Barbara Safranek Landscape Design Gardens are my passion - studying, enjoying, and directing elements from the natural world into welcoming, interactive and inspiring spaces. The raw materials of site, climate, and human perspective make for infinite creative outcomes. My business is to help you envision and achieve for your garden a personal and functional experience of beauty.

Exploring ideas and possibilities is the foundation of good design and to that process I bring professional training and 20 years of landscape design, creative drive and dirty fingernails. My education in Landscape Architecture is from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Pots In The Garden
Report
Handmade pottery brings richness and depth to the home and garden: as water vessels, sculptural focal points, and tactile surfaces of substance and color. A well chosen pot is the right scale, texture and color, beautiful in its own right, and at home in the garden in every season.
Transformations
Report
Here are a few before and after shots of projects built from my designs. Some were created with shoe-string, do-it-yourself budgets and others were professionally crafted. All began with the design process of articulating objectives, evaluating site challenges and exploring solutions.
Garden Parties
Report
Gardens are for people! Make your garden a place where your family and friendships can flourish; Comfortable places to share meals and relax, lawns, patios and pools for play, art, flowers and food to nourish.
Plants
Report
Plants bring a garden to life by connecting with nature, reflecting regional character, and speaking of the history and passions of people. You may need only a few carefully chosen plants, or you can tend whole communities of plants related by climate and soil.
Landscape Design
Report
These albums are to help you get a feel for my work - from the plants I love to the ways I organize gardens. It is a good idea to prepare for our first meeting by thinking about your own preferences and gathering ideas that excite you. When you see what you like, pull the page out of a magazine or snap a photo - pictures are worth a thousand words!
