Plantation Shutters
Our plantation shutters combine timeless elegance with practical benefits, offering superior light control, energy efficiency, and increased home value. Crafted from real wood or durable poly materials, they resist warping in Florida's climate. Custom designs ensure perfect fit for any window shape or size.
Motorized Window Shades
Motorized shades provide hands-free convenience with remote, app, or voice control via Alexa or Google Assistant. Ideal for hard-to-reach windows, they enhance safety by eliminating cords while maintaining precise light management and energy savings.
Cellular Shades
Cellular shades feature insulating honeycomb structures that reduce energy costs by regulating indoor temperatures. Available in single or double-cell designs, they offer noise reduction and UV protection while maintaining a sleek, modern appearance.
Solar Shades
Solar shades block harmful UV rays without obstructing outdoor views, using synthetic mesh fabric in varying opacity levels. They prevent furniture fading and glare, making them ideal for sunny Florida rooms with large windows or patio doors.
Faux Wood Blinds
Faux wood blinds mimic natural wood aesthetics with moisture-resistant polymer materials, perfect for humid environments. Available in 2-inch slats with paint or stain finishes, they offer durability and easy cleaning at an affordable price point.

We purchased a number of different type of blinds for our windows in 2012 for our new house. Doug and Maria were so helpful in suggestions that were pertinent to window view, i.e. to sit and look out/sun protection/privacy etc. for window treatments for each window. They were very professional in the installing. Just recently (2021 - 9 years later later) our remote controller for our roll up blinds quit working. They graciously came by and replaced the controller, which took extra work with the older model motor in the shade. We highly recommend Blinds By Design for personal service with Doug and Maria.

It isn't easy to be absolutely 100% satisfied with a project, but we absolutely are with our shutters from Blinds by Design. From the initial conversation to set up an estimate to the install, everything was exactly as it should be. Fantastic communication throughout the process and the timeline given was met exactly. We love the shutters. Doug and Maria are true pros and on top of that really nice people to work with. We can't recommend them highly enough.

Maria and Douglas came to our house with examples and explained choices. Pros and Cons of every example they have. Options of half windows or full opening. Choice of colors. Every size is custom made. Installation is included in price. Picture perfect. Well worth it and lifetime warranty. See for yourself!

Doug Faivre and his wife Maria have once again done an amazing job for us Brits in our new Orlando home. Despite covid restrictions they went the extra mile as before to prepare and carry out the installations of blinds in all of our rooms and accommodated all our wishes in our new build home in Davenport, Florida. We cannot over-emphasise how great a job they have done for us and we would heartily recommend them to anyone needing High Quality, reasonable priced and expertly fitted Blinds and Window Coverings. Thanks Doug and Maria - we are so grateful ! Best regards Julie and James Shepherd from Cheshire in UK.

We had an awesome experience with Doug and Maria at Blinds By Design. This is our second home they have provided Plantation Shutters for but will probably not be the last. After shopping around quite a bit, we found that their product and service is far superior than their competitors. Doug and Maria were easy to work with from estimate to installation and we never felt pressure to buy from them nor did they try to upsell anything.

They gave us exactly what we wanted and made recommendations when we asked for them. You will not find a better company for your window treatment needs. The product they use is so solid you will definitely see your electric bills go down in the summer. We did! We will use them for our next project without hesitation.

An honest company who will always have your best Interest! I Decided to get plantation shutters for my home and of course the places Ive researched were booked out and the earliest they could have my shutters was 6-9 weeks five or take then they had to schedule installation. On top of that, the price I was quoted were!
Luckily my realtor @LaurieVarner referred me to Douglas and his wife who works directly with a manufacturer here in Florida and they could have everything ready in 4 weeks. Also, the price quoted was unbelievable! The installation took about 2 hours. Gosh! The difference it makes in your home when you have plantation shutters! So worth it!!

We love Blinds By design, Inc. Owners Doug and Maria are the nicest people to work with. They know their business. This is the 2nd home we used have used their services. We loved them the first time, so why wouldn't we use them again. Same people, great products, perfect installation. What we also like about them, THEY LISTEN TO THE CUSTOMER! They sold us what we wanted, not what they want us to buy. They are also on time for appointment. Installed right on time as they promised. They were very professional throughout the
process. I would recommend them to anyone.

After building our home, Doug and Maria helped us furnish our house with window treatments, including a large motorized shade for a sliding glass door. They provided great service throughout the product selection and installation process. They have a large selection of products and their mobile showroom makes fabric selection so much easier because you can see the product samples in your own home! We highly recommend Blinds by Design if you're in the market for new window treatments!

GORGEOUS! What a huge difference our wonderful shutters make in both our bedroom and our living room! Doug and his wife, Maria are quite a team! From the first contact to the installation, they were amazing! They are helpful, professional, and have added beauty to our home. After the fabulous job they did customizing our difficult arched, front window, we knew we would ask them back when we remodeled our bedroom. And they delivered once again. : Thank you Doug and Maria! We so appreciate having such friendly, reliable customer service. Small business done right.

What a great experience working with this company. Doug and Maria were very friendly and super knowledgable about the product. I have an old house and wasn't sure how plantation shutters were going to look on the outside of the window frame, but they look marvelous. More than marvelous, I just love them. They brighten up every room I had them installed in. I can't stop looking at them.

I am giving 5 stars even though I never received services from Blinds by Design. I contacted them through Yelp, got prompt response. They did not serve my area, but made valuable suggestions. I followed their advice and was very happy with end result. I appreciate their honest and open communication, recommend.

The Orlando Cat Caf reached out to Blinds by Design when we were in search of a company to install shades for our front windows. With 15-20 cats in our room, we needed shades that would be kitty-friendly, keep heat out of our room, be visually appealing, and of course, affordable. Turns out, Doug and Marie are huge cat lovers with many rescue kitties of their own, so they knew what type of shades to recommend for our situation. They were extremely professional and pleasant to work with. The kitties (and I) would highly recommend Blinds By Design!

We've had our shades for 6 months now and we're very satisfied. Doug and Maria are kind people who were a pleasure to work with and I appreciated their input and advice navigating their vast selection of products. We ended up with cord-locking cellular shades and a roller shade for the back porch and we couldn't be happier with the look and performance of the products. I didn't realize I'd spent my whole life around inferior window treatments until our new shades were installed. Wow! Highly recommended. Blinds By Design is operated with a trustworthiness and integrity that is hard to find.

We LOVE our fabulous shutters on the windows and doors! The triple slider shutters are breathtaking. Already one of our neighbors just paid us the biggest compliment by talking about how our shutters are much better quality than their brand new ones! What a great experience! Thanks for your patience throughout the entire process.

My husband and I were relocating from NY to Orlando and building a house. We knew that we did not want to use the builder's window-treatment offering, but we were baffled at the array of choices in the area. After doing a lot of online research, I reached out to several vendors. Doug and Maria got back to us right away. They provided us with clear, concise information and options with realistic prices.

They even traveled to the model home that we selected to give us more true estimates and advice based on a home similar to ours that was already built. It was really reassuring to work with them from so far away and to know that we were being taken care of by perfectionists and professionals. We are thrilled with our plantation shutters and motorized blinds. They look great, they function well and we now have beautiful privacy in our new home. THANKS DOUG AND MARIA :-
