Tree Trimming
Professional tree trimming maintains healthy growth patterns while ensuring safety around utility lines and structures. Our certified arborists follow federal and state clearance regulations, using specialized equipment to shape trees properly and prevent storm damage, particularly for young trees needing formative pruning that enhances longevity and structural integrity.
Tree Removal
Safe tree removal handles hazardous or unwanted trees using controlled techniques. Our crew removes trunks in sections, clears debris on-site, and offers stump grinding services. We specialize in difficult removals near buildings, driveways, and power lines, with proper insurance coverage protecting both your property and our workers during the process.
Stump Grinding
Stump grinding eliminates leftover tree stumps after removal. Our specialized equipment reduces stumps to wood chips, allowing seamless landscape restoration. While root removal isn't included, we address surface roots disrupting pavement. This service improves aesthetics and prevents potential tripping hazards or pest infestations associated with decaying stumps.
Emergency Service
24/7 emergency tree service addresses urgent situations from fallen trees or broken branches. Available year-round, our rapid response team handles Queens County and surrounding areas, clearing debris from properties and securing unsafe trees after storms, high winds, or winter damage to restore safety and accessibility promptly.
Commercial Tree Care
Comprehensive commercial tree maintenance ensures business properties maintain professional appearance while meeting safety standards. Our services include scheduled pruning, hazard assessments, and large-scale removals for corporate campuses, apartment complexes, and retail properties, backed by liability insurance and performed by experienced arborists familiar with Queens' urban forestry requirements.

JR's team arrived at my house and promptly removed a large tree in my front yard. The team was professional, neat, and well organized. Watching JR's crew was like watching a symphony orchestra; everyone knew their place and exactly what to do. Price was reasonable and competitive with other quotes I received from other local tree companies. If you're in the market for tree service, you will be hard pressed to find any better than JR's Tree Service.

On time, respectful, cleaned up my yard, just EXCELLENT. They had tight quarters to work in for such a big tree but did so with precision and speed. From start (discussing options with Mark) to finish, an excellent experience. I will definitely use their services again if need be, and I will recommend this company to others. Service: Tree removal

On this date, 8/25/2020, JR's tree service removed a tree damaged from the last Tropical Storm. This tree was over 60 feet with dead branches. They set an arrival time, 11am, and arrived 10:50am. Their crew were organized, prepared with proper tools and safety gear. Within 2hrs., the tree was cut down, removed and my yard and debris cleaned up. They were professional. I would definitely recommend JR's tree service.

Showed up quickly, estimate was fair considering the ridiculous price given by another vendor. Job was completed professionally and in a timely manner. They removed a large Oak tree and 2 Evergreens and they cleaned up all the little bushes as well! All stumps were removed and ground.

JR Tree Service removed 4 large trees from our property. They did an amazing job from start to finish, including the clean up. The team was pleasant, quick and professional. They gave us a great price for ALL the work that was done (best estimate we received). They finished the work in the time frame given. I would highly recommend this company. Thank You JR Tree Service for a job well done! - The Dacres Family.

This business is extremely reliable and responsible. From the time we called for an estimate to the very end of their service they communicate and kept me in the loop every step of the way. They got the permit to trim the branches hanging over our property which took about two weeks and they scheduled an appointment to get it done. When they got here they did exactly what was asked for and then some.

They cleaned up all the twigs that was left behind. Everyone was polite and friendly and smile when spoken to. Will definitely recommend them for the job. Keep up the awesome Jeff and your team, a job well done.

Our trees were hanging over our house and created way too much shade in our yard to the point that our grass back there was largely moss. We needed a tree service and turned to yelp which pointed us to JRs. Today we had our trees trimmed by JRs and I want to echo the sentiments already expressed here on yelp. The guys did a great job. They showed up on time and got right to work. They were efficient and wasted no time.

The price was fair and the work done was meticulous. They cleaned up as they worked and by the time they left the yard looked better than before they arrived. We are very pleased with the service and would absolutely recommend them as well as use them in the future for any of our tree trimming needs.

I highly recommend Jeff and his team! My tree was rooting too close to the house and large branches were about to fall down. I called Jeff and he came over the next day to do an estimate. The prices were great (compared to some other places I had quoted) and he came on a weekend with his team to do the job. It took an hour or less and his team was highly efficient! They cleaned up amazingly well (no joke when people said they did a great job clearing the debris, I was skeptical of it at first but they really did a great job)! What's more is that Jeff always returns your calls and everyone has a good demeanor and not rude (unlike some other places). I will definitely use their service again!

Professional and efficient. I've seen several tree cutters at work and their lack of safety first is scary. Not with this company. They are careful of each other and the surroundings. Their clean up is equal to none, you wouldn't know they were here. Except for what is gone from what they cut down. There are no twigs or wood chips/cuttings left behind. Their scheduled date and time was exact and prompt.

Price reasonable, as I was quoted by another service, that I did not use, for four times as much, which I thought was way over priced for what needed to be done. J.R's Tree Service will not rip you off, but will leave you a satisfied happy customer.

Highly recommended! I previously had a terrible experience with another tree company when trying to remove 2 trees in my yard. I was super nervous when i called JR but was pleasantly surprised when they gave me a quote which was literally half the price of the place i previously attempted to have my trees removed with. It took them less than 30mins to take down the 2 trees n clean up on the day of removal. They came back the following week to remove the stump and that was also a quick process. Everything went smoothly! I'm really grateful for their service and low prices!

Excellent overall experience. Made an appointment with the team to come look at a dead tree in my neighbor's yard, and they came by the same day. We were able to come to an agreement on a fair price to cut it down. Scheduling the actual tree removal was quick and easy, and they came by first thing in the morning at 7:15. The job was done by 8:30 with the tree cut down and all the residual branches and sawdust were removed and cleaned up. Great customer service, very friendly, and fair with their prices. Highly recommend them and would definitely use their services again.

I would definitely call them again!

Thank you to you and your team for an excellent job at our home. We had a large maple tree removed from our tiny backyard and the team at JR's did a great job at maneuvering the large branches to avoid our plants and the siding on our house. As soon as the tree was down, the team quickly cleaned up all of the loose leaves, twigs, and branches. We appreciate the level of professionalism shown by the entire staff. Will definitely recommend your services. Thank you again!

Could not have been happier. From start to finish, they were top notch. The owner, Jeff, came to give us an estimate almost immediately, after making an appt. with their office. They returned soon after to do some major tree trimming, in very tight quarters, behind our home. They left no evidence they had even been here, their clean up was so good. Highly recommend.

I had a large unruly red plum tree which I love but which had grown out of control in my backyard. I didn't even feel like going back there to grill because it was dark and buggy and I had to bend over due to all the low-hanging branches literally getting in my hair. JR came to the rescue and gave me a very fair price and trimmed the tree beautifully. He also cleaned up perfectly. There was not one branch or leaf left in my yard. JR is a gentleman who keeps his word and is always on time. I can assure you there is no one else in New York who does what he does. I will be giving him additional business. Hire with confidence!

Jeff came by the house and gave us a great estimate and wrote price on the card. He stick with quote he gave to us. We called him in a day to ask him to start. We cut one dead tree and another tree that was hanging over to neighbor's backyard. They arrived 15 mins early at 7AM and ring our bell to let us know they were ready to start. I saw one guy with all gear up climbed on tree to cut from all the way top to down.

Because the tree is surround with wires so he cut very carefully. I asked Jeff (the owner) that i wanted to cut down two more small planet. He gave me very fair price. They started clean up right after their job. Very professional. We leave the house by 8AM and able to drop kids off to school without taking extra day off.
