Incepector Handyman

Update- Still waiting for Incepector Handyman to make this right. I would not use them again.

Even though we are satisfied with the quality of work, we are unsatisfied with the amount of work completed. We were very disappointed Incepector Handyman Jim arrived without the necessary materials (drywall, texturing material and shower tile adhesive) to do the jobs my husband discussed with him over the phone. My husband sent him pictures and dimensions immediately after their phone conversation.

We went to Home Depot to get these materials, unfortunately Home Depot doesn't stock the same window sill material Jim said we needed and that he'd provide to repair the most important fix (cracked window sill) we hired him for. We are unsatisfied with the amount of work done for what we paid. Incepector Handyman Jim charged us $75 per man per hour, for 2 men we paid $150/hour.

For $1,150, we expected more work to be completed. When my husband told this to Jim, Jim said, "You got all the work you paid for and we didn't milk the clock." We paid for 15 man hours and this is what we got: - 6 small areas of repaired and textured drywall (no paint) along with touching up several scuffed areas. - Re-positioned a toilet paper holder and towel hook, - Applied caulk to an external window sill (ladder required), and, - Installed 5 pieces of interior door trim. Jim also rounded up the last work hour by 15 minutes, for an extra $37.50.

When my husband described the window sill repair job on the phone to Jim, Jim explained the type of wood we needed as well as the specific store he would pick it up from; therefore, we expected him to have the wood with him. My husband also told Jim it was a 2nd floor window as shown in the photos we sent him. When Incepector Handyman Jim arrived, it appeared he had no intention of fixing the window sill because he explained he doesn't like to work in the hot sun so he wouldn't fix it until the fall.

He also said he doesn't like to work from a ladder, so he wants us to rent scaffolding for him. Since we were very concerned with the crack in the window sill and potential water damage, they made a temporary fix by filling the crack with caulk. Had we known how slow they worked, it would have been better for us to pay by the job. Had we known Jim doesn't do ladders and hot sun, we would have hired someone else because the most important repair was not accomplished.

They were very fast and efficient in making the repairs I needed in a timely manner. Jim was on time and made suggestions on the best way to fix my problems. Due moving into a new home they found room in their schedule to fit me in. I thank them very much and highly recommend them for any home project need.

We were near the end of construction of our Dream Home when our General Contractor walked out on the project and left us with several unfinished items and/or things that needed correction or re-work. We hooked up with Jim, Cheryl and their excellent team who stepped up to the plate and are helping us finish the project in a very timely manner.

Jim Ince of Incepector Handyman and his associates have done several jobs for me over the last three years. They have repaired a bathroom ceiling, installed a ceiling light, installed ceiling fans in two bathrooms, sealed a leaky window and most recently repaired a worn out circuit in my fuse box and repaired a stove exhaust fan. I have been pleased with every job they have done for me.

Jim and his crew put a derailed bathroom remodel project back on track quickly and efficiently. I'd give him 5 stars just for not laughing at how badly I had botched the effort. Truth is I would have been money (and time) ahead if I would have called him first! Very professional - did what he said he would, when he said he would do it and there were no suprises at the end.

Recently hired IncePector Handyman, and I have to say I was very impressed. After hiring someone else, that just didn't cut it, called these folks for the job. They understood my needs, as I was in the process of selling the property and was fixing inspection issues. They were able to get out to my property quickly and finished multiple items on the inspection list in 1 day. The invoices were detailed, which my buyers appreciated. Our hot water heater had been problematic for some time. After attempting repairs, we finally decided to have the unit replaced by Jim's master plumber. They came out immediately to perform the work, and completed it quickly and for the amount quoted. We have used Incepector Handyman for years for our handyman services, but this is the most we've ever spent with them.

I contacted All About Bathrooms/Incepector Handyman to do the tile for my kitchen remodel and found that they could do so much more. We ended up awarding much of the work to them, including drywall repair, tiling and carpet stretching. They even used their network to find us a plumber on short notice when we had not factored that into the project from the start. Jim was great to work, and was willing to share tips for items that we wanted to handle ourselves. Cheryl was pleasant and always quick to respond. Their team showed up when they said they would, they did high quality work and helped us to keep our project on schedule.

Incepector Handyman is so much more than just a handyman service. While they've helped me with several smaller fixes, this review is on my Master Bath remodel that they recently did. Jim was very helpful every step of the way. He personally handle the project from start to finish - keeping me informed of progress every step of the way. He and his team were very professional and meticulous. I couldn't be happier with the finished product. Thanks so much!

Jim and his team are the best! I had a few different jobs for them to do, and they did it perfectly - from fixing my dishwasher so it would no longer tip out from under the counter to tearing out my tiled bathtub to replace part of the water pipe, then tiled it back perfectly. Great job guys!
