The German cockroach is the most common cockroach in the Pacific Northwest. They are about ½ inch long, light brown in color with two dark brown stripes running lengthwise down the back. They are mostly nocturnal, but can be noticed during the day where there is a heavy infestation. Often when startled it can release an unpleasant odor.

These termites live under ground and are drawn to wood sources. A common sign of an infestation are visible mud tubes or shelter tubes, in which the termites can forge into exposed areas while maintaining its protection.

As wood damaging insects, they become a problem when a satellite colony moves into a structure; nesting in wall voids and insulation. A established colony can have 50,000-60,000 workers.
