Has a great experience the other day with A+. Our new home has a irrigation system already installed and we knew nothing about how it worked. They came in and tested our backflow and sent the info to the city that is required yearly. Then not only made sure everything was on and working but took the time to show me how everything worked.

Garbage company with terrible customer service. It seems like they just buy up other companies instead of spending any money on keeping clients. I would recommend doing business with ANY other company and I promise you'll be glad you did.

We use A+ Lawn & Landscape yearly for our yard maintenance which would include weed control and fertilizer. Our yard looks great. We also have them come about every other year to have my push lawn mower maintained. They do it right in the driveway, and it includes sharpening the blade, tune up and cleaning. Lawn mower starts every time, and for being 8 years old, I couldn't ask for it to do more. Good job A+.

I contacted A+ lawn care which we actually previously in the last two years of done business with regarding our pond. It took them three weeks to return a phone call when I followed up twice actually about just speaking to them. Unfortunately I would not recommend them. Brandon, "The Pond Guy" is actually amazing and I highly recommend him!

By far the worst company I could have chosen to install my sprinkler system. Save your money and go elsewhere. None of my neighbors will be using A+. It's been months since the system was installed incorrectly and it still doesn't work as it should. Don't expect a call back when you call with issues. Even when they claim to have fixed what is wrong run your system like I did and you will find out that nothing was fixed. Update: Still won't fix the issues with my sprinklers, very disappointing.

Do not sign a contract with this company or give them a deposit. We signed a contract with them during the winter months and we're told that we would have an irrigation system and lighting installed at the very beginning of the spring season. In June after weeks of being told we were two weeks away from installation we finally requested that they cancel our job and return our deposit as we were moving on to another company.

They refused to return our $500 deposit and said that the contract has a 25% cancellation fee if you don't cancel within seven days. How would anyone know that they weren't going to show up and do the job in January when they give their deposit?! Ridiculous company that apparently makes money off of signing contracts that they never intend to fulfill. I had a bad feeling when the salesman was so pushy about getting us to sign the contract.

I had A+ lawn service come and do an lube and blade sharpening on my mower. This job includes oil change, oil filter replacement, tire pressure, deck cleaning, engine cleaning and also greasing of all moving parts. They came out and left me the bill with all the boxes checked that the job had been done. I usually do all this on my mower so I'm well aware of what needed to be done.

I checked all the work performed and found out that most of the job was no done correctly. Oil filter was not replaced, tire pressure was not checked and corrected, mower deck was not cleaned and engine was not cleaned. I was very disappointed that someone had claimed they did the job and thought I would not catch it. I do have to say that after calling A+ they sent someone out to re do the job.

The technician they sent out was very nice and re-did everything. He also let me know that the previous technician had not even touched the engine area and verified that the oil filter had not been replaced.

I have never been the type to complain, or write reviews, however, I feel obligated to. I have used A+ since building our home 2 years ago. After our first year of services (last spring) I called and wanted to talk to a sales person about our plan and areas that were still troubling - I did not get a call back after multiple messages until late summer when I told them I wanted to add additional services (and was called back immediately).

Again a few weeks ago with the goal of speaking with someone about my yard, I called multiple times was sent to salesmen's voicemails and was never called back. I spoke with the office manager and told her what was happening and that I just wanted to pay my balance and end my services through A+. She talked me into letting them have the chance to have Mark Harpenau (The manager of the division) come out and speak with me today at Noon. Noon came and went with no Mark (or anyone else for that matter) so I called the office manager who scheduled it and was simply told "I don't know why he isn't there, you are on his calendar still." She apologized (not her fault, she was very nice) and said she would leave him a message to check in with me, I also left him a message to see what was going on. Incredibly disappointing, and at this point, I would encourage people to use a different company for their services. Once A+ has you on a plan, they do not care at all about you, or your yard, or their own "commitment to their customer".

The worst company of any kind we have ever worked with. They are dishonest bullies that refused to communicate when things went wrong. Do not do business with these people unless you are willing to give into their strong arm tactics or to incur legal fees as we did to prove them wrong. Even after our position prevailed in small claims court, we still received a bill from them! Wow!

A+ gave us an estimate which we liked and agreed to. They (the crew) showed up on time worked very hard and got the job done. Afterwards they returned the next day and finished. Travis and Kara were on top of every aspect and were detailed in all aspects. This May Kara returned to do the spring start up. She tested the back flow preventer and had to do some wiring on the control box.

She turned the system on then made sure all the heads were working, making some adjustments where needed. Travis is coming out soon to talk about recommendations to our yard. I'm looking forward to it. From my limited experience with A+ I'd recommend them to all. Thank you.

As a sponsor of Cyclone Fanatic, I reached out to A+ Lawn and Landscape for lawn care. They came out and sprayed for weeds. That was fine. When they brought out the aerator, it tore up the lawn (big chunks of grass/sod ripped out). They left a note after they were finish saying the machine acted up and that they threw down some seed where the lawn was torn up. (If it acted up once, why keep using it?) Unsatisfied with the quality of the work, I called A+ to have a supervisor come out.

When the supervisor was here, he assured me that the places where the chunks of sod were ripped out would eventually level out. Fall and winter came and went. The snow has all melted. The chunks did not level out. There is a place in my backyard that is completely lumpy and uneven due to their negligence. I expected a lot from this company and was let down.

I would definitely not give them an A+. Update: Mark from A+ stopped by to discuss my concerns and take some pictures of the lawn. Mark is committed to rectifying the situation when the weather dries up a little bit. His responsiveness and commitment was appreciated.

BEWARE! I hired A+ Lawn Mowing for fall yard clean-up after contacting several of their competitors. They assured me that they would complete the job prior to our Township's street pick-up date. They asked for 100% payment of $275.65 prior to arrival, which I did plus I added a generous tip. After rescheduling us three times, they finally sent one person to our property with a small leaf blower, no gas, no rake, no other tools other than his cell phone which he was on frequently calling for help (he said).

In 5.5 hours of cell phone use they only blew one pile of leaves on the side of our house and never got a single leaf to the street. They sent me an email stating they would require another $150 plus $70 per bag for removal. With the street pick-up now the next day, I had no choice but to take off work to complete the job, of which I was able to do my entire yard in 5 hours with a rake and tarp. Afterwards I asked for a refund, since the 5.5 hours they worked at $30/man hour comes to $165, and I clearly overpaid for their incomplete service.

I asked for the balance in return of $155.65 which included the tip. They took days to respond and refused the refund request after several back-and-forth emails. They clearly misquoted and underestimated the job from the beginning. Their assurance on timing was a false claim. Their professionalism through the emails was abhorrent. I essentially paid $320.65 for one pile of leaves that I had to trudge to the street.

As a businessperson myself, I understand that things happen. But the key word is owner(ship), and in this case A+ Lawn Mowing does not own their mistakes and certainly does not demonstrate pride in their work, nor do they put the customer first. Heed my warning and stay away!

We live in Urbandale. We had maintenance contract with A+. After aerating several months back, A+ personnel damaged our iron fence gate. The management at A+ assured us they would pay for damage. We had damage repaired promptly and professionally by Central Fence, they in turn sent invoice to A+. It is now December. After numerous phone calls to A+ and being lied to, we paid Central Fence for the repair. A+ then had the gall to invoice us on our account and be paid for another maintenance service. This is the most horrible company I've ever dealt with. Terrible customer service. Every time they came by (without notice) they would leave our gate open and spray all the dog supplies we have in the backyard. I called numerous times and complained about this and was never given an apology or any attempt to make it right. Our yard is full of weeds despite numerous treatments.

Then they applied extra treatments like grub control that were not authorized. When I refused to pay for these they sent me to a collection agency. Avoid this company at all costs.

Have had treatments for about 5 months now. Have had to call them out for retreats as we learned they weren't doing the whole yard. 5 months later my yard is still covered in weeds and they have killed my bushes and peonies with overspray. When I call the office I get some answering service. Not overly impressed. I realize that you don't get a nice yard overnight but with that many treatments I shouldn't have weeds all over my yard. **Update - I had a manager come out and take a look and wrote down that I need to water my lawn more. Not sure what that has to do with getting weeds taken care of.

We filled it out and paid in full for the service of maintaining the lawn. Thinking it was a reputable business was our 1st and 2ndmistake. On May 2, 2021 our account was debited the $354.24. When we had not received a confirmation or heard from them after a few days, we called and left a message. Mark returned our call on May 5. I explained to Mark, my son in law recently passed away, his wife and daughters would probably not be able to afford staying here, and we had to think of the possibility of selling, so we needed to maintain the lawn and start the package we paid for ASAP.

By May 10, we had to hire someone else, grass and weeds grow fast in Iowa! We went through Lawnstarter, great customer service, to mow the lawn only. We were still hoping A+ who had our money would either return it, so we can hire someone else, or come out here and get the job done, simple and easy, no hard feelings. Well, neither has happened. Mark, from A+, had blatantly lied to me, promised to be here and then texted due to inclement weather.another person was supposed to get back to me.and then no communication at all. Well, we are at May 23, 2021, the lawn looks like crap, A+ still sucks, and my daughter, 28 yrs. old is a widow, with a 5 year old, a 2 year old, and 14 weeks pregnant, which Mark was told this, and he still took advantage of the situation. Am I bitter, yes I am?

We have asked our Credit Union to intervene to possibly get a refund through their means, to this day A+ has not responded to their request either. I told A+ I will post on every next door app in the area, I will post on every social media platform, I will file a complaint with the BBB, and I will get a permit from the city, stand out on Hickman and picket with a sign. Evidently they still don't care. Well, I do, we really have had enough served on our plates, and A+, with their lack of morals, and unfriendly business standards will get the brunt of my bitterness.

After 3 years of begging this provider to simply call me to let me know to unlock my gate, I decided it was time to part ways. The staff was always apologetic, but they just couldn't provide the service as promised. I did frequently have to get out the weed spray to get areas missed as well, they drive across the yard on the machine but clearly don't actually look for issues.

They are mowing or doing something to my neighbor's lawn right now. The sound, with all house windows shut is insanely loud. I have ear plugs in right now and it's still super loud. The poor kid trying to work the mower or whatever it is can barely push it and it is just SPEWING thick dark smoke. The kid is trying to lean way over each time it belches it out.

I don't know if they are not taking care of the equipment, if Iowa just has really lax laws on air pollution, or both. But regardless, I put it on A+ to try to be more environmentally conscious and not give make their employees sick by sending them using equipment that does this and to be thoughtful of the noise disturbances they are causing.

We've used A Plus for a number of years. In the past they've been a bit hit or miss. Each time there was a problem, they'd correct it, but it was costly in terms of time and money for them. In the past year or two they have really taken pains to improve their processes. This year our irrigation start up was perfect! And they are Covid19 compliant.

The communication around everything was excellent. My hat is off to Ethan. The Spring application and some repair to the yard was done by Aaron's crew. Again, the work was perfect. They even repaired some spots not discussed after asking me. No additional charge. If I hat a second hat it'd be off to Aaron. A Plus gets an A+ from me.

We have a lot of plants/trees and we were just in need of some weed control and fertilization. They were very helpful and did a great job. A plus lawn technician was very knowledgeable and took time to understand my concerns and personalized my service. Overall they are pretty affordable and are helpful with anything you may need. Definitely recommend them to anyone needing anything done with their lawn.

Their treatment to my yard made my lawn look beautiful all spring and summer. I will be definitely calling them up again when I need them. I was very content with the way they did their job. Thank you guys again!

Hired A+ to help tame some weeds in a yard which hadn't had any TLC from the previous owner. There were all kinds of weeds, and they were very comfortable. It was time to shake up their comfort level. Had a visit and got a quote and they were off to the races. The problems started almost immediately. While the first application went fine, the future ones caused some question marks.

Instead of spraying for weeds, they just fertilized. I was a little perplexed. Being home in the afternoon, I saw the whole thing. The invoice charged me for weed spraying. So I called and had someone come out and take a look as the weeds were not really impacted. One of the managers told me that yes, there were a lot of weeds in my yard and that they were hard to kill.

It was a confusing interaction having the lawn service you hired telling you that their job is in fact to kill weeds, but that the weeds in my yard looked like they hadn't been treated. As the summer went on, I did a little yard work and planted some new seed and did some core aeration. I called in to A+ to put an all stop an any and all service for a 6 week window to let the new grass grow.

Almost as if it was on cue, they showed up 2 weeks later and ran over every spot that was re-seeded. It was at this point when I fired A+ and began my search for a new lawn service.

A+ has a lot of nerve to not only not call us back to fairly discuss the bill they sent us for service we did not request but then hide behind their lack of service standards and send us to collections - mind you for a tree treatment we didn't ask them to come back to handle and yet because they serviced us one time they state that they are now our maintenance care provider? No no this is not how this works A+ more like F+

I think a true test of good customer service comes when something unfortunate happens, and the company then has only one chance to make it right, and thats what happened here. They didn't mow my side yard at first. Why? I don't know, maybe there was a misunderstanding or something on my yard, but I just let them know about it and they treated it like it was a VERY big deal, very apologetic and they made it right. That is all you can really ask for.

Been a customer for years, scheduled a sprinkler start up service last fall with shutdown. They did not show up. I called, they said I didn't "confirm" so they canceled it (I was never notified) and I rescheduled for tonight, 4-6, again no call no show. I called the main number and got their answering service, they said they paged the technician.

No call, no show. I called back at 7 pm, same routine. I understand you are busy, but so am I. So far I have wasted three hours during work hours, and three hours on a Friday evening hanging around the house. If it wasn't for the stupid back flow laws in Ankeny I could easily do it myself.

We had their service for 1 year and it was OK On the contract with them we stated that we would contact them if needed the following year. They automatically came out for the first application and applied it. We called them and told them we did not want it this year unless we contacted them. They appologized for the mistake THEY NOW SENT IT TO COLLECTION AGENCY. DO NOT USE THEM

Did a great job on my first mow, although it took a bit of time between the contract and the first mow, plus a follow-up call to start it, when they did do it, you could tell they took the time to mow and did the things that we cared about and had talked about with the rep prior to start. In addition, was surprised when a few days later they did the first lawn treatment. Much better than our old lawn service. Thanks A+

This company provides NO customer service and doesn't complete work. Avoid! I had used them for my irrigation system start up and repairs but no more.

A+ has done a very good job with lawn care. We also have them aerate and re seed. I request a call before they come and they always comply. I requested a certain area be a focus for weed removal and they did as asked. When I decided to re-landscape they gave me a bid, but I chose another means.

In my line of work, providing superior customer service is critical to be successful. That is why my wife and I place a very high priority on this with those businesses that support our household. We have been with A+ since we moved to Des Moines in 1993, and we have never given any thoughts to looking elsewhere when it comes to our lawn care and landscaping needs.

I hired A plus to mow my lawn once a week and edge once a month. The price they quoted me was different that the price they actually charged me when I was billed. The children that they hire out to do the jobs not only had full blades, but they seemed to be doing 25 mph in my yard and left my grass knocked over instead of mowed.

A+ has been taking care of my lawn for the past two years (new home). They put in my sprinkler system, landscaping, and also do my lawn treatments. They have provided me with some different alternatives to traditional lawn care that really seem to be making a difference (especially given the HORRIBLE soil I was left with from the home builder).

Total rip off. My brother recommended these guys to me, we were using there service for 2 plus years. I had a problem with my sprinkler system so i called them and fixed an appointment for there technician to have a look and fix the problem.
