GBC Kitchen & Bath

GBC Kitchen and Bath of Alexandria, Va. did a fantastic job renovating our kitchen. We found out about them through a leaflet in the mail. We're glad we called them. GBC managed the project from concept to design, installation, and completion (if you're thinking about doing it yourself, I strongly recommend going with a professional for this type of project instead).

The kitchen was designed by Emre Kuzudisli and the work was conducted under project manager Amoldo. All the workers at the site were professional, respectful and efficient. The kitchen was sealed off to prevent dust during renovation and the trash was removed each day. The work was completed much sooner than we had anticipated, meaning less disruption for us. Well done GBC! We highly recommend their services.

After an extensive search, we landed with GBC Kitchen & Bath to remodel our 1964 original kitchen. They worked with us to come up with the best design to use our space, and even let us get into the small details, including tile layout. It was all inclusive - meaning they did everything, demo, cabinets, painting, flooring, plumbing, electrical. Everything was inhouse for GBC which saved us money. GBC started exactly on time, and actually finished earlier than our 4 week timeline. GBC was upfront, honest, and very responsive. They even installed the pot filler and Kitchen Aid mixer "garage" for us!

I had my kitchen remodeled by this company. ( cabinets, countertop, and flooring ). They installed a dedicated circuit for the microwave, and a waterline for the ice-maker. They painted the walls and ceiling, with 2 coats. The work was completed in 5 business days, which surprised me. I has 4 estimates from companies, and they were the best. I am very pleased with all the work I received, from the beginning to the end. I will have my bathrooms remodeled next year, and I will use them for that.

I had a great experience working with GBC Kitchen & Bath in Alexandria. They quoted a reasonable price and created the perfect design for my kitchen. They did everything they could to meet my aggressive schedule, including working late on multiple occasions with a full crew. Everyone, including the crew members, project manager, and office staff were courteous and willing to go the extra mile to ensure my satisfaction. Have been wanting to renovate my kitchen for a while. What was stopping me was finding the right contractor. Did my research, got a couple of names from Houzz then read reviews. Decided on GBC Kitchen and Bath. Renovation costs were more or less in the same price range but I thought GBC gave me the best value for my money. GBC made the whole process easy.

Every concern I had was addressed and taken care of in a timely manner. The team that took care of my project was Ted (designer), Ray (project manager), Arnoldo (another project manager), Alex and Jacob. Alex and Jacob were always respectful of my property and did a wonderful job. My kitchen was also completed ahead of schedule. I am very pleased with the results and I am happy that I decided to go ahead and do the renovation. I highly recommend GBC Kitchen and bath.

It was a wonderful experience working with GBC Kitchen! We had our entire kitchen remodeled and are extremely pleased with the outcome. They delivered before time - which was a pleasant surprise! I learned about GBC from a friend who raves about the company's renovation of her kitchen a few years ago. After getting a few quotes for due diligence, I selected GBC for a full renovation of two bathrooms and my experience was exceptional! From design with Fabian to project oversight with Sujan/Ray and the fantastic crew that did the work, GBC exceeded my expectations.

They were consummate professionals, communicative, incredibly responsive, and worked with me at every stage to ensure my vision became a reality. When we hit a few supply chain hiccups, they worked quickly to help resolve the issue. When I was indecisive on specific design elements, they patiently walked me through options to help me visualize the space.

I made multiple visits to the showroom, and each time, they gave me the space I needed to look around and think through each piece. There was no pressure; they worked with me and at my pace. Fabian was beyond patient with my many questions. We started design in April and construction in July, with the project 95% complete on schedule and on budget by mid-August. Omar and his crew took great care to keep the work site clean, to keep me apprised daily of progress, and to alert me when they needed me to be onsite for real-time decisions so I could plan around my work schedule.

I've never done a renovation before and when I first contemplated doing this, I expected it to be nerve racking and frustrating. It was the opposite and whenever we plan to renovate our kitchen, we will not hesitate to use GBC. Call GBC, you won't regret it!

GBC was great to work with. We did a full kitchen remodel, removing 2 walls, combining the kitchen, dining room and hallway. Both walls were load bearing and after demo we were worried we would have to have another column in the kitchen but that was averted with an additional post on an existing column (Yay!).The designer was awesome (but no longer with them), Ray (project mngr) was responsive, but the real stars were Alex and Jacob!

They did an amazing job, always on time and willing to answer any questions I had. They brought any issues to my attention right away and we talked through how to best fix them. The estimate was spot on and additional work was priced before ordering so there were no surprises. We really enjoyed working with GBC and would recommend them to any of our friends or family. The work was estimated for 6 weeks and they finished in 5! I cannot put into words how much I love my new kitchen!

I can't say enough great things about GBC. The experience of remodeling a huge master bath was easier than I expected. The remodel occurred on the timeline that I was told with no problems at all. You get assigned the same crew that is there from start to finish and everyone is very professional. Remodeling is a stressful time, but trusting GBC to do the job makes things a lot easier. I would definitely hire GBC again for future bathroom or kitchen renovations.

I LOVE our new bathrooms! GBC did a fantastic job, from start to finish. Louisa sat with me to help me pore over toilet reviews and helped choose finishes. Tony regularly checked in with me to see that I was happy with how the work progressed. Rodolpho communicated with me throughout each day and continually asked my opinion about decisions that needed to be made.

The absolute rockstar of the group, though, is David. My tile looks amazing! The knowledge and attention to detail in GBC's tile-setter was so obvious, I had to ask how long he had been laying tile: 25 years.

GBC remodeled my kitchen and bathroom. Both spaces are now stunning. Pedro developed beautiful designs and Tony worked on site to implement those designs. Workers kept my place clean and timelines & budget were adhered to. I couldn't be happier!

GBC did a good job at a fair price. The company was very thorough in fixing every problem. Which is good because the shower door and wall, installed by a subcontractor, needed several adjustments over several weeks, to stop leaking. Pedro, the designer as the Rockville showroom, was a trusted guide as we selected all our components. The only pieces we kept from the "old" bathroom were the toilet and mirrored cabinet.

I recently had my bathroom remodeled by GBC Kitchen and Bath in Rockville, MD. I am so please with the results! The designer was a great help to me and patiently guided me in my choices. The project cost came in as estimated. I did feel I needed to keep an eye on the construction because the project manager was not always there and I feared that some of the details might get overlooked. Overall the project was a great success. I would recommend this company for a remodel.

We worked with Pedro for our remodel of 3 bathrooms. Overall he was very knowledgeable, professional, patient, and has good design ideas. We were overall happy with the design he helped us pick out. The workers were very professional, polite, and kept a clean work space. The problem we had was the quality of the work and lack of oversight from the supervisor.

We went with tiles on the shower floor. Unfortunately they layed the tiles with too much pitch, and the slope is uncomfortably pronounced. They acknowledged the error and attempted to fix it twice but it is still not how it should be. The grout work and caulking along the corners is sloppy. The picture below is after their attempts to correct their work. Lastly, the placement of the sink in the master bath was off.

This was a point of contention. We felt that it was the responsibility of the bathroom designer to take the spacing into consideration. They felt that it was our responsibility to anticipate this ahead of time. If you want to brush your teeth or your hair you have to step off to the side otherwise your arm will hit the wall. No spacer was placed between the cabinet and the wall.

These folks did a great job for us, and at a very competitive price. We got good guidance on making choices for materials as well. At first, we hired them to do a full renovation of our kitchen. We were so pleased with the results, as well as the work ethic and staying on schedule, that we then asked them back to renovate our Jack & Jill master bath and our powder room/ laundry area as well. Luisa did a solid job of coordinating everything, and had very good back up when she was on vacation over the holidays.

Special thanks also to Florina for helping us pick out the most gorgeous backsplash ever and providing other valued guidance. The guys who did the work on site were also really good. Nice work, long hours and worked some Saturdays to keep the projects moving. When once in a while a correction was needed, they took care of it promptly and with a positive attitude. Also very conscientious about leaving work areas as clean as possible at the end of each day. Impressive people, a pleasure to work with.

Bottom line: If you value your time, avoid this business! I was looking forward to potentially working with this company after reading so many glowing reviews on Houzz. Unfortunately my dealings with this business were a disaster from day 1. My family and I came to the Rockville "showroom" on 1/26/19. The store was supposed to open at 10 and the lady showed up at 10:15 to open the store.

I went in with my kids to find that this was most definitely not a showroom, but more like an office space crammed with tile and a couple of small kitchen examples. Another couple arrived at the same time and the store employee immediately sat down with them to go over their bath design. After standing there awkwardly for a few minutes while my children squabbled nearby, I finally approached her and asked if I needed an appointment.

She asked what we needed and I told her we have a kitchen and 4.5 baths to redo. She said we needed a home visit before doing anything else, which would have been nice to know before schlepping out to Rockville on a Saturday morning. (It doesn't say this anywhere on the website and I thought we'd be able to at least see a lot of design options in the "showroom".) After making an appointment, then rescheduling due to weather, I waited for someone at my house for our 9 am appointment on 2/1. Minutes ticked by with no call and no salesperson.

Finally as I was pulling out of the driveway at 9:33 I saw someone walking up to the house. I left anyway (I left her a note). There's no point in dealing with this business if they are this unprofessional.

Very poor customer service. First contacted them around September 28, 2018 to request a quote for the install of a steam shower. I told them I accepted the quote and ask them to move forward. About two weeks later they responded and said that I would need to sign a contract. I said OK and told them that they needed to contact my GC. Never got the contract, don't think they ever contacted the GC. Did not hear anything from them until I contacted them on November 2.

They responded that they had misquoted me the original price and now it was going to be almost DOUBLE what they originally quoted me. Went from $4,500 to $7,700! What a bunch of crooks! Be aware don't believe anything they tell you! And don't expect them to call, email, or contact you to keep you informed about your project.

Pedro at GBC did an AMAZING job. His team worked quickly and kept everything very clean throughout the process. There were no delays in demolition or construction, they finished ahead of schedule, and they took care of every last detail, even things I never would have thought of, such as installing a doorstop. We plan to ask him to work on some their projects on our house too. Very highly recommend.

We just had our master and guest bathrooms remodeled by GBC! The bomb! They are both gorgeous! Luisa and Pedro are the best to work with! The crew is reliable, trustworthy and so very neat. GBC is affordable and really works with you to ensure you are happy! We are waiting a few years but will only use GBC to remodel our kitchen! Thank you so much for making our bathrooms look amazing!

After getting 4-5 estimates, we hired GBC for the renovation of our kitchen in a 50 year-old co-op building in DC. We could not be more pleased with the results of their work, especially after hearing all the reno disaster stories our neighbors told us during our search for a contractor. After several email exchanges (they responded to all promptly!), we met our project managers at the Rockville showroom to design a new kitchen within our budget.

They were extremely helpful and patient as we worked through our options. There was no pressure, no "upselling" so we were very comfortable with our choices. The quoted price was very competitive with the other estimates we had gotten. This was a total renovation job - floor, cabinets, counter-top, back splash, lighting, electrical, and removal of an entire wall.

The work crew came everyday 6 days/week and finished the job in less than 2 weeks! We weren't entirely satisfied with one issue so they sent the guy back to make it right and honestly our kitchen is perfect now. We will definitely recommend GBC to our friends and neighbors.

After getting bids from several kitchen and bath companies, I chose GBC because their pricing was competitive and reasonable. They executed my design preference and was professional and timely. They did not try to get me to put expensive and unnecessary products or design features installed. When I pointed out issues, they addressed them with no drama. I highly recommend.

Dear Nili, Although I was not at home when the carpet technicians came, my husband and my daughter were here. They told me that three people came about 9:30 - right on time. They did a great job taking the wrinkles out. This is why I love dealing with GBC. I would always recommend you to my friends. Thank you

We arrived at their Rockville showroom at 10:30 am on a Saturday. They were closed even though their website and the sign on their door say they open at 10:00 am on Saturdays. I called their corporate number and the guy said that their designer had "an emergency appointment" and would be there in 20 minutes. I asked why there was no one there at a time when they were supposed to be open and he simply said that sometimes they have "emergency appointments" and aren't there.

He never apologized. We're busy professionals and rearranged our Saturday to go to their showroom in the morning when they were supposed to be open. It was a waste of our time, not to mention extremely unprofessional. Like most people, we expect our contractors to be on time, reliable, and professional. We will not spend +$30,000 to remodel our kitchen with a contractor that cannot even open on time.

We had had our kitchen partially remodeled before we discovered your company, and were very unhappy with the work. We will likely update it one of these years, and will surely remember our great experience with your company. That's not on our plan for this year or next, but we will keep you in mind when we are ready. We do tell our friends about our good experience with you. Thanks

Everything is really good! I had every intention of stopping in on Saturday but the party Friday night was way too good. It was quite enjoyable entertaining in the new kitchen! I will drop the check in the mail tomorrow. I already know that for my next project GBC will be my call to make.

I had a very good experience with GBC and would highly recommend them. They did our kitchen and two baths and finished within the time frame they gave and within our budget. I worked with Kamal and Nili and both are great when it comes to customer service. They were very reliable and I was very satisfied with the product.
