Construction
Report
Remodeling is a stressful and sometimes confusing endeavor for homeowners. Industry author David Lupberger has even generated a graph illustrating the highs and lows of the experience called The Homeowner's Emotional Roller Coaster. Landis recognizes a successful project is not just about great design and quality construction; it's about client experience too.
Design
Report
Company principal Chris Landis, AIA, and Director of Architecture, Paul Gaiser, AIA, are both experienced architects that manage a talented team of designers and drafters. The team uses the latest in 3D and virtual reality technology to help clients visualize the changes to their home. During the three design phases, they'll use a variety of practices to communicate design options.
Green Services
Report
As one of the Washington area's leading Design/Build firms, Landis Architect/Builders is and has been very concerned about the sustainability of our best practices. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, the residential sector accounts for 22% of the total energy consumed in the U.S.
Feasibility Study
Report
The Feasibility Study is another great tool that the architect uses. It's great for design and also offers substantial value for a customer in the right situation. A Feasibility Study is similar to a Master Plan in that it involves less design work than the full design process.
Master Plan
Report
The Master Plan is a great architectural tool. It's great for design and also offers substantial value for a customer in the right situation. A Master Plan is used in residential architecture typically for larger projects that involve two or more potential construction phases done over a number of years.

Ethan Landis, principal at Landis Construction, talks about the current state of energy consumption in U.S. homes and then about two projects Landis has completed. One was a deep energy retrofit of a 100+ year old home in Georgetown and the other is a highly energy efficient home that we designed and built.
These are the top remodeling projects completed by our company in 2014. They include an addition on a Chevy Chase home, a condominium in the Watergate, a cherry kitchen, a modern Silver Spring kitchen, a classic and inspired master bath, and a green whole-house renovation with geothermal and solar panels.
