Your countertop stone has been sealed in the shop and again at the time of installation (sealing will slow how fast things can be absorbed into the stone). This should be done six months after installation and then every year there after. The lighter the stone color, the more likely it could stain. Dark colors are very difficult to stain, or at least, less noticeable.
