About Us-A-1 Floor Covering, Inc. was originally started in 1972 by Roger Watley. Jimmy Chancler, Sr. and his wife, Harriet, bought the business from Roger in 1975. Jimmy and Harriet ran the family-owned business until 1995 when they retired and sold the business to their sons-Mark, Kelly and Jimmy, Jr.

Throughout the years of operation, many family members have been employed with the company in positions ranging from accounting to installation of products. The company's first location was at 2801 Amarillo Blvd. West. In 2002, the Chancler brothers acquired a new building located at 7201 Hillside-its current location.
