually work. Bonus: the counter guy was really surly and unhelpful!
