Thomas was very friendly and helpful. He was able to fit me in on the same day and spent extra time making sure my kitchen was electrically safe after an appliance malfunction. Additionally, he noticed a few other areas of maintenance regarding my HVAC system (not the initial reason for my appointment), took the time to educate me about more efficient/effective maintenance that will save time and money in the future. Thanks! Great service.

Tom and Mason arrived to my house this morning for a none-emergent repair of an electrical issue I was having in my kitchen. My issues involved improper wiring, old wiring, adding junction boxes and other issues I was not aware of. Tom diagnosed my issues and went over every option available to me. After deciding on what route I wanted to take, which was to fix everything to code and get it working properly, they got right to work. They did have to open up my wall in order to correct the issues. They made clean cuts and rewired everything to professional standards. When they were done they made sure everything was working properly and went over everything they did for me. Their work and personalities were of the utmost professional standards and above. Their timing was very prompt from the time I called the company to inquire about repairing my issues. I highly recommend Waldron Electric for any issues small or large. If you want it done right and in a timely manor call Waldron Electric! Thanks again for your great work.

Waldron Electric, Heating & Cooling: Fake review prodigy electric made this up used to work for us
We had power lines down due to a storm Tuesday. West Penn Power replaced them. I needed them to be inspected for reconnection. Waldron was one of the first on my google search, that was my first mistake. Scheduler promised he would be at my house between 10 and 11 am. I called at 1130 when no one showed up and received return call that lacked customer service skills and class.
He finally arrived here around 235pm. Would not get out of his truck to see the problem without handing him $225 CASH. He wrote us an estimate for almost $9k and said let me know if you want power today or I'm leaving. Fast forward to Prodigy Electrical Group. Showed up at 930pm. No cash fee. Very kind and knowledgeable. Worked into the early morning to get my power on for under $600.
We are upgrading our full panel with them next month because of that great experience and that is only costing $2700. Dont get ripped off folks. Predatory pricing is real. Knowing I was 3 days post op from an abdominal sugery and my daughter's birthday is this this weekend made Waldron try to get us for every dollar he could, while an honest Electrician got us up and running quickly and affordably and earned our business for life.
Do your research. There are tons of articles and cases against Waldron, including the FTC for unfair pricing. I didn't do my research initially because I was in a panic and wanted a resolution quickly. Do yourself a favor and contact Keaton at Prodigy Electrical Group LLC. Waldron should not be in business and I would give zero stars if possible.

With the hot weather in Pittsburgh, my small business pizza shop was a in a vulnerable position when the outlets stopped working. Just coming back from such a tough year for small business we wanted to get this fixed because the AC was also not working which would cause us to shut our doors until it was fixed. We called Waldron and they showed up immediately asking $275 in cash, just to walk through the door.
We were okay with paying that, but the manner in which he asked was completely rude; saying "You're a pizza shop, you don't have cash?" It was a holiday weekend so we had been closed and did not have cash on hand. Being in such a frenzy and vulnerable state, my father signed a paper then was charged $5000 to get a fused fixed which took less than a half hour.
This is completely wrong and with the last year we had due to COVID, we feel completely taken advantage of. We then did some research and saw a lot of complaints with the attorney generals office. We will be looking into this.

I am sick to my stomach what happened to me yesterday. I am a new home owner and this was my first time requesting service for anything. I had no idea what things would cost. I know things aren't cheap. But cheap is relative. So. I lose power to half of my main floor. I decide to call this company. I read reviews and was pretty floored by the Google rating.
He tells me if it's not a true emergency he advises to not have him come out in the evening. It was $375 instead of $150. I agree and we daisy chained the fridge for the night. He comes and charges the $150, then a $975 just to diagnose the problem. I should have turned away there but like I said - I know nothing! My parents never really had problems that they had to call an electrician for.
So I sign and pay. Honestly I thought the diagnosis had been done already? I don't know. I was confused and overwhelmed. So he comes back up. Pulls out a book of prices and estimates me over $4500 for the job. Again going back to my original statement, my dumb self went forward because he made it sound like it was an emergency. He wiggled my main and made it buzz and slightly spark and said "thank God you called".
I didn't know this was a $1000 job. I didn't know I could get another electrician out today and still have a house left standing. All he did was replace main and a few breakers. I learned I could have upgraded my whole system for less than $2000. I am calling the attorney general's office today to file a complaint and get advice. A number of people are advising me to dispute the charges.
I have called to do that but I have to wait. I am going to ask the AG if they advise to do that. I'm out almost $6000 because of this man. I am just sick thinking about how someone could do this.

Tried to scam my elderly parents. Immediately asked for his fee to even come out or did anything but on the contract he asked them to sign it said that he could immediately charge your card anything else he wanted without telling you again. Then he proceeded to try and charge them over 1,000 on top of that called his "diagnostic fee" just to look at something that it was made clear didn't need to be looked at that wasn't even what he was called there for.

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. Took advantage of me during what I thought was an emergency electrical situation to charge 5 TIMES market rate for electric work ($15,000, fifteen THOUSAND). Do your research and do not trust this electrician. He scammed me with his price gauging, don't let it happen to anyone you know!

So i called these guys to come fix a gfci. No biggie. Tech calls me and says your in a high rise and we charge $225 for a call out when the office quoted $110. Hmmm. Our building is three stories. Next he asks the problem. I explain and he says its gonna be $400. Excuse me.a gfci tripped and i replaced it which now works but the single pole light switch didnt.
I also explained there was a live wire just hanging free. He explained that since i replaced the gfci he had to troubleshoot the line. No shit! Needless to say i told him no thanks, too expensive and then he tells me im about to get a big dose of reality. Heres the thing. I renovate houses so i know bullshit when i hear it. Companies like this need to go away.

Unfortunately, I did not look at the reviews before I had contacted this company. This was a Saturday and he stated it would be 175.00 just to come out. I said that was fine but I just wanted an estimate on my electric panel if it would need repair. When he arrived, the first thing he did was charge my card. He then told me that to give an estimate it would cost me around $350 to start.
I told him I was not going to pay that because when I called originally he knew it was for an estimate. Then he said ok, just let me look at it. He went in to see the panel and then proceeded to tell me he was professional and an Inspector. He then told me the whole panel would need replaced. This was an easy fix. He then proceeded to go outside and look at the service and said that it would need fixed as well.
Wound up giving me an estimate for 4200.00. All the while using his phone with calls. Then after he wrote up the estimate, he told me to give him a 5 Star review and pulled it up on the phone and watched me do it. He didn't know that I did not hit the send button to review this. Definitely never again will I call them!

Stay away! This company is a predator feeding on the misfortunes of others. After a storm a tree branch dropped on the main line to our house and ripped the conduit off of the houuse. Duquesne Light said they would reattach the lines to the house but we would need an electrician to complete the feed to the meter. This was on a Sunday evening. We called Waldron Electric, who said there was a $425 fee to send a bucket truck on an emergency basis, and that they could do the job the same night.
At the time we still had power lines down and didn't even know how safe the situation was. He said on the phone that the job might cost $3,000 - $5,000. He also said that he wanted to replace existing metal conduit with PVC, a downgrade from what was previously there (likely not up to code due to the height of the line over the roof). It took a few hours for him to arrive.
When he arrived at the house the first thing we had to do was give him a credit card for the truck fee, even before he assessed any damage. After that he told us the estimate was $8,000 - $13,500 to do the job that night, and that it would be around $7,500 to do it on a non-emergency basis. He also told us he really didn't want to do the work that night, even though he already had the supplies on his truck.
Some excuse about having to see a chiropractor from the pain the job would cause him. At this time we realized he was a running a scam, refused the service, and told him to leave. We were now running on an emergency generator. He immediately dropped his price to $6,800 for a rebuild with metal conduit and $3,500 for PVC, but only if he could do it the next day.
He also suggested ways to pad the estimate for the insurance claim. The following day we got a referral for a local electrician who did the job for less than $1,000 and completed the work the same day. We were very happy with the results of that company.

Be careful with this company. Biggest scam artist I've ever dealt with - $1500 to change a breaker switch which was 30 minutes of work. When called to complain office people hung up on us. Do yourself a huge favor and research the company. Look at the owner's responses to google's negative reviews to the company and you will be shocked as to how he responds to his customers. If you want to pay 10x the appropriate cost, then call this clown. I don't know about the electrician part, but I do know he is a professional scammer.

Our furnace stopped working in the middle of January, and unfortunately, we found these crooks online. Charged us $1700 just to show up and then did NOTHING. Claimed that it would cost $5000 to do the actual repair. Very rude. When I had another company evaluate the issue, we found out that Waldron gave us a totally incorrect diagnosis on the issue.
The second company (which was a great company) took care of the whole issue for $200. I never got my $1700 back, bc they have an iron clad contract. They have had multiple complaints against them. They even used to be known as a different company name. (They changed the name after they were forced to pay out some money in some lawsuits.) Do NOT use these people. Total Crooks!
