Coles Fine Flooring

A fantastic experience! The sales person in the San Diego Store (Linda) in was very helpful, knowledgeable and worked with us ensuring everything from the carpet to padding to installation was what we wanted. The carpeting arrived on time and the team that installed the new carpet in both bedrooms and on the stairs (see picture) were professional. They installed the carpet to our satisfaction and did a nice job cleaning up after. We would highly recommend Coles for any carpet need.

I had my house floors done 3 years ago with perfect workmanship. I just had my condo done with new floors with help from Jack. He was very efficient and through and coordinated the flooring and also a new kitchen backsplash. We are very happy with Coles and their workers. I would recommend Coles very highly.

I have always thought coles was a great company because they have wonderful marketing. The commercials are well done and I felt confident putting hardwood flooring in the entirety of my home with the familiarity of their branding. The man who installed my flooring was professional and a very hard worker, he did an amazing job in his capacity of the parts they provided him and deserves an award for talent, but for MONTHS I have been missing all of the doorjambs revealing crawlspace under the house and emailing back and forth with the sales floor about when the job would be completed.

Its really embarrassing to have to explain to all of your guest and anyone who enters your home for months why you can see your crawlspace in all of your door jams. Everyone is very courteous at CFF but for months I have been living with crawlspace in my home. AND! I would never have left this review but they have a new commercial on now saying they are not affected by the supply chain and it plays so often on tv and youtube and everytime I see it I'm just angered by the fact that they can brag about their supply chain level up when they haven't completed my flooring after months.

I wouldn't have left this review but the commercial just gets me. I understand the supply chain delay but the commercial that denys they are affected by it while thats their primary excuse to me is too much.

I had Cole's replace carpeted floor in a bedroom with engineered vinyl to include new baseboards. The in store personnel, schedulers, and installation team were all very helpful and provided excellent customer service.

I was referred to Cole's carpet as being a highly reputable firm. Yes I purchased a discounted discontinued carpet and had them install it in living room dining room and two bedrooms. After less than a year the carpets began to buckle. I called Kohl's carpeting in San Marcos and explained the problem to them. And they never responded I called again and still no response.

So I contracted a flooring contractor to come and straighten the carpets. Flooring contractor said that Cole's carpet installers just simply cut carpet & laid carpet down simply tacked it down but they did not stretch the carpet as it needed to be and that's why it buckled. I had to spend $500 getting the carpets stretched because Cole refused to back up their carpeting so in all honesty I cannot recommend them

Overall, we were happy with Coles. However, the sales person said the installers would screw down a few squeaking boards. The installers said no, they don't do that. Also we were charged more than expected for furniture moving. We had moved most everything but the heavy stuff, hoping to keep this cost down. After the job the sales person told us they charge for any piece of furniture they touch. The installers were very professional and cleaned up before they left each day. It took one day longer than we were initially told.

The best in San Diego. Coles has access to flooring that can't be had anywhere else. Three cheers for the lovely sales manager Lauren and the helpful designer Noelle Johnson.

I really don't like complaining, but when nothing is done to resolve the issues, I feel it is necessary to warn others! Let me start off by saying that I have been a designer for over 40 years and during this time I have recommended Coles numerous times. NEVER again. When I spoke to my salesperson prior to purchasing I had some specific questions that I asked. Q: "Does all the furniture have to be removed?" A: "No." Q: "I work remote out of my home, will I be able to do so while they are putting in my flooring?" A: "Yes.

They will move your furniture from side to side or room to room as they put down the flooring. If you can relocate to another room when they are working in your home office, you'll be fine." Q: "For the furniture, does it have to be unloaded?" A: "You will want to pack up fragile items and anything on open shelves. But if the furniture has doors or drawers, those will not have to be unloaded.

The (2) movers will remove the drawers and will secure the doors." And with that, I happily put down my deposit and waited until I could take the time off to get the 3-4 day job done. Next step, the measuring guy came. I had taken the baseboard off the kitchen cabinets, since the kitchen was renovated prior to me purchasing my home and the cabinets had been installed over the flooring. NOT what should have been done.

So I wanted to bring that to his attention. He said, "No problem. The installers will cut the flooring around your cabinets and put moulding around the base to cover that up." Then the installers showed up. 1st thing he said, "What is all this furniture still doing here?" I said, "I live & work here and I need a bed, sofa, and my office stuff. I was told you guys would move it from side to side.

His reply, "You can't stay here while I'm installing the flooring. All this stuff has to go. Or we can move it into (1) room." That's when I went into panic mode. Wasn't planning on not being able to work from home and had no boxes left to empty my office cabinet contents into. I was also told to remove all the pictures off the walls. Really? I'm not doing the walls.

Then the movers proceeded to stuff all my office things into the master bedroom, while I was signing paperwork in the kitchen. Then he noticed the flooring going underneath the kitchen cabinets. He said, "I can't remove the flooring under your cabinets, unless you remove the cabinets." "WHAT?" He continued, "I didn't bring tools to do that." I said, "You're a flooring installer and you didn't bring tools to cut flooring?" "Well that's gonna cost extra." I said "Absolutely not!

It was brought to the attention of the measurer & I'm not paying extra. And I have tools you can borrow to do the job you were hired to do." Surprisingly, after calling Coles, he found some tools in his tool box to cut the flooring. Discovered the living room floor was too wet to install the flooring. His suggestion. "Open up your windows and put on the ceiling fans." "Seriously?" I asked. "It's raining.

How is opening the windows going to dry out the floors?" So, a contractor I had to pay extra for to remove my washer and dryer (Coles doesn't move some appliances so you may have to hire someone else to do that) overheard the conversation & dropped off (2) commercial grade fans to help dry out the floors. Thank God for him. Then I realized the installers had stuffed the bedroom full of my office stuff.

I had to get my computer, my files, some cloths, my medication, none was accessible. The room was stacked to the ceiling. Then the real fun began They didn't cover anything up, they ground down the floor in several areas & concrete dust was everywhere. Plus, there was not a mask in sight. This was in the beginning of the pandemic and masks were mandatory.

I wore mine all the time. Found out the customer service woman I was dealing with came down with Covid so I self-quarantined for 2-weeks and had to cancel meetings I had set up. Once the living room was completed they proceeded down the hall and did the office. The hall was halfway done and they put sealer on the flooring in the bedroom and then tracked the sealer onto the newly laid flooring.

Since the sealer couldn't be removed, they had to pull up all the flooring in the hall and half of what was in the living room and dispose of it. Later when the furniture was to be put into their final destination, the (1) installer (note: I paid for 2 men), that's when we all noticed the damaged furniture. He had no moving equipment so I had to borrow my sister's moving cart & dolley.

I photographed & documented all the broken and damaged furniture. He apologized and told me he'd have someone from Coles call me & come by to look at the damage and have it fixed. Coles never called. No one ever came back to my house so I sent them pics. I called Lauren Coles several times and left messages. To this day, she has never called. The worst company I have ever dealt with. Run don't walk away from Coles.

Jeff was super helpful & even stayed a few minutes after closing to make sure I was able to get a few carpet samples. They had a ton of selection and staff was super friendly

I went to several flooring companies before selecting Coles AND I was disappointed with the up front service, Michelle Bellinger, sales person and the installation crew. They stayed on schedule and even rearranged the schedule to accommodate my personal needs as a wheelchair user. Thank you very much. A+ service!

Loved our experience with Cole's. We worked with Michelle who helped us pick our perfect hard flooring and carpet that met our needs. We needed to install in a narrow window between when we got the keys to our new place and before we moved in. Michelle assigned us to a great installer who did a spectacular job. Installer was always on time, kept the house clean, and communicated when they were leaving each day.

We have been very happy with our new flooring. Cole's is not the cheapest option, but we wanted a full service experience with someone to handle things beginning to end. The financing option is also nice.

Excellent service from sales representative, Noel. She was always helpful, patient, available to help and show us many options. She is very knowledgeable on all products. Installation was excellent - installers were very friendly and professional and did a great job. We are delighted with our Coles Carpet experience! I had several friends recommend Coles and I am so happy I took their advice!

My previous review seemed to have disappeared, so I will write it again. Initially I gave a 5 star review for what seemed like good service to accommodate our flooring project in the time frame we needed (even though the scheduling was confused with another customer and I had to point it out.) Our story begins. We bought a condo and wanted to replace the flooring prior to moving in.

Once the floor installers arrived on our schedule they were very friendly and hard working. I pointed out the cracks in the concrete sub floor and they seemed to want to proceed without offering a solution to the poor foundation; this had me very worried as a new homeowner. (My boyfriend was told by one of the workers they were very busy on a hotel project at the same time, which is probably what caused my issues to be brushed over.) They did finish the project on time and all looked swell to the untrained eye. ***THEN I discovered upon walking on our new $$$ floors for a few days it was obvious there was a SLOPE and I could roll a ball DOWN my floor.

I called to ask why I could feel movement where the initial cracks were. I was told "only I would notice it." OF COURSE, and my guests, and when I sell my home in the future, etc. I requested for them to come back and fix our floors, which they did. HOWEVER, this time we were already moved in to our new home with furniture and me working from home.

The work they did: moving our furniture outside, ripping up old flooring to fix what I already pointed out, grinding down the floor and fixing cracks (dust flying everywhere and VERY loud while I wfh!) for days on end. It was MISERABLE. I was so stressed out by this process which could have been fixed before moving in like we had planned. Best part of the whole experience? I got a free BONA mop out of it.

This is a great family own business. Jack Coles was the person who helped me and he was terrific at showing me the different carpet samples and gave me a good deal on installation. He helped me choose the carpeting for upstairs to match the staircase. The carpet on the staircase was replaced with vinyl flooring so I still need to do some touch-up paint where the carpeting had been.

The service was terrific. And the price was right. I definitely recommend them. One of the nice things about their family-owned business is that they really enjoy pets and animals. They made me really feel at home. Nicki Coles was also wonderful with closing out the final paperwork.

I had another outstanding experience with Fariba at Coles Fine Flooring. She helped me find carpet I could use as a dining room rug. Throughout the process she was focused on helping me find what I wanted, loaning me several carpet samples to take home that helped with my final decision as I picked a darker color than I originally thought I wanted. Just had my new carpet installed yesterday. Great installation team, tidy, professional, considerate. My salesperson was wonderful, Linda Kemper. She was patient, and accommodating to all my visits and changes. I wanted to make the right decision, and Linda was very understanding. I highly recommend working with her. Kind and knowledgeable staff. They have a large selection of good quality flooring for many decorating tastes. They were just a bit out of our price range, but would consider them for future projects.

My designer was great to work with and she set up installation with 3 guys that knew what they were doing. They worked hard and made sure all was done as perfectly as possible. I'm very happy with my new carpet!

Came in here this morning and did not receive a friendly greeting upon arrival. The girl at the front was not welcoming and said someone would help me IF they became available. I went into the showroom and looked at all of their vinyl floors. Even pulled many of them out by myself and was nice enough to put them back. No one ever came to help me. I decided it wasn't worth waiting around and as I walked out the same girl didn't bother to follow up with me. That's sad because my goal was to order floors for my entire house. I went to two other stores nearby and received amazing customer service. I ordered my floors today for my entire house. Coles was my first stop. Had higher expectations.

Very friendly and knowledgable salesperson! I didn't feel pressured to make a purchase and he answered all of my (many) questions. Great selection!

Coles was willing to sell me old dried up carpet that had been in their warehouse for more than 7 years. The sample was nice, but when the carpet arrived the installer cut a small piece for me to check to be sure it was correct and it crumbled in my hand. Coles offered a different roll which had a tag indicating they had received it 7 years prior.

Then I chose a new carpet and learned from calling around that they were charging $2.00 per sq ft more than anyone else. I would not do business with them. They were not even in the same ballpark professionally as the company I chose, a small family owned business near my home.

This is our second experience using Coles for our condo. They first did a fantastic job installing a new carpet in our entire condo (2 years ago that still looks great). The install team was top notch and did a great job dismantling the steps of a metal staircase to then bring them back and reinstall them all carpeted. Most recently we had a custom sized rug made for our outdoor deck.

The outdoor carpets selection was great and the rug was ready to pick up within ten days (we were told it could be up to 4 weeks). We love the quality of the rug and the tropical look it gives our little balcony.

We went to Coles because they've been in business for a long time here in San Diego. But, as it turns out, the sales staff is just not as knowledgeable as they should be. We were sold an unsuitable product for our needs. The problem was compounded by an installer who wasn't familiar with the product. It's a long story. Moral of the story: Do your homework because the sales staff, for the most part, has never laid a yard of carpet or a foot of tile, vinyl, or wood.

We had to call manufacturers ourselves to explore full product lines, acquire installation instructions etc. What should have been a simple, day-long job, ended up taking months.

Made time for them during our new home inspection to come over and measure everything for a substantial job. Had to ask and follow up with them multiple times over several weeks until they finally gave us a one liner quote via email with a number rather than itemized (floor, labor, demo, etc). If they can't even get us a quote done timely and with necessary info without chasing them around, didn't trust to hire them for a $50k+ job

Last year we had all of our first floor hardwood replaced with new hardwood from Coles we were relying on what was a long time in our community with a great reputation. But I guess things have changed with the management of this generation of Coles! The finish on the new floor started cracking within a few months. 20-30% of the boards have cracked finished. Coles tried to blame it on our cleaning leaving too much moisture.

But areas under large rugs - which are not cleaned - have cracked. I assume it is a bad product We have tried and tied to get Coles to stand by their satisfaction warranty, to no success. They have been unresponsive to calls and letters since I proved it was not our cleaning. Sad and disappointing

Equality floor and the prices are great but the interest rate on the contract is a little bit high

Heather was extremely helpful in picking out the luxury vinyl plank and getting us a great deal. The installers were absolutely amazing, hard working and super helpful in fixing things here and there. Highly recommend.

My experience at Cole's Santee showroom was wonderful. I was undecided about what kind of flooring I wanted. Taylor was amazing and explained my options, she had so much patience with me as I changed my mind many times. She communicated with me through the whole process, checking in to see how installation was going, and answered my many questions.

The installation team was amazing as well, very respectful of my home and made me part of the decision process like how to lay the grain, how I wanted the baseboards and other edges to look, making suggestions when I was undecided. Overall such a great experience. I love my floors and would highly recommended to anyone thinking about new flooring to visit the Santee showroom and ask for Taylor.

I just had my new bathroom floor installed today. LOVE IT! I went into Cole's Fine Flooring in Santee, CA and worked with Maryann. She was awesome and so helpful. She let me take samples home to match up with our shower enclosure and oak wood flooring outside the bathroom.

Mary Ann's customer service is wonderful. The installation, however, was not. They had to redo many of the stairs on my open staircase more than once. But I will say, they were willing to come out as many times as necessary to try and get the job done right. I just wish they had done a great installation the first time. I would recommend them for a simple, straight forward installation, but not for open stairs or creative layouts.

Be willing to clean up their staples, tacks, small scraps, dust, etc. For some reason each crew only vacuumed up part of their mess and left the rest. But they did haul off the big trash.

I had a great experience with Maryann Heckman. She greeted me with a smile and she was outgoing and friendly when I first walked in. She helped me with my selections of flooring for my bathroom and kitchen and she was always patient. I would recommend her to anyone who is interested in flooring for their home or condo. Their service is outstanding.

We had a great shopping experience at Coles Fine Flooring in Santee. We found the carpeting we wanted and asked our sales person, Maryann Canada, if we could put a rush on installation. She personally came to our home that day and took measurements so we could have our installation by the end of the week. Great service! Thanks, Dave and Margi Buller

Almost a year ago, my wife and I, hired Cole's Fine Flooring to install our floors. We were unsure what we were looking for but one of the salespersons (Maryann) walked us through the entire process and gave us sound guidance which greatly supported our decisions. Unfortunately, several months after the floor was installed, it began failing due a later discovered manufacture's defect.

We contacted Cole's HQ regarding the problem but we received little help or assurance that the problem would be handled. We decided to reach out to Maryann and she immediately started the process to get the floor replaced. It seemed like things couldn't get any worse and then we were informed that the flooring product was discontinued. Maryann was very patient with us and continued showing us new products daily which she thought we would be interested in. Finally, we decided on a new product which is currently being installed now.

We are extremely happy with the floor and if not for Maryann's assistance this would have been a very unpleasant process. I recommend going to the Santee location if you're thinking about shopping here.

We love our new carpet! Maryann was helpful and very knowledgeable. She listened to our needs and made suggestions without any pressure. The entire process was easy. I'd definitely recommend Coles to others.

I had a wonderful experience with Cole's at the 32nd St Navy Exchange. Hans D.was so helpful and she even made a home visit with Gabe, the lead installer, to determine exactly what we wanted prior to the install.

What a great way to let teachers know how much they are appreciated. Thank you for the FREE area rug for my classroom. The morning was very organized and you could feel the excitement in the air. Way to go Coles!

Noel worked with me at the Marine Corp Marimar Base and their store on Morena Blvd. She was very knowledgeable and helpful with the type and color of carpet that I wanted. After taking several samples home, bingo, the one I choose was perfect, and I love it.

We just had Coles install new Stainmaster carpeting throughout our home, and we couldn't be happier with the Coles people and installation process. Trevor Wiese, our San Marcos sales rep, helped us pick the right color and quality, the right pad, made sure we got the best price and even gave us boxes to pack small items.
