We couldn't be happier with our back yard from California Pools & Landscape! Everything turned out exactly as we had envisioned. Jordan was the superintendent for our project and he really is the shining star of the company. Even though our pool and landscaping has been completed for some time, if I have any issues or concerns at all he is still just a text away.

We are so fortunate he was a part of the build! As for any negative reviews about time to complete - I think it is important everyone realize that this is a very difficult time for construction in general - from material shortages to staffing insufficiencies throughout the entire country, everyone is experiencing delays and some things are just out of the company's control.

We are in commercial construction, and we have experienced it as well. The most important thing to us is making sure we communicate these things to our customers, and Jordan always kept us well informed of any delays, etc. which we really appreciated. We have the yard of our dreams and it came to life because of CPL!

I started looking for a pool company two years ago. California pools was the only company able to have a pool done by this summer. I am very glad I found them! From the beginning (design) to finish it's been a great experience! I signed in August and they finished in June. My designer Brian went over the details with cost and created a beautiful design for the pool and decking.

I have dogs so I let them know I need to be notified when someone is coming into the backyard so I can lock them inside. During the whole process ( except for one exception) they kept me updated on dates and the crew showed up that day or the next. Jordan the superintendent was very accessible if I had questions. He was super helpful with the city inspection!

He made sure everything was going smoothly and being done correctly. He kept me updated on dates for construction as well. Everyone was very friendly and even when nothing was happening I received messages about what we were waiting for. All in all a great experience and I love my pool!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR POOL. Where to start? The initial contact, then subsequent sales pitch and design went well. But come to find out much if the sales pitch was lies (imagine that). Cost of hard dig was double the maximum estimate presented at sales pitch. Was told specifically that all workers aside from excavation are Cal Pools employees.

That has turned out to be false. Next lie was during the materials selection. Told that once your decking is chosen, the supplier sets it aside for your project until it's needed. We were then repeatedly reassured that it all was on-hand ready to go until a few days before scheduled installation. We were then told that it was gone, with differing excuses depending upon which Cal Pools employee that we spoke with.

We were then told that we needed to select new decking ASAP and somebody would be at the office waiting to assist us in that task. Another lie. DIDN'T HAPPEN! Nobody was there to assist, and instead it was a "clearance bin" batch of available choices, that we could not check to see how well they match with all of the other previously chosen items. Selected from what we could and hope that it meshes. Failed inspections by city due to poor quality control and failure to have proper paperwork on site.

Three steps forward, two steps back. Poor installation of plumbing, steel, excavations, quick Crete, etc. has seen our project repeatedly stopped, crews coming back out to demolish, replace, repair, etc. what should have been done properly the first time, then moving forward several steps without somebody checking to see if it's ready for the next stage.

Our project manager was out sick for some time, and no one was assigned to step in and cover for him. Poor to non existent communications and scheduling. Phone calls about concerns or questions are not returned in a timely manner, or sometimes at all. Workers show up, who are not in the schedule, or workers who are scheduled to show up, do not do so and no explanation or flimsy excuses are given.

Today a whole work crew called off. One person in a crew I understand, but the whole crew? We signed our contract at the end of Feb.'21, and now in mid June '22 we still do not have a finished pool, yet Cal Pools have received every payment ahead of schedule. As of this time I can not in good conscience recommend this business to anyone. I'll post an ending, when the job is completed

We used California Pool and landscaping 4 years ago when we had a new home built. They did and amazing job and we were so happy with the final design, Aaron was spot on when he designed our yard. They put our pool in and did all of landscaping And we love it. Fast forward 4 years and we hired them to give our backyard an update. We are adding a grilling/bar area, a fire pit/sitting area and putting turf in to replace our grass.

Again we love the design Aaron did for us. We were told that once they start our project it would take about 2 weeks. They began work at the end of March and the project still isn't finished. The work on grill/bar is not up to the standards we expect. The storage area door is crooked, the inside area the cement work looks like a 5 year old did it. Nadine chapman has been very helpful she is trying to get our concerns resolved.

We just want our yard completed to the standards we expect considering the amount of money we have given to California Pools. We hate giving poor reviews but when when you see shabby work, what choice do we have. We understand that stuff happens, but we feel this has been drawn out long enough. Yesterday a crew came in to "clean up" and it's still a mess. Our neighbors and HOA are complaining of the mess on the street.

California Pools and Landscape was by and large a good pool company to work with. When I signed the contract I was told up front that due to supply chain issues different phases of the construction would be delayed. Also having the subs come off other jobs made the construction process one of fluidity as to when they were coming. Scott, the salesman was most responsive to any change orders I had. Dustin, the project manager was easy to contact if I had questions or concerns.

My biggest concern was making sure that the irrigation system would still be delivering water to all the backyard plantings. Several times the sub crews cut the irrigation lines and Dustin took care of getting the lines repaired quickly. My pool is finally finished and filled just in time for the hot weather. I must say it is beautiful! I love it!

We requested bids for a new pool build from 4 different companies and chose California Pools due to their professionalism and word of mouth reviews. They were very upfront with the timeframe of the build times and walked us through what to expect. Our project manager Christian Pierre and our construction manager Jordan Thrasher we're fantastic to work with.

They were always prompt at responding to any questions we had and made the entire project run extremely smooth. Each phase of the project was completed on or before the estimated dates and the contractors that did work were always courteous and did an amazing job. We couldn't be happier with the pool and they did a top notch job! We couldn't have made a better decision by choosing this company to do our pool.

From the initial consultation to the completion of the job, California Pools were professional, clear with scope, responsive, and the end result is beautiful. Kevin and Ashton were the two constant contacts throughout the process. They are professional and I can tell they genuinely take pride in their work and care very much about customer satisfaction. If quality, honesty, and professionalism is what you are looking for, I recommend California Pools 100%.

California Pools built a beautiful swimming pool for us! They had to fight through supply chain issues, material shortages and scarcity of sub-contractors but our project Superintendent, Scott Schmid, worked hard every day on our behalf! He kept us up to date on back ordered material and scheduling and if we had an issue he was right here in an instant with a solution! Thanks, Scott for your professionalism and for your calm, reassuring demeanor! We are eagerly awaiting summer!

Read the reviews - the horror stories from current customers are true. The delays, the excuses given are lies. They are actively advertising for new customers while leaving current ones mired in doubt & frustration - to say the least. Maybe you'll have better luck.

We purchased a house that 1 year previously had a pool installed. We needed some training on the pool equipment as we have not owned a pool before. There was a charge for the training, however the training was invaluable. In addition we have needed to have a couple warranty items taken care of they they have been quick to get these items scheduled and resolved.

The only reason for the 4/5 stars is that they cannot get their subcontractor who put our gate back on to come out and fix it correctly. I am sure this will be addressed shortly, however we have been waiting 6 months for their subcontractor to resolve this.

We are just finishing a complete pool and landscaping project at a new home that was completed in October. Obviously with the pandemic, global supply shortages and AZ labor challenges, this was a difficult time for a project like this. But we had a March deadline both personally and financially and we are thrilled to have achieved it. We have been impressed with California Pools & Landscaping crews throughout the project with their attention to detail and overall quality work.

And we are especially grateful to have had Bethany Howell as our Scheduling Manager for most of the project. In this difficult environment Bethany kept us informed, was always honest with what was occurring with the project and we felt was always looking out for our best interests. Thanks Bethany and Cal Pools, we can't wait for our Grandchildren to enjoy our backyard resort later this month.

What an experience it has been! After finishing up & filling our pool the end of November~~we were advised that there were patches that needed to be smoothed out for the pebble tech. They will be back out in January to empty my pool and smooth out the pebble tech patches and refill it. In the beginning of January they did this needless to say they sent me an email telling me what I HAD TO DO to restart my pool.

As far as I'm concerned I am not a pool person nor do I understand the "pool language" and was just told by our weekly pool company that they haven't been able to read our levels. I called California Pools to ask what the issue was and they told me it was my responsibility to restart my pool, after explaining the details to them they still told me they would charge me to come out and restart it and probably won't get here until the end of March. Also, that they are not responsible if my pool turns green.

In the end it will cost me $75 to restart my pool, $75 is peanuts from how many people I will tell not to use California pools they could've handled this a lot differently. In the meantime I was also told by my sales rep to send that water bill to them and they are denying that as well. So you ask would I refer California pools to my friends and family.absolutely not!

We have used California Pools and Landscape (Chandler Location) over the years for a few things to include a couple services requests of our automation equipment, installation of updated LED pool lighting, and most recently the remodel/installation of our new pool tiles. I am compelled to commend this business on the quality of work and high standard of project management because they have impressed me every time.

The sales, installation technicians, and warranty departments are on top of their game. I have hired dozens of contractors and businesses over the years for various projects and CA pools stands out for their commitment to taking care of the customer. It is apparent that every department takes pride in what they do and they do it well. Keep doing what you do, the way you do it now, and I will always be your customer. Thank you CA Pools!

The consultation and design by Damian K was impressive and transparent to a point that we signed our contract for the full services of California Pool & Landscape. The introduction of Nadine C. with scheduling was heaven sent as she led the planning with labor and crew assignment. Her communications was on point from every detail of each phase of the construction process that we did not have a worry or concern of what's next?

She kept us informed and up to date, while also communicating with Eric C, our Construction Manager for site evaluations and progressions of the project. What an amazing team.! In closing, I would suggest that new clients stay informed within the CPL Portal, communicate with your scheduling team but be patient and trust that the wait is worth the reward. Crew is working on Pebble-Tec today.! Water in pool by 01/31/2022.! Stay Tuned For Finished Outcome.!

Very mixed feelings about California Pools. The pool is in and beautiful but I've never dealt with a worse company. We put our deposit down in January 2021 and made all the choices by February. Then the city, HOA etc approvals. They finally came and started the demolition on April 18, tearing up all our grass and irrigation and took all our edging bricks.

We sat with a dust bowl for over 4 weeks before they came to dig the pool in mid-May. Now we sat with a big hole in the middle of the dust bowl for over a month. Finally in June and July we got sporadic action but now the monsoon came and our yard was a mud pit. We constantly contacted them and got tons of excuses. In September they said they were ready to do the shotcrete but before they would do it I had to make the full final payment.

I said you finish the job and I'll pay. I was told that a state law REQUIRED that I must pay in full before having the shotcrete done. I don't believe that for one second. Anyway the pool was essentially finished in early October but too late to swim. Maybe in April or May. Now we're still waiting for the UV system to be installed, which has been paid for. As I said the pool is beautiful and I'm sure the work and materials are very good. Hence, the two stars.

Cal Pools did our design and build a few years ago and it's awesome. We recently had an issue with a light in the pool and needed repair. Jessie R. was our technician and he was GREAT. He arrived on time and was very professional. He made sure he understood the problem and explained the solution clearly. He then made the repairs and everything worked great. He also cleaned up thoroughly and gave us some general tips and instructions for maintenance moving forward! Overall, a GREAT experience with Cal Pools thanks to Jessie R.

Do not recommend. We put our deposit down the first week in march, we were told we'd be swimming in August. We didn't dig until July. Workers constantly coming out to fix work done incorrectly and app always wrong -saying someone will come & they rarely show! We don't even have shotcrete yet. All our family coming in for Christmas and they've made our yard an embarrassing mess.

We have to constantly follow up with them to see what's happening-TERRIBLE communication. I have a friend putting in a pool with a different company and their experience is completely different.

We once had neighbors who used CalPool and were very happy so when the time came to get a pool at our new house we went with them. We contacted them in early January 2021. The consultation and process were wonderful. We were super impressed and signed the contract. It took a couple of months to tweak the design and get HOA approval but finally we were ready to go in early May.

We noticed that as the months passed communication gradually got worse and the burden of getting any information at all was up to us. Our contact, the designer, stopped answering emails or texts. We didn't want to be surprised for pregrade as we had planned to save several plants, so I specifically requested they give us at least 24 hours notice.

There was no response. On May 25, we were woken up very early to the sound of a backhoe in our backyard. They had cleared everything, even the plants we intended to save. We let our construction manager know our disapproval and again requested we always be notified ahead of time. Long story short, it just gets worse and worse as time goes on. Construction manager rarely showed up when he said, one time he said he'd be out the next day but instead went on vacation.

Everyone that came out after that showed up unannounced. Our project manager made a mistake that cost us $1700. We also find out our project manager/designer neglected to remind us that we can't have travertine next to a saltwater pool. Luckily someone else catches it, we have to switch to a UV which costs us an additional $380. There is never an apology for any of it although our complaining got us a credit. July 22, they finally do excavation. Monsoon arrives and the hole just caves in over the summer.

They had to do a muck out 3 times and rebuild the shell in September. September 22. - plumbers finally arrive, we're told it's one day. It took until October 6 and then we find out a few things are installed incorrectly. 49 days pass since we were told steel would be scheduled in 3-4 weeks. It's November 10. There is still no word on steel or fixing the plumbing. We're 3 months past the initial estimate of when the entire project would be done.

We expected delays but what we have experienced is horrible. Horrible communication, horrible transparency, horrible customer service. I'm constantly trying to get things done, to get answers and I get nothing but excuses. I find out several people in town built pools this year and had a great experience with different companies and now they are swimming. We're making payments on a dirt hole that probably won't be finished until well into the new year. I deeply regret going with CalPools and I highly suggest you do a LOT of digging on reviews before contracting with them.

California Pools was a pleasure to work with. They completed my pool at the end of July. Great communication, coordination, and organization! But, how is their service after the sale, you ask? Phenominal, applying the same attention to detail and concern that all is done right, as was done with pre-installation! Special shout outs to Cliff, Rhiannon, Jordan, and Gabe! Service over and above expectation. Thank you all. Ed C.

Hired California Pools & Landscape to redo the Pebble Tech on my pool. I was told up front the process could take up to 6 months to complete. Put inital seed money down near the end of Feb. and almost exactly 6 months later we are using our pool. Was it a perfect project? No, we had issues with the way the flagstone coping was installed, the deco drain installation (resolved), and rough areas in our pool's Pebble Tec. Are we happy with the end result of the pool? Yes, living without a pool in the summer is not enjoyable and our pool is blue now instead of green (Pebble Tec color differences not an unkept pool).

Thank you Ashton for all of your phone calls to let us know when crews would be at our home. You kept us informed on everything assosiated with our remodel and made me feel like I was the most important customer you had. Greatly appreicate all your help. I would also like to thank Kevin for all the help in smoothing out rough edges of the project as it progressed over the 6 month period. Kevin would get an earful of my complaints and always came up with resolution. Extremely grateful for our discussions on the issues we faced and overcame. Shout out to Big Mike S. for lending an ear and a helping hand when I needed it.

We have had a terrible time with this company! I thought I did enough homework on this company before I decided to hire them to do my pool and landscaping. Prices were comparable. Reviews I read were good. We liked the design Robby drew up for us and in January signed the contract to start our pool. Robby said with Covid there might be some delays, but you should have your pool mid summer.

They finally started the yard demo in March. They started digging on the pool in April and finished about 2 weeks later. Shotcrete was finally done the end of June. This was then followed by the slide and faux rock formation. We were told by Nadine that you probably won't get to enjoy your pool this summer, but think of all the summers in the future.

This obviously isn't what I wanted to hear, but Covid and lack of supplies were the culprit. Things really went south once the tile company took over the beginning of August. It is now September 27 and it still hasn't been completed. The coping has been ripped up twice. We have been told by Scott and Steven that they are new and need to be given a chance.

They laid down the tile into their version of what was on the design. Cuts weren't uniform. Tile was uneven and not level. There were significant chips on the corners. They would only work a few hours a day. No supervision even after we complained. We told California pools not to send them back, but they kept coming back to attempt to lay tile.

The tile people were suppose to work over Labor Day, but their "truck broke down" and they couldn't make it to the job site. Funny thing is they took all their tools, that had been in my yard for 2 weeks, with them when they left the job site the Friday before the holiday. They were finally fired from the job 2 weeks later for I'm assuming drinking on the job because I found 6 beer cans in my trash. California pools has been terrible at communicating with us about our project. Emails, texts, phone calls go unanswered.

Last week I was told by Todd on Wednesday the 22nd that workers would be out to work on the pool on Friday the 24th and my pool we be done in 2 1/2 weeks. No one has been back since. We were told today that they can't get a hold of the sub contractor. I can't believe California pools is leaving their reputation in the hands of this subcontractor. We are fed up with the handling of our project and we are tired of the front and back yards looking like an abandoned work site.

In response to Nicole at California Pools: Nice try! The work is still not done! The electric you set up for the hot tub is WRONG, no sign of when you'll come to fix it. Going on Ten Months.started in Dec '20. Oh and thanks for taking 4 months to reply to this post.just a sign of how y'all do things, I guess

This company is an absolute disgrace. At the beginning of the year we decided to move forward with getting our pool remodeled. We got several bids and unfortunately chose California Pools. After months of being given excuse after excuse they finally came and demoed the pool in early April. Our understanding was that it was a 6-8 week job. Would you believe these guys have not been back and continue to give excuses.

The final straw was today when they had committed to coming and doing the job and didn't show and not even the normal call from Ashton with yet another delay. I'm so annoyed that they demoed it, collected a good portion of the cost, and then never returned. My belief is that they knew they would not be getting to my pool anytime soon and this is why they demoed.to secure the job.

In the meantime my family and I could have been using our pool all summer instead of looking out our window to this eye sore. Looks like legal action is my only alternative. I have been nice and accommodating too long. Beware of this company. Do your research and find a company with integrity.

Very easy to work with and they are fast and responsive at communicating and answering any questions you have through out the project. Their App was the best. It lays out timelines and updated regularly of every last phase of the project. Big shout out to Nadine Chapman, our scheduler! Also enjoyed working with Steve Dreher who made sure we were happy with our project. Mike Lillis was our sales manager and ultimately it was him that made us choose CalPools. We had bids with 3 other companies but he was so responsive unlike the other companies we felt most comfortable going with CalPools.

California Pools and Landscape recently completed a pool and hardscape remodel in our backyard. We understood going into this project that there were some supplier and contractor delays to be expected during this unusually busy time for pool and construction businesses. While our project took a couple of weeks longer to complete than estimated, the work was done to our total satisfaction. California Pools kept us apprised of all steps in the process, as well as time frames and dates to expect contractors to be on site.

All California Pools employees we interacted with were professional, knowledgeable and willing to work with us regarding scheduling. Our project supervisor, Mark B., was always in communication with us and on site when needed. His depth of knowledge in building pools was invaluable to our project. Ashton V., our project coordinator, was always there for us whenever we called.

Her communication skills and willingness to do whatever it takes to satisfy the customer are remarkable. All of the contractors involved in our project were professional, always showed up as planned and helpful at every turn. We are totally satisfied with our completed project. We would highly recommend California Pools and Landscape to anyone looking for a new pool or remodel.

California Pools gave us a dream team to work with. Josh, Valerie and Dustin were absolutely wonderful and incredibly responsive each time I reached out with any questions or concerns. The communication throughout the process was clear on what would be done and when and what steps were remaining. Once the permit was approved the building of the pool happened in a very timely manner.

Our down payment was made in March and we were swimming by mid August. It probably would have been completed faster but they were limited on when they could start being limited by the home builder. They made every effort to work around my night shift schedule and when a big dust storm can through they stopped by to check up on my pool and even send out Gabe to service our pool and get it back to a sparkling color.

They quickly came out to address some issues we had with the pebbletec and those issues have already been resolved. Other than that, our pool has been incredibly low maintenance. Josh knows what he's talking about and what you need to have a low maintenance pool that practically takes care of itself. Valerie and Dustin managed the building of the pool very well and again, communication was stellar. Gabe showed me tricks on little things that go a long way to keeping the beautiful, clear and sparkling water. Thank you so much everyone, we will enjoy this space for years to come!

We had a perfect experience with Cal Pools. Our project was not large, by any stretch of the imagination. That being said we interviewed lots of small and large companies. Some blew us off, others showed up unprepared and others unprofessional. We initially reached out to Cal Pools at 9pm on a Friday. THEY CALLED BACK in 5 min! Who does that? They sent Paul and he impressed us even more.

Given our hopes and a plot plan he showed up with a great plan in hand and got to work. We moved a few things around, added a few features all while having a good conversation. His ideas and vision really came to life and we are so happy with the result. Paul passed the torch to Dustin who was on site to make sure everything was staying on schedule while being done correctly.

He was receptive to odd hour texts and emails. He is a fantastic foreman who knows what he is doing and how to get things done. Every crew who showed up were courteous and respectful. From breaking ground to shotcrete and finally adding water, every concern was addressed promptly and respectfully. Their app was helpful to know when things were going to happen.

Peace of mind right there. No guesswork needed. We chatted plenty about the schedule and our availability. It really was a nice element of the whole process. We have been enjoying the final few weeks of warm weather swimming and celebrating with family. We could not imagine the process being any better. We now have a pool, turf yard and a sitting area, all surrounded with flowers and Cactus. Thank you California Pools.

We interviewed four companies and liked the reps from three. We chose this company because they offered a complete service of designing and installing and warranting the pool, hardscape, and landscape. We wanted one company to be responsible and in their presentation they discussed the way the team worked. Joshua Turnbull did our design and was very knowledgeable about plants as well as pool design.

They are not the cheapest way to go. They are worth the extra cost. We had never bought a new build with HOA's to consider. We were not on site during process, and flew back and forth to approve materials and layouts. The process was not quick and easy, and it was mostly due to our schedules and my perfectionist eye. I see everything, from imbalance to off color to esthetic usefulness.

We all communicated clearly with one another via text and email as well as phone. I sent tons of pictures and questions. They had great foremen working for them. Each process had someone in charge, and each of those teams came in and out with professionalism. The attitude seems to be consistent within the company. They want you to be happy with the results long after the work has been done.

There are so many positive things I can say about them. If you want balance, I will say it wasn't seamless. Our project was big and it had it's problems. The impressive thing was that they sent someone immediately to fix any and all of our concerns.

My pool was built over a year and a half ago. The entire process from start to finish was done above expectation, as this was my 2nd pool build, and everyone involved was great. I'm very happy with the appearance of the pool, but very disappointed in the Cal Dek.
