When replacing a lock on your home, you should get the same brand locks as the rest of your house so your new lock can be keyed to your house key. For the best security on all outside doors, you should have a dead bolt lock on it. Also, the strike plate on the door jamb should be installed with two - three inch screws. This provides extra strength for a forced entry.

I called First Quality Lock and Key at 1:15pm on a Friday to schedule an appointment for a re-keying of a new house I just bought. There was no need to schedule an appointment, they arrived at my new house at 2:30pm the same day. Technician was very quick to get all needed locks re-keyed. I went with First Quality through a referral from my realtor, and I can see why he tells all his clients about this place.

I would definitely recommend. Pricing was also very competitive. This will be the only place that I call whenever needing any type of locksmith service. Great Job! A+. I would give 10 stars if I could.

When he said that he could make a duplicate key but couldn't guarantee that it would work, well. he wasn't kidding, it didn't. Before I left I told him that the tip was off and the landings didn't go deep enough he only said that it was what the machine could do. He didn't even bother to check it himself or try to make any correction.

We called the people at 1st Quality Lock and Key and were happy they could come out the same day. When the locksmith showed up he immediately started working on the problem and after just a few minutes got it working like new! He explained that it just needed a little lubrication and strike adjustment to get it back to normal.

Then he asked if there were any other lock problems that needed attention while he was here. I remembered a file cabinet that accidentally got locked (and we've never had a key). He not only got it open but made us a key! Would definitely recommend this place! : )
