We began Bright Leaf Landscaping in 2006 to provide clients with a Durham landscaping company that specializes in residential and commercial design, project management and installation. Since then we've expanded our service area to include Chapel Hill, Hillsborough and surrounding areas. Owner and landscape designer Jonathan Smith takes pride in every Bright Leaf project and is involved from concept to completion.This allows for subtle adjustments along the way, making sure each landscape is unique and meets our exacting standards. We specialize in Durham landscape design, installation, and project management.

Not sure what to make of this company. I have a rather large project and tried calling Sunday to leave a message and Voice box was full. That should have told me something. I just tried again at 10:30 and again no answer and the voice mail box is still full. I'll try one more time later today but if no answer or no way to leave a voicemail I'm done with them.

Michelle did a lovely design for both our front and back yards, and Jonathan and his crew did a very professional and timely installation, even coming back to make one adjustment we requested to make sure everything was perfect. Absolutely love our newly landscaped yard and look forward to working with them again!

I can't say enough about how happy I've been with Bright Leaf Landscaping. First, they really know what they're doing. I have a challenging yard, and they were able to figure out why and make recommendations for plants that will (hopefully!) thrive. They spent several days working on my yard, to ensure that all of the beds were appropriately prepped - exponentially longer than any of the other companies I've worked with over the years. They were friendly and professional, and didn't cut corners. I highly recommend their services.

I am so glad we chose Bright Leaf to update our landscaping and would highly recommend them. Our front yard was an overgrown jungle and completely overwhelming for me to take on our own. Jon and has team had the expertise to help bring it to a usable and aesthetically pleasing condition very quickly. Michelle worked with me to come up with a great design for our yard and stayed within budget. Plus, the underground water system they installed will make maintenance a breeze! Jon worked hand in hand with his team to bring the design to life and they were respectful to my family and neighbors in the process. The entire team did a fantastic job and we are very pleased with the end result!

I've been meaning to leave a review for a few years now. I'm currently wasting my time dealing with a damaged appliance delivery and was reminded of how nice it is to work with Bright Leaf. Five years ago we had them do two plantings and come back each Spring to cleanup the beds, fertilize, and mulch. For the design, they asked what types of plants/colors we would like, sent us examples of plants, and went over the design with us.
A neighbor let their dog dig up one of the new plants. I called Jon to get a replacement. I was fully expecting to pay, but Jon refused payment. Each Spring they do a fantastic job, and our beds look great. Everything they've done has been perfect. They really do top quality work.

Jonathan, the owner, and his crew, as well as Beth, one of his designers, are top-notch. They listened to exactly what I wanted, made a design plan, of which I had input, and the result was awesome. Can't say enough about Jonathan himself. He is very personable, professional, knowledgeable, and hard working. He was there, with his crew, doing the work each and every day.
I found his attention to detail was second to none. I'm so glad I gave my business to his company, and I was not disappointed. Having owned 4 homes from the NY suburbs to Chicago to Durham, NC over the last 35 years, I have used many landscaping companies. Guess I saved the best for last!

I am happy to have this opportunity to recommend Jonathan Smith and his company. They have done several landscaping jobs for Holy Infant Church, both on the church grounds, the parish office building and at the priests' residence. Last summer Bright Leaf completely re-did the foundation plantings at the priests' residence.

When I finally decided that I could bear the sight of my little yard in all its ugliness no more, I asked Jonathan to look at it and see what could be done.
