Todd was amazing! Not only did he fix my AC issue quickly, but he went above and beyond explaining the root cause and preventative measures I can take to avoid the issue again. The capacitor went out after some electrical issues were resolved and we'd started to boil. Todd came out and worked until 10pm to get us cooled down. He explained how the thermometer setting translates into degrees trying to be pushed through the vent and what will freeze your system up if you're not careful. Todd is my family's hero tonight!

When Calling to have them come service our microwave they asked for the model number of our Sharp microwave. The technician arrived and looked up the model number and tells me that they no longer make the parts to repair this model number. Such a scam they could have looked up this model before coming out but they wanted to make their $149 service call fee for doing absolutely nothing. Horrible customer service

ABA was a lifesaver for our family. After being out of town for the weekend, we came home to a hot house and discovered a snake had crawled into the outside unit and wrapped around the fan. When the fan turned on the snake was dead and the fan was not turning. We reached out to another company who promised to get out to us that evening but they never showed up.

The next morning after contacting 10 other companies, ABA was the only one who could actually send someone same day for an emergency repair. Blake (I think that was his name) showed up on time and had the unit running and cooling in less than 30 minutes. He was very professional and friendly. The office staff were equally amazing and gave some of the best customer service. Thank you, we will definitely call again for our air conditioning needs and will be happy to recommend you.

Just had ABA come out and check my AC which has been on the fritz for the better part of the past month. Blake came out, was personable and efficient along with letting me know what the exact issue was and showing me a pic of the issue he found. In this day and age it can be hard to trust some services as you hear the horror stories about people getting ripped off.

I will definitely be using ABA again when an issue arises or if I need to get an entirely new unit in the future. HIGHLY recommend these guys and don't hesitate to ask for Blake.

Our neighbor hired this company to fix their AC unit and while their unit was being repaired the repair technician blew a fuse to ours. Hey, accidents happen. We call the office to get them to send the repair technician back to fix it and MISTY answered the phone. After some back and forth she tells us that it is impossible that this could have occurred and it is NOT their fault and that they're not coming back.

At this point my condo is HOT and I'm getting frustrated. Misty starts to talk over me and after I told her to stop talking over me and to listen to me she HANGS UP on me. Our neighbor contacted the actual repair technician and they got the technician to come back. The technician admitted that they did in fact blow a fuse probably because of the way the building is wired and was SO NICE and helpful.

They fixed it, super fast and I can't emphasize how appropriately the technician responded to the situation. 5 stars to the technician admitting when something went wrong, owned it and took care of it. 1 star for a nasty receptionist. Misty was not listening to our problem and was actively trying to shirk responsibility while talking over me and then hanging up while I was trying to tell her what was going on. This is INCORRECT. Look at the other reviews before you hire this company.

Was at a rental property for a girls weekend and the a/c went out on the main floor. We called to have someone come out to fix it and Todd came out around 11pm and stayed until after midnight (1:45am) to make sure he got us some cool air for the remainder of our stay! Thank u so much for coming to our rescue. 10 outta 10 for us.

Tuesday I had a new A/C unit installed, after reading how important a proper installation is to the function of the unit(less than five years old), I feel that was part of the problem, the difference between the two is night and day. The tech was very professional and knowledgeable. Thank you for being old school and taking pride in your work. 4 dogs and I are very cool and happy.

The tech that arrived has me concerned about the competency of their staff. He was our second estimate on the AC that isn't working. He walked in asked me if my AC unit was outside, I said yes then showed him where the inside portion is located. He stared at it for a second, asked me what the last guy said was wrong with it, walked outside for maybe 20 seconds, walked back in then asked if I was going to pay cash.

He was here for an estimate and he didn't do a thing. When I called the office to get his name, because honestly I was worried he may have been on something and could possibly come back, the rude woman on the other line was refusing to give it to me and then said she didn't know how to spell his name. So are they even licensed?! Such a very creepy experience and definitely would NOT recommend. I do not usually write reviews, good or bad, but this has left me feeling very uncomfortable.

ABA has always been outstanding in sending someone out to take a look at AC or heating issues when we have called them. Managing several properties, this is very important to us. The techs have always called to let us know what the problem is and to request authorization to fix before actually performing the fix which we also appreciate very much. The office staff has always been helpful to review invoices if we have had any questions.

No Integrity. Do not use this company. ABA left me with a leaking pipe and water damage to my home and will not make good on it. I called and emailed and was told the manager was not in. I had to continue to call for two days. The. ABA will take no responsibility saying his repair guy did not leave any notes saying he cut my pipe. The repair guy told me he was working 16 hour days.

He told me I had backed up plumbing and he was trying to repair it. I told him I did not have backed up plumbing. He then said he was not going to charge me for work he did in the attic but then went outside and checked my unit and said I had a leak. He put Freon in and states it would hold me over until he came back tomorrow for a leak check that he suspected was only a small leak.

He did not come back for a week. He then said he performed the leak test, the leak was very small and he repaired it. I paid almost $500 only to end up 3 months later with my closet leaking. I called a different repair company who assessed the situation and told me if it was his mother he would tell her to call ABA back and ask them to send a manager out.

He said the pipe had been cut an inch too short and it was a rookie mistake. ABA manger would not come out or take any responsibility. He said this must have happened after his repair guy came out, he's seen it before where the pipes just come loose on their own. He said I would have known I had a leak sooner and there would be so much water leaking my roof would have caved in.

The new repair company says this is BS. Judge for yourself but CONSUMER BEWARE. Don't say you weren't warned when they come to your new home and cause you water damage to your new home!

Cody was the technician that came to service our system behind the mess that Strand Brothers made. He troubleshooted the entire system before diagnosing it, something that Strand Brothers and Fox services did not do but charges for. He got our system running as Strand Brothers (SB) had it wired incorrectly, SB had replaced our thermostats, and SB had cut our damper to turn it off. Had we had called ABA Heating and Cooling first, we would have saved money in unnecessary replacement of parts that probably were ok in the first place. The office staff at ABA are professional and courteous. The technician was on time and knows his stuff! I can't save enough about this company!

Tyler and ABA heating have been incredible. Up until my a recent purchase from ABA of a new HVAC, I was using a system that was easily 20 years old and on its last leg (to put it nicely). I've been working with ABA and Tyler for years now and never once was I pressured to get a new unit. He did everything in his power to keep the old one going as long as possible. Tyler is friendly, professional, kind hearted and treats his customers like family.

He goes out of his way and makes himself available for consult even at incredibly inconvenient times. I would recommend ABA to all of my friends and family. They do a great job, are trust worthy and take genuine pride in their work.

This local company is quality and affordable. Their customer service is the best I've received in years. They were the only company that answered the phone during a Texas State of Emergency Winter Storm and remained in touch during the week so we could rest assured that our needs would be met and our heat would remain on. Our technician, Tim was out all day and night (making sure that he made it to every stop so we wouldn't have to wait) battling the obstacles from the cold himself, and ensuring that people had heat during the terrible weather.

He was thorough, descriptive, friendly, and treated us with kindness and compassion. I am so grateful to this local company for their dedication to quality service and to Tim for his experience and dedication.

ABA is great! We used them to service our AC system, Kendall came out and was on time very friendly and great to work with. He cleared our drain line with out any issues and cleaned up after! ABA was able to send out a technician on a Friday afternoon with very short notice. (on a very hot long weekend) The replacement equipment was on hand the problem was fixed within 60 minutes. We were quoted a $ figure over the phone that was honored with no problems. I had an excellent experience with ABA customer service, timing and professionalism and would recommend them to others.

By far the worst appliance company we have ever worked with. They told us we needed a $1,000 part to fix our unit, and that if we didn't we'd have leaks in the house. We got the part, it broke less than two months later, they wouldn't fix it or refund us. Then we tried calling their manager for literally weeks and he wouldn't call us back. The. customer service rep would call him on the other line to talk to him about our issue while we waited on hold, but when we finally got a hold of him he said "he didn't have time to call us back". for 3 weeks. Zero integrity in this company.

We had 2-3 second opinions out, they said there was no way we needed to replace our part and our unit wasn't near getting replaced like ABA tried to convict us to do. Seriously the worst experience. They don't care about the customer at all.

Called this morning came out gave me a quote and signed papers. I now have a brand new system. Took about 4 hours. Great job! I cannot say enough about the Two men that put the new unit in. Very professional! Don't know how they do it in 90 degree heat. Thank you so much!

Absolutely awful experience. Our AC went out and we had used them before for a minor issue two years so called them again. they came out said it was clogged, said they'd cleared it and installed a pipe to help drain. Less than 24 hours and it was clogged again. Called them and they said "it might" be warrantied but they had to charge the weekend. fee to come out.really. to fix a job you didn't do right in the first place.

No confidence in them so called someone else who came out and said it was still totally clogged and did a poor job of installation on the pipe that was supposed to help.tried to get a refund and they said we should have called them. Lost all confidence in their work and service. WHY WOULD I CALL THEM AGAIN. They charged $500 to do nothing, the other company charges half that on a Sunday. DO NOT USE THEM! READ THE REVIEWS

THEY REFUSE TO REIMBURSE US $500 FOR WORK NOT DONE! Our AC stopped working on a Thursday night, it was clogged and we called them Friday. They came out and said system was clogged and "cleared" the drain, replaced some drain pipe, and added a safety switch. He did not stay over 20 minutes total and did not stay long enough to see if the system was fixe. Charged over $500.

Less than 24 hours later it was clogged again and not working. We had to sleep in over 90 degree heat. When we called the next day, a Saturday, they stated it was another $89 charge just to show up. We explained it wasn't fixed and they told us it may be warrantied but need to wait until Monday unless we may the fee again. We called another company that afternoon and they came out and said it was still clogged and the pipe installed was flat and still would not drain well. They fixed the clog, the pipe all for $270 including the after hours service charge. We are now trying to get the money back since. Do not recommend. Read the reviews!

Set up maintenance service for our AC unit last week with a phone call to ABA. Confirmed with the company on Friday for service today, June 3rd. Verified service between hours of 9-12 Noon, with a call thirty minutes before arrival. Received a call this morning that they received unexpected number of calls from customers having AC outages, and asked if service could be delayed until the afternoon, between 3-5 PM, with a call thirty minutes before arrival.

I said yes, that would work. Never received a service call.never received service.never received any communication from anyone at ABA. So, I spent an entire day waiting for service from ABA that never happened.very rude and unprofessional.

Contrary to some other reviews on this site, I feel I have received stellar service from ABA. My first experience with them was last summer, when my old HVAC developed a problem. They were the only firm I could find who answered a Friday evening phone call, and they came out and fixed the problem on a very hot weekend. Because of this experience, I had them replace the unit just this week with a new Bryant system.

They were able to offer financing that fit my budget. The installation crew showed up at the exact time we had agreed on. The crane needed for my rooftop installation was in and out expeditiously. And the entire installation was finished in what to me was a surprisingly short time. They left everything neat and clean, and made sure I was happy with the test operations before they left.

On top of all that, their office staff handled the warranty registration for all components of the system, and have helped me with filing for the city rebate. I am very happy with the service I have received from ABA.

We hope to be an ABA customer for another 20 years! ABA installed our Bryant AC unit twenty years ago and we've never had a problem. last night it finally died. my husband called their after hours number and Aaron came out first thing in the morning. it was a blessing considering i just had surgery and i'm supposed to stay in a cool environment to decrease infection risk - and we're enduring triple-digit weather. Aaron prioritized getting the old unit running again, bypassing parts that aren't even made anymore, and ensuring that its in good condition to run a little longer until we decide to replace it. we highly recommend ABA for their service and Bryant ACs for their reliability!

My experience with ABA left me with a new unit that has been poorly installed. Every penetration in the unit including electrical, plumbing, and duct have either leaked or were not sealed. The breaker for the blower was broken on the back side where it clips into the unit and is only secured by the air handler cover.

Avoid them like the plague. Very rude staff and manipulative. I am still fighting a restocking charge they put on my card for an A.C. they didn't even unbox not to mention install. All because I was inquiring about billing discrepancies. I even told them to do it and they took it back saying I wasted their time yet charged me for it. Avoid this company if you want honest dealings.

I own and manage a commercial building. My objective is to keep my tenants happy. ABA Appliance - Heating and Cooling is the only company I will use. They are super responsive! They send the same people everytime there is an issue which is important with a large commercial building. They are alway clean and courteous and interface well with my tenants. AC went out a few weeks ago. My good friends recommended ABA. they came out promptly and replaced my (flux) capacitor and something else thingy. cool air immediately. Returned home today and AC out again. I knew it was something different. After the hottest weekend in central Texas all of their after hour techs were occupied. This nice gent called and tried walking me through things and we ended up FaceTiming to a temporary fix. Thank you ABA. I hope all your clients experience are as great as mine!

**UPDATE: ABA returned my money after reading this review. I'm posting this update to reflect that, and bumping them up to 3/5.** Initial repair guy from ABA stayed late and tried his best to get my ductless mini-split system working correctly, but didn't have the knowledge of a more complex ductless system required to figure out the problem.

After 45 mins on hold with LG technical support, he had to give up for the day and get to another call. However, her promised his boss (owner of the company) knew more about these systems and would be part of a follow-up call the next day. He took my call fee and left. Next day 2 junior guys showed up at the house. They told the tenants that they were not equipped to handle the system and left.

I don't believe either had experience with these systems. They recommended a different AC provider instead. They have my money and now I've moved onto my third AC company for this problem. Disappointed.

On a Sunday morning in August heat, my AC went out. Kendall at ABA was here within an hour of calling, and got it fixed within 20 min. Very nice, knowledgeable and helpful.

They did a fantastic job for SIGNIFICANTLY LESS than quoted price from Honest AC. Saved us $250. Rudy was our tech and he was great. Quick and efficient. Morgan in the office was awesome for helping me stay calm. :- I will do business with them again and will recommend them to anyone.

ABA replaced our AC evaporator coil last year so we had them come out when our AC stopped working recently. Essentially the technician indicated we either needed to replace all these parts or purchase a new AC. He also indicated the new thermostat we had purchased was defective. We called Faught for a second opinion. They had it fixed in less than 1 hour. They also found that there was nothing wrong with our new thermostat. It had simply been installed and placed at the wrong setting.

I was in need of a split AC system in a timely manner, Aaron came out the same day I called and provided a quote and the system was installed within two days. Several weeks later we had to put a service call in on the system not cooling, Aaron informed me that the tech on call was not his best on these units so he would come out and take a look himself.

I considered these guys but after the phone etiquette, I can't imagine the service I may receive from one of their techs. I distinctly told the lady that answered the phone I was calling a couple of places to see what their costs would be for an estimate. She quoted me snd I asked her a couple of quick questions on what it covered and said I may be giving them a call back.

The tone she ended the call with made me feel as if though I had just wasted her time. They quickly fell off the list of possibilities. The first person you speak with is the face of the business & represents them as a business.

Our older air conditioning system had frozen over. I called ABA (had used their services 1 time before), and a service person called me back promptly, even though it was on a Saturday. Jared was very knowledgeable and hustled to get our system cleaned and running again. I would definitely recommend them, and will use them when we upgrade our system! Thanks, ABA!

My new carrier unit that ABA installed less than 1 year ago does NOT work. I called for service and was told that they only have 1 tech working the weekend and that he was booked up and couldn't make it until tomorrow. This is totally unacceptable and extremely poor service. What poor planning to only have 1 tech when the temps are hot! I bet if it was the owner that they would call another tech to fix his a/c immediately. I asked to talk to a manager and no call back yet. We will see if they will even call me.

Avoid at all costs. I called them to fix a Bosch dishwasher - they should have said they're not authorized to work on Bosch products and don't know anything about them. Instead they came out, pushed two buttons on the dishwasher and said "it needs a new control board" They charged by half the repair fee ($80) and said they would order the part from Bosch under warranty and call me once it came in to schedule the install.

After over a month without a dishwasher I called them to see what was up.they said I would have to call Bosch to get the part.so I did. Bosch said they only provide warranty parts to people authorized to work on Bosch equipment, and ABA was not. So I called an authorized tech who came out and diagnosed the problem to be a drain motor.part was ordered and installed a few days later.

The dishwasher has been running fine for months now. Due to the complete fraud of a visit I disputed the $80 charge on my Amex, which ABA fought and lost. So after a few months they have charged my card again $43.25. I've had to get Amex to put a permanent block on the merchant and they are still trying to fight my dispute of the most recent charge.

I didn't have to go any farther than a phone call to request a quote to install a dishwasher. They don't give quotes on the phone. They charge $85 to come out to assess the job and then give a quote. So right off the bat, they want $85 to tell me it will cost $150? I explained the impracticality of that concept and ultimately did get them to quote me ($150.00) which would include the call charge. ABA's telephone representative made no effort to even sound pleasant.

I know we all don't like Monday, but don't make the customer feel like it's their fault. 12/04/2015 - UPDATE! A new record! I posted my review in February and they finally got back to me 10 months later! So I guess that's how long it takes to get ABA to respond to a request for a quote. Note to ABA, I got it installed in February for $60. I couldn't wait for you to get back to me. Impressive that you're so busy, you take 10 months to respond. Stay busy!

Stay away from this company. They charged me almost 700 dollars to fix a furnace, then went away with the furnace turned off. We turned it on and the house filled at once with smoke. ABA sent some more people out and they said, sorry, we've turned your furnace off and it'll take about $1500 more dollars' work if you want us to turn it back on.

This happened right before Christmas, so days and days passed before we could get the furnace fixed by a reliable company--and we're still out our $700 all for nothing. This is the last time I hire anybody without consulting Yelp first! Older and wiser.

My tenant foolishly put down a $150 deposit for a part to fix the freezer on the refrigerator in his unit, despite NOT having cleared it with me first, as I would have checked Yelp and seen what poor reviews this 'business' has received. When I spoke with Jennie, the self-proclaimed manager and owner of ABA, she just repeated that they could not refund my tenant's money, even though she had already told him that it was a common part (so they should have been able to use it on another job, right?). Anyways, I offered to cover shipping the part back as well as a 10 or 15% "re-stocking fee, " but she just kept robotically repeating that she couldn't do it "because this is our policy, " even though I kept trying to point out that their policy is WRONG!

I own multiple rental properties and pointed out to her that she was basically shooting herself in the foot, as the expression goes, because I would never, EVER choose to do business with her, would follow up with a Yelp review, as well as file a complaint with the Better Business Bureaus, etc., but still she did not even attempt to work out a reasonable solution, eventually just hanging up on me.

Of course as soon as I checked ABA out on the BBB website, I come to find that they've had 27 complaints in the last 3 years, that and the SCATHING reviews that I've read here on Yelp and it makes you wonder how the heck businesses like hers survive in these trying economic times. The receipt doesn't even have the part number on it, I suspect because it's probably NOT a $150 part, but one that actually costs considerably less.

I am trying to do this not so I can continue to try and reason with this irrational, shortsighted business owner, but so that my tenant and I know how much we can try to sell the part back to a local thrift Store that repairs appliances as well. So it goes! Suffice it say that I will never, EVER do business with these people again, and will tell anyone who would ask, or listen, or whatever, that they lack integrity and ethics.

We had ABA Appliance out to fix our rising vent hood. A new replacement for this product costs $1,200 mind you. Initially they quoted us $485 to replace the board and switch. After 2 visits they replaced the parts, which did absolutely nothing to fix the vent! Once more they came out and determined they needed to fix the motor. Another $215! After 3 more trips, over a 2 month period, they installed the motor.

It still didn't work! $700 into this job so far with no result. They replaced another switch the next time out with got the vent to work. barely! It was super shaky and didn't work well at all. 3 months later it broke down again. I called ABA out only to have them say that they wouldn't honor their work and that I needed to replace a $500 switch!

I told them no way and now they are trying to slap a $40 service visit fee. The kicker here is that I got another repair firm out and they fixed the vent in 10 minutes. They said that the vent wasn't installed correctly and kept sliding off the track! Simple fix! Now we're $700 in the hole on a 10 year old $1,200 vent and ABA is trying to collect on their $40 service visit fee.

This is the absolute worst company I have every dealt with in my life. The repairmen are incompetent and will try to get the max repair charge out of you even if the appliance should be replaced in the first place. What a horrible company!

I was one of the lucky ones who was able to get one of the Texas rebates for a new AC unit this year, and since my old unit was over 15 years old it was really time. The furnace on it stopped working two years ago, so this last winter was very chilly to say the least. But I called around 3 local companies to get quotes on how much it would cost for a whole new system and ABA was very professional about the entire process.

They also were about 500$ less than the closest other company for the same equipment. Their installers seemed good at what they were doing, it took about 4 hours but I am told that is normal. They left the place as clean if not cleaner than when they arrived, and I have some great air conditioning again! Thanks ABA you will have my service for as long as I have this house.
