Nest within structures and burrow; establish a territory near food sources, generally 10 to 30 feet from nest; inquisitive, but very wary; excellent climbers.
Mosquitoes
Report
Mosquitoes are well known by most people because of their annoying biting habit. Of greater concern, they are very important as vectors of numerous human diseases such as malaria, yellow fever, filariasis, dengue, encephalitis, and West Nile virus. Only female mosquitoes are known to bite (take blood meals on) humans and other host animals.
Cockroaches
Report
American cockroach adults are approximately 1 ½ - 2 inches long making them the largest of the house-infesting cockroaches. They may run rapidly and some adults may fly, when disturbed. In residential areas, these cockroaches live in basements, around pipes and sewers, and may move outdoors into yards during warm weather.
